Nokia :: N85 - Navigation Keys - Freezes
Jul 17, 2010I have a problem with the Nokia n85. When I turn on the phone navigation keys are freezed. I tried to format the phone and memory card and update the new software.

Jan 7, 2010I need a little help here. My Nokia N95 8gb was working fine until I decided to do a firmware update. After the firmware update I decided to also update the maps using the map downloader since there are some roads missing in my area.Now the phone itself itself is working fine but I have a problem with the map navigation. I have a 2 year license for navigation for Southern Africa. Since the map update the phone will freeze when trying to calculate a route. You select your destination and when you select "Drive to" it goes back to the map, "Calculating route" appears in the top left corner and the map occasionally spins from North orientation and back again.I tried to restore a backup that I did before I undertook all these changes but it has made no difference to the map. I noticed on the new maps that there are dotted lines in the middle of the roads on the map. These did not appear on the previous map version that I had. The version I updated to is v2.0 wk24 b02.

Oct 17, 2011I just bought an N97 (not mini). After about 20 or 30 seconds the Maps/GPS application hangs and freezes. I then cannot exit the application. I have to restart my phone to use the application and then again for a few seconds. I have hard and soft reseted my phone, removed the maps folder and the application and downloaded/installed them again. To add insult to injury the Nokia people in MALTA say they cannot help me out because my phone was bought from the far east and is a different version?

May 16, 2012The navigation keys on Nokia X6, viz,. call(Green) & End (Red) always stay on, even after the screen lock. Normally, they are supposed to turn off automatically, when you lock the screen.I tried resetting the phone to Factory Settings, which failed solving the issue. I though of re-installing the phone software. During the re-installation, I see a screen that shows the progress of the installation, with a notice stating "Do not disconnect your phone" & "During installation, your phone restarts & screen goes blank." Well, when the installation progresses, the phone restarts, and the Ovi Updater shows "Lost connection to phone. Reconnect & start again". Everytime I reconnect and start again, the phone restarts in a while & I see the same old "Lost connection to phone" error. It runs like an infinite loop.

Sep 6, 2012Can move the Home, Back and Recent buttons down off the screen? I have seen this option on the Oneplus One as a setting - device - buttons that is on the lollipop version too. I find this layout most annoying on the Z5 E6683 as it gets in the way of most apps and reduces the actual space available on screen.

Aug 9, 2012Recently I have found that my touchscreen as been encountering some problems. First of all it very often freezes and the touchscreen wont respond and if it does it lags behind. But the most annoying thing is the problem I have with the keypad. Whenever I am sending a message, whether that be Facebook or a text using the keypad the line of keys that the space is on will not work. Every other key will work except for that one line.

But I've noticed that the navigation keys on my 1520 do not light up from the beginning. If I was more careful I could ask the seller right away, but I didn't notice it at the time.. Nokia Navigation :: While Navigation Compas Does Not Orientate
Dec 12, 2011Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

Aug 6, 2010Navigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!

Aug 22, 2012getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. Nokia :: E52 White LED Visible Between Keys
Aug 4, 2010Just switched from an ancien NOKIA to E52 and at the moment it's a struggle. I wonder if the white LED visible between the Home key and the Call Send key is normal. Sometimes it comes on together with the screen and sometimes it does not - so I guess it's not normal. And I didn't see it in any of the You Tube videos on E52.
