I just got my N900 today and have a problem.When I go into conversations I can see text messages I have sent/recieved, but if I click into one of the messages, I should see a conversation, but all I see is the text box to write a message, above that is just plain black, like the conversation thread isnt being displayed. The title bar above that is displayed no problem.I updated to the latest firmware and the problem still exists.
View 5 RepliesI've had the N900 for about 2 months, and just today, everything disappeared from "Conversations" even though I had several text message conversations saved there. Now, anytime I get an SMS text message, my phone shows that I have received a message, but they disappear, unless I send someone a message and they message me back, then that message will open as a new window in the desktop, but nothing at all shows up in "Conversations" anymore at all. Even when I have SMS text messages open as windows on the desktop, when I open "Conversations",it says there are no conversations. Does anyone know what might have happened here and how I can fix it? So frustrating to get a text message and then it just disappears!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought the n900 and it's great but I ran into bit of a problem regarding Conversations and SMS. Somehow, every message I recieve is timestamped 5 Hours behind my time. I live in Toronto, Canada and my settings for Time and Date + World Clock are all set to reflect my time zone (+5 GMT) When I reply, it posts the correct time.
Example-
Me: Hey (05:02 pm)
Person: wsup (12:03 pm)
Me: nm (05:04 pm)
It's quite unpleasant to see the times all messed up. I've double checked all the basic settings and nothing points to a solution.
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.
View 23 Replies View RelatedEver since the newest update (3.2010.02-8.002), I cannot see my conversations.I can see the conversation on the main conversation screen, where all my conversation are. But when I click on a single conversation...I cannot see it or any other SMS or IM in that conversation. Even conversations that I send cannot be seen on this screen. It is only when I go back to the page will all the conversation can I see what I send, but even that is lost when I receive a SMS or IM back.
I did not have this problem prior to the latest update.It is very frustrating not being able to see the history of my conversations.
I have just updated my N8 with the Symbian Belle operating system and now have to reconfigure all my settings.

And yes after the initial install I installed the 4 other packages (Nokia Anna 1/2, 2/2, Ovi Store & Social). found that I didnt get a split screen anywhere. On Googling I found that split screen only works with Swype disabled. So I uninstalled SwypeNow I'm getting split screen in the search widget, browser, phonebook etc... but not in CONVERSATIONS (messaging app)

When I try to connect in the PC nothing happens and when I try to put the battery into the device. it turns on by itself and restarting sevaral times. I dont know what kind of problem I am facing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOkay i've had my Nokia n97 for more than 6months now and its been working great except lately my facebook app wasn't working and i had to update it,so last night i backed up my files on my mobile and i connected it to the pc and updated it with the program that the mobile brings with a cd it was okay then i went back to restore my files and it said it had to restart so it turned off and i went to turn it on again and it stayed a blank screen with the nokia sign in the middle in blue (when you turn it on it that usually shows) but it stayed stuck there it doesn't go to pin code nor anything, and to turn it off i have to take the battery off,

I went to sleep last night and everything was working fine, and when I woke up this morning my phone was totally blank.
At first I thought it probably just turned itself off because of the battery but the battery was fully charged. I cannot see anything, the screen looks as if the phone is turned off, but in fact the phone is on since I can here the keypad tones when I press anything.
My display suddenly got blank but it is still on. It worked fine until I have no idea what happened to it.

my nokia is a 5320, GPS position works fine, i used it today and added a position and then went on to the maps and it was just blank. I have never used ovi maps before am i doing something wrong? do i have register it or something?

After using it for sometime, suddenly the photos gallery, the music player song list and the videos list turn blank.They don't show any file at all. But I heard Nokia has had problems withe the lennex operating system. I was told to hold off that Nokia has a totally new phone that will be introduced mid summer 2010 with a new operating system that will put Nokia back on top over iphone ect ect.

I need a phone with a good battery (I am traveling a lot of time), I need connectivity, but also multimedia (video and music), but must of all I need a very good organizer. I can not afford a phone with so much problems and I don't have time to debug it!
So, I have to choose from these models: N900, N97, N97 mini, E72, BB 9700 Bold and IP 3GS. I know that you are not fans of BB and IP, but because I am a lot in the airplane, I need the multimedia and entertainment from 3GS and the office from BB.
My E71 screen goes blank and hangs while charging. This happend two times to me now. I cannot turn off the phone also. But I can answer the calls. My firmware version is 410.21.010.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just went to maps.ovi.com and got offered a new plugin for Firefox. It seemed to install OK and now the website - which used to take about 5 mins to startup for me - starts up in seconds. Almost as fast as Google maps.SNAG - the map area is blank. I can't see any maps.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFrom this morning, i obtain a blank screen when i try to create or read a text message on my Nokia 3110c. The blank screen disappear itself after 10 sec, back to home page.Seems that also some issues appears at the same time: Music player cannot read the library, error message at boot saying "Theme cannot be loaded".
I updated the software without success. Suppressed all messages or music, checked the free memory, nothing help.
Upgraded the phone software to V 40.0.005 (dated Dec 29, 2009) on my 5800xm, and now my maps are blank.When I click on the green compass I used to get a street level map, and after a while it would jump to my current position.I can still zoom etc, and it looks like it still gets a satellite fix (shows correct coordinates) but the maps seem to have gone.Just downloaded the Ovi maps anew from Nokia, and there is now a new menu structure, but still no maps.

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy n97 wouldn't charge nor turn on whatever I just see the little led charge light on, I understood this is a software problem with the battery management program which is ridiculous but found myself without a phone so decided to remove battery and take off the plug to an old phone and connect the + and - directly to the battery for 10mins and conected the battery back up turned phone on and connected it onto the main N97 charger and it started normally.
