Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Qwerty To Azerty After ICS Update?
Jun 20, 2012
My Xperia Pro's physical keyboard (qwerty) has changed to azerty after updating ICS using Sony Bridge for Mac. I just bought my Xperia Pro (SI 1261-5019.2) yesterday, June 20, here in the Philippines.
According to Johan's post in this thread [URL]..Phones that have not updated to ICS yet will not get this problem when updating. (Written June 15).. Apparently there are some phones which still get this problem.
The solution has been to bring it to a Sony service center and they'd revert it back to GB. I can't just go there because I'd hate to drive for hours just to get to the nearest service center. I've tried calling but there seems to be a problem with their phone lines.
The temporary fix, which is to use the input Chinese keyboard, cannot be applied to my phone. Because there is no Chinese keyboard in my input selection! I've also tried the repair function in Sony's PC Companion for Windows, but it did nothing.
To the support staff, will there be any update in the future that fixes this issue? The qwerty keyboard is the reason why I bought this phone. With this problem, I'm starting to regret not getting an HTC One V or maybe an Xperia Sola.(Also: If there is any way to remap the buttons in my keyboard without having to root,
I have purchased xperia pro just 16 days back and updated it to ICS.after update my physical keyboard turns to azerty from qwerty.convert it to qwerty.
my xperia mini pro slide out keyboard has turned into an azerty keyboard after updating to ice cream sandwich ,i've checked the layout of the azerty keyboard ,even the symboles have changed places as it was an azerty keyboard, how can i return it to qwerty ? ps :i've tried repairing via pc companion ,it didn't work ..
I just bought a new case and a keyboard for my E72 but the new keyboard is Qwerty and I have a Azerty phone... is there a way to change the phone to Qwerty?
I just bought a Nokia N97 Mini with a QWERTY lay-out keyboard. However, when I press the keys, for example the Q, I get an A as input. How can I change these settings to also have the QWERTY input? I have tried changing my country and language settings, no help.
I'm new on this forum.I have a blackberry Pearl 8120 with a qwerty keypad, but the software recognised it as an azerty keypad.Anyone knows how to configure the keypad?
I used PC companion to update my Xperia pro phone to ICS today and now am experiencing the issue where slide out keyboard is recognised as azerty instead of qwerty.
I am getting a keyboard issue in xperia pro after update. The QWERTY keyboard has got changed to AZERTY after i updated to Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware. how to correct this back urgently. Is it possible to roll back to Gingerbread?
For some strange reason the keypad that comes with Xperia mini pro doesn't work at all except when trying to unlock the screen. This is seen after the ICS Update (done today).
Android Version - 4.0.4 Build number - 4.1.B.0.431
The on-screen keypad seems to work OK.Anybody seen this after updating their mini-pros....Checked that 'Xperia keyboard' service is running. The input method in the keyboard setting is 'Xperia keyboard'.
But my keyboard is on azerty like always but the m changed from place...First it was next to the 'n' now its next to the 'l'Next to the n i now have this symbol '.How do i get it back to normal??
After i updated from v30.something to the latest version, v40.0.005. I updated so i could get free navigation with ovi maps. Now i don't have the choice of full-screen qwerty keyboard anymore! I can only choose between alphanumeric, mini-qwerty or handwriting.
Just updated to the X10 and it has a qwerty keyboard which I hate. Is it possible to revert to a keyboard that looks like a phone pad (the number 2 button has the letters ABC etc).
I was using my phone normaly and then later on I went to send a text message and I was unable to use the qwerty row of the touchscreen. at first I thught it was a glitch on the text message section of the phone. But afterwards I discovered that even on the home screen that that area was totally unresponsive. The area is a horizontal area that goes all the way accros the touchscreen area it is about 1cm in height in portrait mode. The same area is unresponsive ene in landscpae mode.I dont know what to do, I've only had it for about two months so it is very new, im really upset about this issue. I live in the Uk and I dont really want to send it in for repairs becasue of the horror stories that I've heard about the waiting times!
after update to the latest android 4.0 and now 4.1.b.0.587. The backlight on qwerty and sym button is gone. Have tried to factory reset the phone but it dosen't work.
I'm using Xperia mini pro SK17i and POBox touch for my input. When I use the hardware keyboard, sometimes it would work (I can switch between hiragana / alphabetical input), sometimes it would act just like a normal keyboard (can't switch mode, word suggestion does not appear).
I own a X7 from several weeks ago, and recently began to suffer this malfunction:
when trying to write an e-mail or reply a message, the QWERTY appears on screen but doesn't react. The screen reacts normally for any other option (the option keys, by the way), but there's no way to type a word. additional to this malfunction (when it happenede), the temperature appears to increase also. the rear side of my phone was hot as if I had left it under the sun.
the only way to "fix it up", by now, has been to shut down and start again my phone.
I received my X6 from T-Mobile today and found that during text entry in portrait there is only the alphanumeric keyboard, not the mini QWERTY that my aunt's 5800 has. Is this normal, or has T-Mobile disabled it? It seems weird to have the button for changing keyboards, and only having the option of selecting the 1 keyboard that there is.
I've upgraded C7-00 from RP1.2 to Anna 25.07. It was done via WiFi from mobile itself. There is an issue with QWERTY keyboard. It is available in SMS, Calendar but not in Contacts. Here old-style keyboard is still used (which shows only possible letters from available phonebook entries). It doesn't change if I set another default language.
I bought my BB Bold 9900 a couple of days ago. I have noticed that the keyboard is not QWERTY but it is QWERTZ (letters Y and Z are switched) . I checked the forum for guidance how to change QWERTZ to QWERTY, and came to understand it is not possible on OS5, OS6. Also I have checked User Guide >Typing > Change the default currency symbol. Is it possible to change QWERTZ to QWERTY on OS7? I believe option "change the keyboard layout" should be added to the OS7 by default.
After software update my Qwerty keyboard changed to Qwertz layout. Some symbols don't match when i typing message. Maybe somebody know how to change keyboard layout back to normal, from Qwertz to Qwerty.
When you type a message / email on the on screen keyboard, there used to be a key to send your message from the screen that has been taken off. now i have to slide the Tablet open and send from the keyboard. Any reason/any fixes or settings that i might have missed? or it there something i can do to correct this?
After updating my software I have lost the option of selecting the larger (and easiest to use!) qwerty keyboard, I only have the option of mini, alpha & handwriting? how can I get it back, incidentally the full size option is available when using the internet
