I just bought a Nokia N97 Mini with a QWERTY lay-out keyboard. However, when I press the keys, for example the Q, I get an A as input. How can I change these settings to also have the QWERTY input? I have tried changing my country and language settings, no help.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E7 product code 059F7J6 (language set 014.002.09.01). Phone language and writing language is set to english but I have a problem with the QWERTY keypad. Keypad special characters (the one in yellow) on the keypad do not correspond with the special characters printed on the screen. Example letter D should print "&" as a special character instead it prints "=". It's the with almost all other characters. I am not sure whether this is a language pack problem or not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia Pro's physical keyboard (qwerty) has changed to azerty after updating ICS using Sony Bridge for Mac. I just bought my Xperia Pro (SI 1261-5019.2) yesterday, June 20, here in the Philippines.
According to Johan's post in this thread [URL]..Phones that have not updated to ICS yet will not get this problem when updating. (Written June 15).. Apparently there are some phones which still get this problem.
The solution has been to bring it to a Sony service center and they'd revert it back to GB. I can't just go there because I'd hate to drive for hours just to get to the nearest service center. I've tried calling but there seems to be a problem with their phone lines.
The temporary fix, which is to use the input Chinese keyboard, cannot be applied to my phone. Because there is no Chinese keyboard in my input selection! I've also tried the repair function in Sony's PC Companion for Windows, but it did nothing.
To the support staff, will there be any update in the future that fixes this issue? The qwerty keyboard is the reason why I bought this phone. With this problem, I'm starting to regret not getting an HTC One V or maybe an Xperia Sola.(Also: If there is any way to remap the buttons in my keyboard without having to root,

I have been having an issue with the email app included on the Rant while trying to reply in QWERTY mode.
It tends to freeze, not allowing text entry to continue. The QWERTY keypad was one of the things that drew me to this phone, and the application I most need that keypad for is the email.
I tend to think it has something to do with a character limit, though that wouldn't really explain why I can close the keypad and revert to T9 to continue without it freezing.
How to fix this without giving up on the QWERTY keypad altogether?
I received my X6 from T-Mobile today and found that during text entry in portrait there is only the alphanumeric keyboard, not the mini QWERTY that my aunt's 5800 has. Is this normal, or has T-Mobile disabled it? It seems weird to have the button for changing keyboards, and only having the option of selecting the 1 keyboard that there is.

Both full-qwerty and number-pad keyboards are full screen and I'm looking for a solution that takes half or less screen for typing (like mini-qwerty).
On a separate note, is it possible to get original light color themes for Nokia 5230. I've a black handset and all preinstalled themes are dark while my friend's white handset have all light themes.

A few things that i discovered and its bad! Comparing to E71, E72 is very bad. By the way, this is the second E72 i am using. I bought one before, same issue, now the secound one, Same ISSUE again!
Here are the problems: I need to type in Chinese (pinyin) but whenever the language is switched to Chinese input, the calculator does not allow me to input decimal (how bad this is!).
Also in Chinese mode, once back to English input, the SPACE bar input is NOT WORKING. The only way is to restart the damm phone.
For some strange reason the keypad that comes with Xperia mini pro doesn't work at all except when trying to unlock the screen. This is seen after the ICS Update (done today).

The on-screen keypad seems to work OK.Anybody seen this after updating their mini-pros....Checked that 'Xperia keyboard' service is running. The input method in the keyboard setting is 'Xperia keyboard'.

When I use the hardware keyboard, sometimes it would work (I can switch between hiragana / alphabetical input), sometimes it would act just like a normal keyboard (can't switch mode, word suggestion does not appear).

I hit this to close it and get it out of the way but the moment I start typing again its there! When you type a message / email on the on screen keyboard, there used to be a key to send your message from the screen that has been taken off. now i have to slide the Tablet open and send from the keyboard. View 4 Replies View RelatedThere has been a lot of discussion from people posting their desire to have a full-screen, touch QWERTY keyboard available on the N97, and I am in agreement this would be useful. A couple days ago, I was messing around with my N97 (which I am always doing) and needed to enter some text. Hit the screen to enter it and BANG, up popped a full screen QWERTY to use. I didn't think anything of it at the time, I just entered my text and continued. It was a day or so later it actually hit me what had happened. Unfortunately, because of this, I cannot remember what exactly I was doing at that particular time, but whatever it was, it gave me the full QWERTY onscreen. I have no idea if it's part of the new 2.1 beta Jave Runtime available on Betalabs but it's definitely there SOMEWHERE.
For anyone who hasn't tried the new 2.1 Java Runtime, I'd recommend giving it a try. It'll take up around 4mb of space on C: I'm afraid but my N97 has been running a lot better since installing it and I didn't miss the space as I was already running the older 2.0 beta anyway. If I do work out how I got the QWERTY to appear, I will certainly re-post.
Coming from a N70, I consider upgrading to a X6. However, I found typing on my wife's 5800 (landscape qwerty mode) quite erroneous and hard to get used to. Can anyone who has used both the 5800 and the X6 intensively let me know how they compare in terms of typing ease and speed?
