Nokia Lumia :: Transfer Music From PC To It Wirelessly
Dec 18, 2012
know any app that can wirelessly transfer music from pc to lumia 920. I know zune is out of the question because there is no zune for lumia 920 (I think they should bring that back in and update).I tried a lot of advice from many posts already, and non of them work. My computer just won't read my Lumia 920 just by using the usb calbe. It kept saying "MTB USB Driver Failed", and I will just have to accept that instead of losing myself for it.
Just the other day my Lumia 920 stopped charging when placed on awireless charging plate. I have placed it on multiple plates, and while it will turn the device on as if it is powering the device, and the light on the plate turns on, it does not actually charge. Rebooting has not fixed it.
i have just got a Lumina 920 on t mobile, its a fantastic handset but i have one issue, if i use the wireless charging pad and leave the phone for more than 30mins i have to press and hold the unlock and volume down button.
Is there a way to wirelessly transfer files from your computer to your phone? I use AIM yo transfer files form my laptop to my desktop, is there anyway to do that from computer to phone and vice versa?
I have a new Lumia 950 Unlocked Dual Sim. I have an SD card installed that appears to be working properly. In windows explorer if I want to copy music to either the main music folder on the phone or the music folder on the SD card I get the following error:The phone is unlocked with a PIN so it should be able to write to the phone but it doesn't. I am using the USB C cable that came with the phone.
I can create a folder in the music folder, but I cannot copy a file into the newly created folder. If I try to copy a file into the Saved Pictures folder it works, but if I try copying into the camera roll folder I get the same error.I have had a Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 before this an I have never had this issue.
I'm trying to transfer videos and music to and from my 1520.
I plug the phone into the USB cable, the phone software launches, select explorer, navigate to my sd card, wait for it to refresh, goto the camera folder and wait forever for thumbnails to draw. When I start to scroll through all the photos and videos, I barely get to the videos I want to transfer on to my pc.
Most of the time I give up and upload them to onedrive and download them, which is just stupid way to transfer files.
I recently upgraded from a Lumia 920 to a Lumia 1520 SOLELY so I could take advantage of the Full HD support, Larger screen, Radio, and MOST IMPORTANTLY; the allowance for expandable memory up to 64GB.
I purchased a Micro SDHC 64GB Class 10 card -----> and proceeded to add music to it in my phone as I did previously with my Lumia 920, through WIndows Explorer. I made the mistake of letting my eagerness get to me and attempted to transfer ALL of the music that was currently on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000. To make a long story short, I've been plagued by the following problems:
Duplication: Lots of songs were duplicated or triplicated. They each played in the Music Player app but when I checked the music content of my phone using the Windows phone app, quite a few songs (mostly the duplicates and triplicates) showed up as having a 0 Byte file size.Missing Tag info
"Error Syncing" and once it got to that first Error, nothing else would sync.Windows Phone app Errors 83000006 & 80004005
Two errors which I googled but found no useful info to solve the problem. Forgot the exact numbers but they were each 8 or 10 digit numbers starting with 8000. Windows explorer File corrupted error
This error gave me the biggest hints as to what was causing the problems. Certain files (Playlist m3u, and Album art) ended up being corrupt(ed) and the introduction for the first corrupt file to SD card corrupts the entire card which now has to be formatted.SD Card Corruption
I've read that the Format SD Card option provided in Phone STorage settings, only erases headers (Because it is a rather QUICK process on the phone. Faster than Quick Format via PC.) I've done full formats through Command Prompt "format H:"
I've run chkdsk /F H: which has found numerous errors and FIXED these errors in between formats. After the errors are corrected or after formatting I can load music to the card via PC (using the SD slot) but when I insert the card back into the phone all the music shows up in the OTHER folder.
The CLOSEST that I've ever come to 'successfully' transferring music to my SD card is using Windows explorer and transferring music albums folder by folder or Multiple file by multiple file. It was a painstakingly slow process that seemed to work until I hit about 16+ GB before I got errors and had to start over.
One of the most frustrating things is that transferring the music files to my PHONE works. I even went as far as trying to transfer the music files DIRECTLY off of my Lumia 920 onto the SD card's music folder of the 1520 to no avail.
I was wondering if it is possible to use a playlist on the iphone 4s with a very old stereo system? It is a great sound system but lacks the ability to plug in any adapters. The speakers are wired throughout the house and outside.
I am trying to transfer music to my N900 device but Ovi Music tells me it is connected in the wrong mode. It says" unplug your device and reconnect it, a menu will appear, and depending on the model, use one of the following: Media Player, Printing and Media and Media Transfer. The problem is that no menu appears on the screen of the N900. What should I do?
I have a Nokia 5800 express music. I had some trouble with it, when I turned it on, it just startet vibrating without starting, so I got that fixed. Now it won't update or transfer music. Since I got it back from the Nokia store, it have not been working with update on my computer. While it was repaired I also installed Windows 7.
OK, so we all know Ovi player is, uummm, a bit flaky?I've given up trying to use it and am now using Windows Media Player to transfer music to my X6. This works absolutely fine other than getting the album art onto the phone.
I recently got a Kingston 16GB Class 4 microSD (from a reputable source - not ebay - and yes it is a genuine 16GB microSD) for my N8 and want to transfer my music to it, to free up space for photos and video on the phone itself. What I thought should be a simple process, thanks to Nokia, has turned out to be a non-trivial exercise.I naively copied my MUSIC folder to the microSD (F), and then deleted the MUSIC folder on the E drive, and refreshed the library. It went through the process of seemingly refreshing for ages, number of tracks clocking up, but then told me the music library was corrupt and showed nothing. After playing for a while, I decided to reverse the process, put my music back on E and deleted the MUSIC folder from the F drive. Refreshed library and I was back to square one (thankfully), and everything worked as before, but, of course, I still hadn't got my music across to the microSD.
