I just went to maps.ovi.com and got offered a new plugin for Firefox. It seemed to install OK and now the website - which used to take about 5 mins to startup for me - starts up in seconds. Almost as fast as Google maps.SNAG - the map area is blank. I can't see any maps.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that suddenly (since yesterday) when I open the Ovi Maps site (http://maps.ovi.com/) I don't see the map surface anymore, I just see a white surface!!! Everything else is in place. I can zoom in and out of this white surface I can even change to 3D and the blue sky on top appears but no map. Needless to say the same goes for satelite or any other option. No map appears. If I reload the page the map appears for a second and disappears immediately. When I deactivate the ovi maps plug-in (4.0.12.12), the map reappears and stays. I even tried to unistall it and reinstall it but the same thing happens, NO map visible. When I reinstalled it, it said that the plug-in is not compatible with firefox 3.6.3. The strange thing is that I didn't updated my firefox since yesterday, it just started to happen suddenly. I couldn't find anything like that elsewhere on the web so this place is my last hope. Has anyone had a similar experience or even better a possible solution? By the way I have windows 7 but I can't imagine a reason for this being relevant since it work just fine until yesterday.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUpgraded the phone software to V 40.0.005 (dated Dec 29, 2009) on my 5800xm, and now my maps are blank.When I click on the green compass I used to get a street level map, and after a while it would jump to my current position.I can still zoom etc, and it looks like it still gets a satellite fix (shows correct coordinates) but the maps seem to have gone.Just downloaded the Ovi maps anew from Nokia, and there is now a new menu structure, but still no maps.

I have downloaded and installed local area maps (Guangdong, Hong Kong and Philippines).I have checked and re-checked all the settings from other forum discussions. Everything looks orrect...BUT when I try to zoom in, it's as if I have NO maps loaded...just a pale green screen with a message 'no detailed info.....then the app crashes after 15 seconds and I'm back to the home screen!!!I wish I could delete this app completely from my phone and use Nokia maps (like I had on my N82) but it won't let me.What a heap of JUNK! biggest waste of money in my life. All my iphone 3 and 4 colleagues are laughing at my 'good fortune'.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T HTC One and whenever I am using the Facebook or Messenger app, the map tiles only load on WiFi. This happens when I see a check-in on my news feed, or page for a specific location or when I tap an individual message in Messenger when the sender has location turned on.
The weird thing is that it only happens over cellular (yes I have sufficient coverage). If I'm on WiFi the maps load just fine. It also only happens on Facebook apps. Any other app with map thumbnails works fine.
I have the latest update (4.3) and this has been going on since 4.1, even after a factory reset or clearing the Facebook app data.

View 6 Replies View Relatedcool new application that allows you to get access to all your files/folders on your n900 from any pc with IE or another browser so long as you are on wifi.
there are two parts to install:
tiny smb & tiny smb gui.install the server first then the gui.
if you have rootfs installed:
open xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install tinysmb
apt-get install tinysmbgui
to get it to work and find out what your ip address is on the n900,
open xterm
/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep inet
then go to your computer, open a browser that is connected to the same network, and type in the ip address of the n900 and you will see all your files/folders pop up like explorer.
I can not install Mozilla Firefox on my nokia n900. I go to Ovi Store and download firefox (12.1 Mb), it starts downloading and when is finished, this message shows up: "Unable to install firefox. Installation file corrupted". Is this a phone problem or just the file which does not work?I have to make clear that I've already updated my nokia with the 10.2010.19-1 version. The previous version had Mozilla Firefox and just after updating my n900 it disappeared.

My biggest problem with the handset is that there's no support for the 6350 in Apple's iSync application and there isn't a plugin available from Nokia. When I bought it I had to enter all of my information by hand (since a SIM transfer completely sucks[2]). Now I'm having the handset replaced because the back is falling off and I'm faced with reentering all of that information again.
So, when will there be iSync support for the 6350? And are there any other ways (other than the aforementioned sucky SIM card method) to transfer all of my current data from the old 6350 to the new one when I get it in a couple of days?
[1] Modulo pathetic default ring tones and inadequate bolding of calendar dates which have attached notes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.

I have a problem with my Maps Application. Firstly I only have 9 icons on the Maps display page instead of the 10 that is shown on the Nokia website, I have found I do not have the Michelin guides........any ideas why?
I cannot download the Here and Now 2.0, it states that the Installation failed and have tried many times to reinstall it. Does this have anything to do with the missing Michelin Guide icon not being there?
I updated today to Maps 3.01. (To be noted that Ovi Suite still considers there is a new version of Maps available and would download and install 3.01 again any times I click on update.) When starting Maps the load screen with progress bar appears, then I can see an "empty" map. No keys work. After a few seconds (around 10 or so) the phone restarts.I deleted Cities folder and the file QF, rebooted, reinstalled etc. nothing helps.
