Mar 23, 2012I cannot get to my contacts. The contacts screen on my i-phone is stuck on a blank 'groups' page. The only key available to push is the circular refresh arrow.

I have got two Exchange accounts and one G-mail account.Â
When I go to Contacts / Groups and I make a contacts selection there (i do not want to view the suggested contacts and/or all contacts of every account), this selection is resetting after some time and showing me all contacts again.
It is as if I have hit 'Show all contacts'. This is very annoying, since every time I lookup a contact to call, I get all of the email addresses from the contacts list. This did not happen in IOS 7.Â

Oct 25, 2012After the ICS update my email groups won't function. When i type in the group name it doesn't appear as an option for me to select. This is incredibly frustrating. What's more, the only way you can use the group is by navigating to contacts, scrolling over to groups, then pushing the group, then clicking "send email" this would be fine if i always selected the group before sending the email, but my primary use case is taking a picture and sending it to a distribution group (pictures of my kid sent to grandparents and family every day). When I take the picture then click the button to attach it to an email, then try to type in the group name, it doesn't appear.

Feb 26, 2010I'm new to this phone and have input 100 or so contacts by hand and now wanted to sort them into groups. I created the groups I wanted but when I tried to input the contacts to "Friends" I got the message that groups cannot have more than 10 entries. Can this be right? I can't find a setting to change this but it makes no sense. What's the point of groups if they're limited to 10 entries? This could be a make or break for this phone for me. Once I add all the contacts, I can't imagine scrolling thru all of them trying to remember how I input a customer's/friend's/tenant's/etc name.

(currently only see wav files) i am sure there will be some updates to make it better, but it is a great start. i have had no issues with it so far, so even the noob should be ok trying it.

May 29, 2015I send group messages for work as well as to the parents of the baseball team that I coach. I have these groups set up in my Google Contacts. Unfortunately groups don't show up on the Moto X contacts. I can't understand why, but they don't. On my Note 4 I can start a text, select the group from my contacts and type my message. It's quick and easy. If I were to do that on the Moto X I would need to select each contact individually. That's ridiculous. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my contact groups and send a text message to them?

Sep 15, 2015Just update my Moto-X 2014 (or at least it was bought in 2014) to Lolipop. Went to use messaging and found the Contact entry was broken. When I went into Contacts to correct it I found I could no long get the contacts in the groups I had created. Family, Friends, etc.
Add the fact that the new look sucks a bit. Way too much white space with no clear delineation of the entries. This I can live with but not both.
Is there a fix for either of these? If not is there a way to go back to Android 4.4.4?

Also, in Gmail, I have my contact grouped but don't know how to sync them down to the phone, if that's possible. If I could do that it would be much easier and faster than manually setting them up on the phone, since the categorization is already completed.

Sep 25, 2011I was using MissingSync from Mark/Space with my previous Android phone all right.Now I tried to get some new contact groups and new contacts to sync between Mac (10.6) and Defy ... but the new group did not sync, and newly added contacts on the defy did not sync back to the mac.So I looked around and found SyncMate from Eltima. Looked good, especially as it syncs free Contacts and iCal native.iCal sync works fine ... after some good syncs in Contacts, strane things happen:On the Defy, in the menu there is a button Hide/Show - when I press it, Contacts application closes (no error msg).Then, all groups are gone. I cannot create a new group. Grops are not synced from the Mac to the Defy.When you open the groups drop down list, there are the buttons:
- create a new group
- all contacts
- service dialign numbers
- Favorites
- .. the various groups ... (that are gone)
- and below, I cannot recall exactly, a "Contacts" or "My Contacts" voice, with an android/phone device as symbol.gone that too.So, is the Contacts application data corrupt?I the application itself corrupt?Did syncmate tamper with date and/or application?

Nov 17, 2010I've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there.Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. Aug 25, 2011I have taken my gmail contacts and sorted them into groups. For example Friends and Friends 2, where Friends are people I call all the time and Friends 2 are those I call once a year. On my D2G under Contacts>menu>Show/hide. It says "check the groups to hide." If I check Friends 2, should this not now hide all the contacts in the Friends 2 group?
In Contacts Menu there is also a "Show Group", and this has the options Create new Group, All contacts, favorites, Google, and Phone contacts. This is confusing to me. If I choose "Google" which I assume is all my Gmail contacts, shouldn't the Show/hide apply to those groups? This is not the case. I have checked and unchecked several groups to hide and they still display. I have also verified that the contacts are only in the groups that are checked. So they should be hidden.
I want be able to hide certain groups in contacts and only show them when I need them. I'm not getting this right. I have synced since organizing the the the Gmail contacts.

May 18, 2012It seems pretty definitive that on the iPhone one cannot add to a contact group or mail to a group. I must admit that I was hoping that the recent OS update would deal with this but it hasn't. My question to the experts out there is why Apple- normally so intuitive- has not thought of this? It is a major operational weakness of the iPhone.
