I have an iphone 3GS. When I sync my phone all of my contact groups from Outlook transfer to my phone. I do not need all of these groups. if there is a way to delete Groups under Contacts off my phone?

When I add specific contacs to a group, I do not see that contact listed under the main contacts list. They are available only under the groups. It looks like a bug with the xperia neo v. Is there a way I can have the contact seen in both the main contacts list and in the groups? I use the xperia neo v which is upgraded with ICS 4.0.4

After syncing my iPhone contacts to my Windows Contacts, my contacts from my computer were placed on my iPhone under a group named From PC. How do I remove this group and also how to I get my iPhone contacts organized according to new groups of my preference?

I have got two Exchange accounts and one G-mail account.Â
When I go to Contacts / Groups and I make a contacts selection there (i do not want to view the suggested contacts and/or all contacts of every account), this selection is resetting after some time and showing me all contacts again.
It is as if I have hit 'Show all contacts'. This is very annoying, since every time I lookup a contact to call, I get all of the email addresses from the contacts list. This did not happen in IOS 7.Â

I just upgraded to a One X on ATT. Couple of questions:
1. How do I delete contact Groups?
2. Contacts in the Favorites group are displayed in a grid with pictures. How do I display in a list format without pictures?
My wife and I both downloaded the new Gingerbread update today on our Droid Xs. Everything went smoothly, and love the interface, cut copy and paste features especially. The only problem I'm facing right now is in contacts we both had e-mailed groups set up. I have over 500 contacts with the business I have. I personally needed to have three groups in my contacts: one for personal, business, and business active.
What has happened after updating Gingerbread is all of our contact "groups" are now in what is called "My account groups". I cannot edit add or delete any member in these groups. Any trick to editing or deleting or adding to the groups in "My account groups"? The only workaround I have found is to create a new group and select each and every member in my contact list again which consists of going through almost 500 contacts and splitting them into three categories.
After the ICS update my email groups won't function. When i type in the group name it doesn't appear as an option for me to select. This is incredibly frustrating. What's more, the only way you can use the group is by navigating to contacts, scrolling over to groups, then pushing the group, then clicking "send email" this would be fine if i always selected the group before sending the email, but my primary use case is taking a picture and sending it to a distribution group (pictures of my kid sent to grandparents and family every day). When I take the picture then click the button to attach it to an email, then try to type in the group name, it doesn't appear.

The only option to add is Voicemail. All contacts are stored on the SIM card. I can also create a new group but still don't get to select names from existing contacts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this phone and have input 100 or so contacts by hand and now wanted to sort them into groups. I created the groups I wanted but when I tried to input the contacts to "Friends" I got the message that groups cannot have more than 10 entries. Can this be right? I can't find a setting to change this but it makes no sense. What's the point of groups if they're limited to 10 entries? This could be a make or break for this phone for me. Once I add all the contacts, I can't imagine scrolling thru all of them trying to remember how I input a customer's/friend's/tenant's/etc name.

(currently only see wav files) i am sure there will be some updates to make it better, but it is a great start. i have had no issues with it so far, so even the noob should be ok trying it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI send group messages for work as well as to the parents of the baseball team that I coach. I have these groups set up in my Google Contacts. Unfortunately groups don't show up on the Moto X contacts. I can't understand why, but they don't. On my Note 4 I can start a text, select the group from my contacts and type my message. It's quick and easy. If I were to do that on the Moto X I would need to select each contact individually. That's ridiculous. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my contact groups and send a text message to them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust update my Moto-X 2014 (or at least it was bought in 2014) to Lolipop. Went to use messaging and found the Contact entry was broken. When I went into Contacts to correct it I found I could no long get the contacts in the groups I had created. Family, Friends, etc.
Add the fact that the new look sucks a bit. Way too much white space with no clear delineation of the entries. This I can live with but not both.
Is there a fix for either of these? If not is there a way to go back to Android 4.4.4?
I'm sure this has been done before and i've searched a few pages on here.Just wondered if anyone knew how to add from contacts list to groups?

Also, in Gmail, I have my contact grouped but don't know how to sync them down to the phone, if that's possible. If I could do that it would be much easier and faster than manually setting them up on the phone, since the categorization is already completed.
I was using MissingSync from Mark/Space with my previous Android phone all right.Now I tried to get some new contact groups and new contacts to sync between Mac (10.6) and Defy ... but the new group did not sync, and newly added contacts on the defy did not sync back to the mac.So I looked around and found SyncMate from Eltima. Looked good, especially as it syncs free Contacts and iCal native.iCal sync works fine ... after some good syncs in Contacts, strane things happen:On the Defy, in the menu there is a button Hide/Show - when I press it, Contacts application closes (no error msg).Then, all groups are gone. I cannot create a new group. Grops are not synced from the Mac to the Defy.When you open the groups drop down list, there are the buttons:
- create a new group
- all contacts
- service dialign numbers
- Favorites
- .. the various groups ... (that are gone)

I've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there.Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. View 12 Replies View RelatedI have taken my gmail contacts and sorted them into groups. For example Friends and Friends 2, where Friends are people I call all the time and Friends 2 are those I call once a year. On my D2G under Contacts>menu>Show/hide. It says "check the groups to hide." If I check Friends 2, should this not now hide all the contacts in the Friends 2 group?
In Contacts Menu there is also a "Show Group", and this has the options Create new Group, All contacts, favorites, Google, and Phone contacts. This is confusing to me. If I choose "Google" which I assume is all my Gmail contacts, shouldn't the Show/hide apply to those groups? This is not the case. I have checked and unchecked several groups to hide and they still display. I have also verified that the contacts are only in the groups that are checked. So they should be hidden.
I want be able to hide certain groups in contacts and only show them when I need them. I'm not getting this right. I have synced since organizing the the the Gmail contacts.
I am unable to add contacts or edit contact groups. I can create a new group and get as far as checking the check boxes in add contacts to group but it will not update.
