I made some kind of swipe on my Lumia 920 and the current page/app (not Internet Explorer page) zoomed out and I could swipe back and forth between the pages/apps I had used before (as minitures).

If I get a notification and don't check my phone before it disappears then I have no way of knowing what notification I got (short of scanning my homepage, which doesn't help for apps I don't have pinned, as the icons on the app list don't show notification indicators).Alternatively I'd accept being able to disable the timeout on the notification so it doesn't disappear and stacks with other notification on the lock screen.As a last resort being able to make notifications like old school popups would do. Are any of these an option on the Lumia 820? I'm guessing no, as I'm slowly finding that it's the worlds most inflexible phone (are Nokia after iPhone's crown in this area?)

I have a new (to me) Lumia 1020 and while it is fast and fluid everywhere else, web pages sometimes take forever (sometimes as long as 15 seconds) to load. Often it is the first visit to a page after opening IE, but not always.
I am on a VERY fast WiFi connection that is capable of 120Mb/s and tests at about 50Mb/s using a speed test app on the phone. Other PCs on the same WiFi network do not exhibit ANY page load delays.
The issue seems the same whether I am on WiFi or cell data (ATT LTE with a strong signal).
Data Sense is set to NOT compress web pages, but the issue seems the same if I enable web page compression.
Why web pages take so long to load... sometimes? It is the only issue I have with WP8.1.
Any way to change the image of a live tile created for a web page? I don't like the boring blue e and preferred the web page preview. But at least a way to change it would be nice.

When using my Edge or UC Browser I find that each time I press the BACK button on a page it sends me to the top of the screen I was previously on.
With my 920, and desktop browsers, when I press back it takes me to the location of the screen I was previously on. This is a huge inconvenience when the page I am browsing is long and I then need to scroll all the way back down to get to where I was before.
I also notice this to be the case on the Microsoft Sports app. The News app works properly but the Sports app, Edge, and UC Browser all exhibit this irritating trait.
I have changed all the pictures for my screens but can't figure out how to change the swipe screen picture. Is it possible to change that? It's not that it's bad... but I probably would change it if it was possible.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running low on space on the phonememory, and i have tried a soft reset *#7370#, also going through the meny but it wont clear up the memory. I have deleted all text msg, the phonebook, calendar etc. I have no downloaded apps installed on the phonememory. Latest firmare V31, and i have tried to reinstall the current firmware through Ovi Suit and PC Suite.
Atm i have about 15 MB of phonememory. I have noticed that under 20 MB of phonememory the phone starts to complain when i have 2-3 apps open at the same time that there is not enough memory. That problem did not occur when i had over 20 MB of phonememory.
I have an issue regarding My nokia N97...My device is updated with firmware version 21.0.045 bt stil after updating it my issue is arising..When I bought my phone,that time when I receive an Incoming call...while my phone is locked I used to get "Swipe to Answer" on my display bt now suddenly even if the phone is locked..when an Incoming call is coming the phone gets unlocked itself and I get normal Answer and reject buttons on the touchscreen..I want the same Swipe to answer feature back in my phone..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have seen others having the same problem: it used to work fine, but suddenly I can't answer phone call by just swipe the screen. I have to unlock using the side unlock key, and answer the phone. I now set the Any key Answer function on, so I can answer by pressing the white key or the unlock side key. But I am afraid that the side lock key is going to give after prolonged use. And it's kind of inconvenient especially when I don't want to answer a call. I have tried soft reset, hard reset, and taking out the battery and everything. Nothing worked. Can anyone give me advice on this issue?

The history shows, but when you long press on one it just pops up "details." There is no way to delete the history. If you go into phone settings and under privacy turn off access to call history for Messaging+Skype, then app will no longer load/work.

I'd much rather just do the swipe. How can I set this as the default option to greet me when I flick the switch to wake up?I have the device lock on as quite often the screen becomes active on it's own, and messes up my widgets etc.
