I Have a Nokia Lumia 900 and I'm also planning on buying another phone (not nokia), as I have all my contacts on my Nokia Lumia I want to get the all the contacts to my PC for later use.
View 2 RepliesCant understand why the backup to PC of vital Lumia phone information such as contacts, calendar and messges can not be easily and quickly achieved as with the Nokia suite and N8. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

I have the backup file that I took yesterday from my N8, but Lumia 800 is not compatible with Nokia Suite so I have installed Zune. This doesn't work either, as I cannot find the option to restore a backup - so I don't know what to do?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my n85 as it was malfunctioning. I backed up the phone memory to SD card. On restoring this to my new phone, the contacts doesn't seem to have been restored. On entering the phone book, it says "contacts from selected memories not available". It seems strange as, upon receiving calls/messages, my phone knows who they are from (ie. the name of the contact comes up rather than the number). It seems the contacts are somewhere in the phone but it just won'r let me see them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have not yet gotten ahold of a Lumia 950 but plan to do so in the fairly near future. I've been reading this forum and find various comments about whether or not to restore from a WM 8.1 backup. My current phone is a Lumia 1020 running Denim.
My question is for those who have recommended a fresh install rather than a restore from backup. Are you referring only to the "Apps and Settings" backup and not the "text messages" backup?
My Lumia 920's Skydrive Storage Options (Settings -> Backup -> Photos) doesn't show "Photos + Videos" like everyone else I read about, and when I click through on that, it only shows 2 options
* Don't Upload
* Upload (may use data plan)
There's no "Original size" and the entire "Videos" section is missing.I've made sure my wifi is set up and working, and my skydrive is all operational - when I "sake to skydrive" from the photo app, that uploads fullsize no problem.
How do I do this?Then restoring after a hard reset, to get my personalization etc.

I just wanted to back up my address book contacts from my Nokia 6300, using Nokia PC Suite. Unfortunately, the backup process stopped before completing, backing up only 13 contacts. Then, it synchronized these 13 contacts back to my cellphone, deleting all other 400 contacts on the phone.
Do you have any idea on how i can recover those lost contacts? I have already checked the Nokia PC Suite backup file using Noki software, however it also only shows 13 contacts. Also checked the PCCSContact file in the application data folder with SQLite3 Manager. However, it doesnt show any more contacts either. Any chance I can access the contacts on the mobile phone storage card?

I touched restore all factory settings and now I don't have any contact. I need them. I have installed Ovi Suite and I went to the restore tab menu but there it said you don't have .nbu backup.

I tried the appealing Bluetooth option, but unfortunately it didn't work. The pairing of the devices seemed to go OK.But after starting "contacts transfer" with some dots running over the screen of Lumia for a few second, I got "unable to complete the connection etc.".So apparently N95 is not supported or something.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have around 450 contacts in my address book (names, address, phone nos) on N9 and around 400 on Windows Lives account (combination of Gmail, Facebook and LinkedIn) on my Lumia 800.So, I tried using the Contacts Transfer app to move the contacts from N9 to Lumia via Bluetooth. What happened was that it transferred around 60-70 contacts and then failed.I tried repeating it several times, each time having to pair with the N9 again on Bluetooth and each time failing the transfer after moving around 60-70 or so contacts.I then decided to give up and look into PeopleHub and under the contacts, I found hundreds of entries labelled <Unnamed>, with empty contents in them.Now, how can I get rid of them and why failing to complete the transfer resulted in these blank entries being generated?I also logged into my Windows Live account and indeed, it is saying I have over 900 contacts but these <Unnamed> contacts are not listed anywhere in the ALL, 123, A, B, C, D, E, etc. groups. So, I'm unable to bulk delete them on the web.

View 4 Replies View Relatedok so i just got a nokia lumia 610, but everytime i try to add a new contact, i add a name and a phone number and as soon as i try to save it, it pairs it up with either facebook or hotmail (by itself), and then it says i cant it as i have choosen not to see contacts from facebook/hotmail, i would happily have my facebook contacts showing but the last thing i want is 300+ people on my phones contacts that i will never phone, or text, also if i try to show contacts from facebook, and then delete the 1's i don't want to see, it doesnt let me press delete so is there a way to connect only some contacts to facebook, so you only see the 1's your going to use and have the number of, or is there a way to delete the contacts you dont want to see from the peoples/contacts? if i cant sort this out i wont be able to use this phone,
