I had my Nokia N80 mobile phone stolen, and the only thing that I have to restore my data is the nbu backup file ( generated by Nokia Ovi Suite).Please, Does somebody know how to extract/export my contacts and SMS (text messages) from nbu backup file?

I took a backup of my contacts before upgrading from1.6 and I was able to restore it to 2.1 but there was a recent update which I did. Now I am not able to restore the the Contacts. Others like call log & Messages are getting restored. I have 187 contacts which the backup shows. Can you assist on how to restore it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen you start maps after having done a backup with the internal file manager, the GPS satellite dish symbol doesn't show up. Maps is not finding any route after showing the location based on UMTS. Although everythings looks ok in maps (you cannot see the missing GPS symbol), navigation will not work. Maps shows always the same location (looks like frozen). I had this now two time in heavy traffic in Aachen an Baden-Baden until I figured out the root cause.. To resolve the situation you need to switch off and on the N8. It is a night mare when you cannot restart the N8 while driving, and you cannot stop on a major street.The bug is reproducable. I hope it gets fixed fast. It's a pitty that maps doesn't show any error warning when getting started about the missing GPS. The recent Belle refresh had no solution to the problem. The bug is with both maps 3.08 and 3.09. Never do an automatic backup when you want to use maps.

i have problem in restoring data i backed up before upgrading the firmware from 4.62 to latest 7.23 and managing a full restore of my quite old supernova 7210, as i wasn't able to let nokia pc suite recognizing the phone (error every time i plug the phone).i created an internal nokia backup file (NBF) with messages, calendar, settings and contacts.i updated the firmware and now i'm trying to restore everything i need.now the issue: i'm able to restore "contacts", "settings" and "calendar", but when i check also "messages" option, after 2% of completion the phone told me that there's "no backup file available".what can i do now?i know those NBF files are zip files; is not possible to create a new backup file and merge the old messages folder "predefmessages", stored in the original NBF-zip file, into the new one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my new phone (Lumia 900) today and so far I love it! I transferred my music via Zune but when my old phone an N900 died I copied my contacts list onto my laptop. I have a folder of vCard files which I want to put on my new phone. I have connected via the USB cord but the phone doesn't appear on the list of drives etc. in windows explorer. For some reason it appears in devices and drivers, but I can't drag an drop into it. What I need is a similar thing to the sync option in Zune. To be clear this is my list of phone contact numbers only, not email etc.

On restoring this to my new phone, the contacts doesn't seem to have been restored. On entering the phone book, it says "contacts from selected memories not available". It seems strange as, upon receiving calls/messages, my phone knows who they are from (ie. the name of the contact comes up rather than the number). It seems the contacts are somewhere in the phone but it just won'r let me see them.

Also I'd like to use it with an external keyboard for those times when I'm in a hotel and some more lengthy emails to send, the onboard keyboard is very good, but fiddly for extensive use.
Also is there a headset with single earpiece and mouthpiece? My kids use a similar device on their x-box, it'd be useful where I have to make a succession of phone calls, the supplied headset is basic and I dont like the two little earpieces for extended work
Also can anyone recommend a basic CRM for the E72, I think the range of apps is very limited and if this is going to challenge the BB I think some more business orientated apps, not necessarily complicated, but Nokia recommended would be really useful. I've seen some CRM's suitable for the E series but no idea how good/bad they are, there seems to be very little user-reviews on them.

Also checked the PCCSContact file in the application data folder with SQLite3 Manager. However, it doesnt show any more contacts either. Any chance I can access the contacts on the mobile phone storage card?
I tried to soft reset my Lumia 800, after I add in all my live account, gmail and facebook, I found that all my contacted that used to linked together, I need to relink them again. Is there a way that I can backup the contacts and I don't need to link them again after I reset the phone.
