When will Nokia/MS support Adobe Flash player for Lumia 800 like they have for Android? Also I should be able to download a browser of my choice on Lumia as well. Any clarifications from Nokia most welcome!

To the apps developers at Nokia,first I must say the new lumia 800 is an awesome phone with some great features but there are two significant issues:
1. No flash player support, I understand apples issue with flash but surely microsofts wp7 should support flash as standard.
2. No iPlayer app or support! This is scandalous and I have to use my ipod touch for this. Any smartphone released for the UK needs iPlayer as standard. This is really disappointing.
So please app developers sort this out as this is the only reason I would not recommend this phone to anyone else.
My phone is not supporting online flash player in most of the websites. So I am not able to watch videos online which requires higher version of flash player. Why it is happening? Can I get update for this flash...

Took 4 videos, 2 saved to my Sandisk 64gb class 10 card, 2 saved to the phone. Took 720 & 1080 video's all 4 videos are very choppy on playback. They skip most of what is recorded. Phone also duplicates music, photo's & video's like crazy! I have 10+ copies of pictures & songs on my phone, it stops duplicating videos at 3 copies!

Starting last week I noticed when I watch a video that my controls are gone when I have playback. I found out that the phone locks the controls away so I have to press the power button to unlock but my question is how do I turn off the lock all together. It's really starting to annoy me. And save the why don't you install a 3rd party comments.

Before 4.0.3 I was able to playback flash video in the browser on my TV through the HDMI cable, now with 4.0.3 I have lost that ability. When trying to playback flash video on the browser in fullscreen, the screen becomes all black and the audio stops.

View 13 Replies View Relatedthe motorola cliq with motoblur needs to be updated to to android 2.2 froyo because the eclair update still has flaws i and i am going to list those flaws right now right here.
1. when i updated my motorola cliq to eclair android 2.1 i could not turn off safe search filtering because that option was grayed out so i logged into my Internet account but it's still grayed out!
2. the video player on the cliq cant watch certain non flash videos because i thinks the video has high resolution but i think that when that happens the cliq should be able to reduce the resolution to its supported resolution.
3. for some videos on Internet i cant turn on high quality because of the error message. sorry the video could not be played.
4. the cliq now runs android 2.1 update1 but as soon as i go in the market i click apps then i scroll down to live wallpapers but as soon as i download and install and then open the live wallpaper it says sorry but your device currently does not support live wallpapers but you can get suppor via upgrade so motorola needs to work on getting live wallpaper support for the motorola cliq with motoblur.
5. the google earth app is missing from the android market on the cliq that needs to be fixed.
6. and i don't like the fact that i have to go to my task manager when i want to close my browser there should be an exit button with in the browser so that i can close it manually. i'm not saying to get rid of the task manager i'm just asking for more manual convenient ways to exit apps.
7. and it needs adobe flash player 10.1 support i don't want it to be preinstalled i just want it to be supported also needs the latest javascript preinstalled.
8. hey and this is just a thought the cliq may have mobi television.
9. this is another thought the cliq should have 12 home screens.
10. the motorola music widget is not resizable is needs to be.
is there anything i can do to improve flash video playback? after the 2.2 update i was excited to be able to use flash on my phone, but video playback on it seems so bad that it's unwatchable.it's like a slideshow at best, and at worse i'm only getting one frame every thirty seconds or so. oddly enough the sound never skips or stutters at all.i've tried it over wifi and 3g. Internet videos in the native app and other non-flash streaming media seem to work perfectly.i'm using the stock browser with flash player 10.2.157.51 (the latest one available in the android market), and i've tried several different videos linked from m.flash.com

But in the gallery the playback of these videos sometimes lags (video stops, audio continues or stops too) and sometimes this ends with a restart of the whole phone (display backlight shuts off, screen freezes, then NOKIA shows up and the phone starts again, without asking for PIN, resulting in the standby screen). Usually if I play the same video again, it does not lag. The video is stored on an SDHC 4GB card, class C4. I have installed the latest firmware.Any suggestions?

Nokia, is there ever gonna be flash 10 support for the n900. When I bought this phone I was under the impression that it would be (as you advertised) the ultimate internet browsing experience. How is this possible when just about every other smart phone device has flash 10 support . Without flash 10 the n900's just another device with no other exceptional features.I bought the n900 to browse the net on the go, however due to lack of flash 10 and absolutely no support from you guys (nokia), I have now moved on to android and I have no intent on looking back to any if your future devices, as I'm quite sure many other n900 users have. How can you (nokia) release a "flag ship device" and drop support for it immediately afterwards. Hell I'd hate to see what you do to non "flagship devices." And my god, it's been 7......7 MONTHS and there's still NO OVI STORE SUPPORT FOR THE N900.To any future n900 buyers viewing this thread, do not buy this device! Nokia shows absolutely no support for it for over 6 months now and the only apps available for it are from a very hard working community, and they are very few , declining and they are also very...very **bleep** at nokia.
View 23 Replies View Relatedi turn on my nokia 5800. i can play all videos on the internet and on my phone at the minute.then whenever i go to the camera i can take one picture but when i press the back button it just shows me a black screen an i cant take photos anymore, also whenever i switch to video mode it also just shows me a black screen.whenever this problem occurs i can no longer watch any videos on my phone or watch any Internet videos as i just get audio and yet again the black screen. ive just tried a soft reset and no luck.only way to fix this until i access the camera again is to turn of my phone and turn it back on but this only fixes the problem until i go on camera.anyone have a solution to this problem or had this problem before?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with continuous playback of video, Before with Anna I couuld go into gallary and my pictures and video were all in same place, in proper order. Since Belle photos are in one folder and videos in another. If I want to share these by plugging into tv instead of clicking slide show I have to play each video and pict separate. Also is there a setting for how many sec the pic stays before switching to new one. My pictures have like a good 5 to 7 sec before switching to next photo.....seems too long. ultimately I would like to have my videos and pics all in one area so I can play them all at once

Which container/bitrate/frame rate/aspect ratio would give those results? I know the resolution of the phone is 640x360 but any clips at that resolution are unable to play. I'm experimenting with combinations at the minute but it would be a lot quicker if I could just get a definite answer.Official playback specs are 640x360/??/30fps/?? but no mention of ideal bitrate, aspect ratio or container, ie MP4/3gp etc etc.

But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying "com.camera.android (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.
Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.

in the e71 the flash player, flashlite 3.0, was located in the media folder, in the e72 i cant seem to find it anywhere, nor can i play any flash files. yet under the specifications of the e72 it says flashlite 3.0 included. any ideas? yes i have tried searchinl for it using the search tool, nothing.
