Jan 11, 2010I can't see how to do this on the N900 although the facility must be there because when I go to contacts and press the drop down menu there is a tab that says 'groups'. When I press the tab it lists my groups as sim cards contacts. I have no idea how to create a new group.

I found one option to go on icloud and make new groups and add the contacts I want to those groups.
I cannot figure out how to get those new groups to actually show up on my phone.
I don't use icloud for anything, other than backing contacts, thats it.Â

Jun 28, 2012Yesterday I finally wanted to organize my phone contacts. Why does the phone always go back to the group after adding a single member? I always have to click the add member again and then click the letter I was last and search for the next contact. This is very bothersome, why can't I select multiple contacts or at least go back right to where I last stopped.
Why in the world can I only add up to 20 members into a group? My family contacts is about 50 or 60 and my work contacts are at least 40 as well. Why is there such an arbitrary contact limit? If it is because of group SMS then simply make it possible to disable this feature for bigger groups.
Overall I find the people app very annoying. The Lumia 900 is a phone first, not a tablet. As such I would expect it to have all the features a phone needs. No phone profiles (Silent, Phone alert only, all alerts, etc.) no separate control for ringtone sound and all other sounds, no notification of missed events when the phone is locked.

Jul 2, 2010My contacts is in extras-devel and works great. it has a full screen widget you can turn on and off too.i have been able to create 4 groups of people/contacts and assign rings to them. (currently only see wav files) i am sure there will be some updates to make it better, but it is a great start. i have had no issues with it so far, so even the noob should be ok trying it.

Jul 10, 2012Anyway to surpass the 20 members per group limitation...I have to say this is really annoying why is it old androids phone let you have close to unlimited members per group according to your SD card storage, but not for Lumia 900
so I am thinking Nokia should mark this as a play phone not for business usage? I am quite frustrated that I got a new phone but force to use back my 5800 xpress music because most of my contacts transfer over is kinda screw up, and yes I have went to a Nokia care center and all they can reply "is a new software is like that".

Jun 15, 2012The max number of persons allowed in a contact group is (as far as I know) restricted to 20 persons. This seems very low and I wonder why this restriction is applied. A limitation of 20 persons in a group is not practical.

Jun 28, 2010I have the iPhone 4 and whether I use the contacts app or the phone app to make a new contact, when I try to add a picture, it never saves. You would have to first create the contact, then go back and edit it and add a picture either by taking a photo or using an existing photo. Am I the only one having this problem?
Also, if you, for example add in name, number, etc then try to snap a photo, not only will it not save the photo, but the info you just added is erased kinda strange.

Oct 25, 2012After the ICS update my email groups won't function. When i type in the group name it doesn't appear as an option for me to select. This is incredibly frustrating. What's more, the only way you can use the group is by navigating to contacts, scrolling over to groups, then pushing the group, then clicking "send email" this would be fine if i always selected the group before sending the email, but my primary use case is taking a picture and sending it to a distribution group (pictures of my kid sent to grandparents and family every day). When I take the picture then click the button to attach it to an email, then try to type in the group name, it doesn't appear.

Feb 26, 2010I'm new to this phone and have input 100 or so contacts by hand and now wanted to sort them into groups. I created the groups I wanted but when I tried to input the contacts to "Friends" I got the message that groups cannot have more than 10 entries. Can this be right? I can't find a setting to change this but it makes no sense. What's the point of groups if they're limited to 10 entries? This could be a make or break for this phone for me. Once I add all the contacts, I can't imagine scrolling thru all of them trying to remember how I input a customer's/friend's/tenant's/etc name.

Aug 26, 2013Having owned several iPhones, iPods, and numerous mp3 players, I am still unable to create or edit a playlist in Windows Explorer on my Lumia 1020. I have more than 2000 songs on the phone and would like to be able to make several playlists the easy way. Inside the playlist folder I can find no way to make, edit or add songs to a playlist. I would hate to have to put all my music into iTunes again and then sync and transfer it to the phone. Likewise, I would hate to try to use Windows Media Player and sync and transfer that to the Windows 8 phone.

May 29, 2015I send group messages for work as well as to the parents of the baseball team that I coach. I have these groups set up in my Google Contacts. Unfortunately groups don't show up on the Moto X contacts. I can't understand why, but they don't. On my Note 4 I can start a text, select the group from my contacts and type my message. It's quick and easy. If I were to do that on the Moto X I would need to select each contact individually. That's ridiculous. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my contact groups and send a text message to them?

Sep 15, 2015Just update my Moto-X 2014 (or at least it was bought in 2014) to Lolipop. Went to use messaging and found the Contact entry was broken. When I went into Contacts to correct it I found I could no long get the contacts in the groups I had created. Family, Friends, etc.
Add the fact that the new look sucks a bit. Way too much white space with no clear delineation of the entries. This I can live with but not both.
Is there a fix for either of these? If not is there a way to go back to Android 4.4.4?

I have got two Exchange accounts and one G-mail account.Â
When I go to Contacts / Groups and I make a contacts selection there (i do not want to view the suggested contacts and/or all contacts of every account), this selection is resetting after some time and showing me all contacts again.
It is as if I have hit 'Show all contacts'. This is very annoying, since every time I lookup a contact to call, I get all of the email addresses from the contacts list. This did not happen in IOS 7.Â