Then I searched these forums and found loads of people had had the same problem. It seems that, (as is often the case) the refresh of the library has bugs, and keeps old files somewhere on the device that should be deleted by the refresh process for it to work properly, but hang around causing problems (thanks Nokia - your software guys strike again)Despite trying to find these 'private' folders, they do not appear to be anywhere on any drive on my N8 (and, yes, I did have show hidden files set)
So, simple question is, how can I successfully transfer my music to the microSD so that it just works? Do i have to delete all 1400 tracks and reload them onto the F drive, and if I do this, will it sort the library problem. Ideally I would appreciate a tried and tested method from someone who has actually DONE it, as I don't want to screw my N8.
I originally bought some music tracks via Nokia Music on my 5530. I did this on the phone and not via my P.C etc. I now have bought a Lumia 710 and signed in to Nokia music on it. I assumed it would recognise any music I had bought and ask me if I want to transfer it? But of course, it doesn't seem to. I have a backup of my 5530 in the Ovi suite, but the Lumia uses Zune. I am confused now as to the easiest way to get the music off my 5530 and on to the Lumia.
I have a Nokia Unlimited Account for the Nokia Music app on my Lumia 800. I would like to move my downloaded music from the app/phone to my MacBook Pro.
I can successfully download and play songs on my PC and on my mobile. However, if I try to transfer my songs from the PC to my mobile if comes up with the following error message: "This music can't be transferred because one or both of the devices involved is not an Ovi Music Unlimited device. You can only transfer music between your registered PC and mobile."
Obviously both are Ovi Music Unlimited devices and all was working fine before the Ovi player upgrade.
I tried transferring a few different folders with music in them to my N700 but no matter how I do it , they don't end up in the "MUSIC PLAYER" folder . In the end , I use the "old Nokia suite" to drag & drop & it did end up in the right folder but not with its own folder , they end up as 1 folder with all the music in it.
I've been using my 5800 XPress comes with music device happily with no problems for about 6 months, now all of a sudden whenever I try to transfer my Comes With Music downloads to my device for no apparent reason they ALL fail to transfer just saying that the transfer has failed but no explanation as to why. There's about 4GB of memory available so it's not a lack of space. I've tried re-installing OVI player to no avail, I can't understand what has happened to stop it transferring, I've changed nothing at all.Any ideas how I might be able to get the music to start transferring again?
I have Ovi installed, i am able to sincronize photom contacts and messages but no risul with music.apparently i can transfer music on my phone, it appewrs so on the computer but when not usb connection the music is not on the phone anymore.I tried the update of the music list but it doesn't seem to work.
The problems with Comes with Music continue. My first year has expired, and though I have bought a second Comes With Music device I have not yet worked out how I am going to plug that in (see separate post about problems of only one phone per CWM account even if you buy a new phone and renew).
Put my old SIM in new CWM but without yet activating the PIN (two months from sales date to do so) and old phone gets upset and music stops working. Bizarre, so think redownload music to phone again, pain but if necessary will do so.
However, when I try to download the music from PC to phone using Nokia Ovi Player, won't let me, it tells me I have not got the license, I can only download music from the Music Vault.
So I download a track from the music vault, and then try to download it to phone.Still will not let me.Can play track quite happily on the computer, but not on the phone.
As an aside people talk about DRM and how if you are a legal music downloader (like me) then it should not bother you. The problem is I am trying to use music that I have legally downloaded to use on my phone according to my agreement with Nokia, and the DRM is stopping me using it, even though it should not. The reason people are against DRM it is all too good at stopping you doing what you should be doing.
I'm using my Nokia 5310, it has been updated to the latest firmware, I'm on the latest Nokia Music Player, and it expired less than a month ago.
i'm facing a trouble transfering my music from my notebook to my nokia 5230, using Nokia Ovi Suite of course.it seems that Ovi put the music in my smartphone, but checking on the phone i don't see any file. checking on the memory card details (App->Office->Files Management) in the Music folder i can see those files, but they are not in the Music Player...
I CANT WORK IT OUT!!! I am really rubbish with phones, but I can seem to do is log in to the OVI store, I can't see any way of being able to transfer directly from a laptop. I tried the USB to Phone stick but it asked me to load a CD (all I have is an OVI CD), and then nothing happened.
How to transfer contacts from Nokia N95 to Lumia 800
I tried the appealing Bluetooth option, but unfortunately it didn't work. The pairing of the devices seemed to go OK.But after starting "contacts transfer" with some dots running over the screen of Lumia for a few second, I got "unable to complete the connection etc.".So apparently N95 is not supported or something.
I have around 450 contacts in my address book (names, address, phone nos) on N9 and around 400 on Windows Lives account (combination of Gmail, Facebook and LinkedIn) on my Lumia 800.So, I tried using the Contacts Transfer app to move the contacts from N9 to Lumia via Bluetooth. What happened was that it transferred around 60-70 contacts and then failed.I tried repeating it several times, each time having to pair with the N9 again on Bluetooth and each time failing the transfer after moving around 60-70 or so contacts.I then decided to give up and look into PeopleHub and under the contacts, I found hundreds of entries labelled <Unnamed>, with empty contents in them. Now, how can I get rid of them and why failing to complete the transfer resulted in these blank entries being generated?I also logged into my Windows Live account and indeed, it is saying I have over 900 contacts but these <Unnamed> contacts are not listed anywhere in the ALL, 123, A, B, C, D, E, etc. groups. So, I'm unable to bulk delete them on the web.
