Just read on another page about the Lumia 920 having the option to hit the Bing search button, and then swipe to the right (Or left - can't remember), to get News articles. Guess this must be regional dependent (Or is it just on AT&T devices)?

View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen try to search for something as usual: one click on the search button, Cortana opens, then type something, use the arrow or the web search touch button; Cortana closes itself! I did two soft resets, (long pressing the power button, that's what it does right?) Same behavior. web search suggestions are working fine. whenever I click on one of them it closes itself. I think it just started today.
I have unlocked 950/dual-sim/usa/ build xx.29 / no firmware upgrade. When I open edge and do the search in the address line it works, opens bings for the search phrase.
It is probably discussed earlier, but I couldn't find a answer. Is it possible to replace Bing search button with Google? I am using 8.1 preview.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 1520 now has the Bing search menu keep popping up. It has dine this now many many times and often freezes the phone on that display. I have had it do this without even touching the screen. Just reading an article and out if nowhere it pops up. The only way to resume is to turn the screen off and back on. Its getting annoying and only seemed to do this after the last update, not windows 8.1, just the last regular update. I also get the screen shaking up and down sometimes and have to turn the screen off then back on. The screen contents will start shaking violently up and down. I have done the soft reboot several times and gone into the Bing settings to turn off but it still does this. I should have never updated this phone. It worked brilliantly before it. What's next, hard reboot?

View 3 Replies View RelatedConsidering upgrade from Windows 7.5 device (not Nokia) and looking at 820 or 920, but really like speed, integration and features of Bing Maps - looking at reviews/comments, removing the menu item for Bing Maps is putting me off the Nokia and pushing me towards the HTC!Why not have both available on the phone? You have the codee there so it does not affect the underlying platform. User choice is and should be king on these devices, so why remove the Bing Maps option? This must be a simple fix for you to do.... so make yourself another customer, and a load of people out there happier by adding the menu item back in ---- you don't have to have it pinned to the start menu by default, just available for those of us who want to use it instead of -- or as well as -- Nokia Maps.

However, when using Nokia Maps, it displays my location correctly.I have rebooted my phone, turned on and off location, but it still located me incorrectly. This is day 2 of this issue.

I tried a soft reset, hard reset, took it to the AT&T store cause the windows phone rep said its hardware but when I got to the AT&T store they showed me on their 1020's in store and also their demo ones they use that the music app did the same thing.
After using Nokia TV something strange happened. On the left side of the screen there is a vertical area which does not recognize the touch. The width is about 1 cm. It prevents to type e.g. Q and A.Diagnostics also confirms the problem when the touch test is being used.I have tried to boot many times with no effect. What should I do?

This is not the NOKIA that I grew up with. I mean I've used around 3-4 different nokia phones and none had any issue whatsoever anyways, any other person having this issue.

On S6 I notice whether at home with wifi or out with only cell data, that when I press the mic icon to do a google voice search I will see a white screen for up to 10+ seconds until the word "Listening" pops up.
It is as if it cannot connect to the service to perform the voice search immediately. Once it does connect, I can perform a web voice search with absolutely no delay...
Under running apps, Google App is of course running. I did disable these apps but not sure any would make a difference-except perhaps Cloud???

New sensation user. I have noticed that when using the webbrowser the search and refresh buttons are always at the top of the page. Is there any way to have these as auto scrolling as its a pain when on certain blogs that you need to go back to top of page to do a refresh

The issue is that I have more than 100 SMSes of which some are from service providers whose number is not stored in my contacts obviously. And everytime I need some information from a particular SMS, there is no way to search for it other than scroll through each SMS till I find it. This way, I have accidently deleted important SMSes that I needed.

2. I would like to be alble to search all my emails that are in inbox so I selected downloda emails: all(my translation may be not accurate) is sync settings. That coused the phone to download all my emails from my google account that is approx. 10000 messages. Now the search function in mail app is super slow (like 30 seconds to display anything). I changed the sync options to sync only emails from last month but it didnt change anything.
Managed to get all my old 120 favorites on N8 syncd to Nokia maps from [URL] Now, how do I search within the favorites? It just lists them in alphabetical order and no option to sort or search. If I display the favs on maps it is very slow and names do not appear?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to use app Map on Lumia 800 I am not able to find the search icon on the map allowing me to search for a place or business or shops etc. The only available icon is the search icon outside the map which only is used to search internet giving me a list of links which can not be connected to the map. I have tried to follow the instructions given in the manual however with no success. It all stops after launching the map. Note: This problem affects only the use of Map (Bing) and not Nokia Map or Nokia Drive. What am i doing wrong?
