After I downloaded some free apps and games (level meter, angle meter, need for speed shift) that use the phone's motion sensor, I noticed the sensor is off by a few degrees. Can this be re-calibrated in the phone (not in the app itself) or do I need to return it for repair?

I don't seem to have that trigger in the version of smart actions on my new Droid 4, though? Is that a hardware sensor limitation? Or do I need to change a setting somewhere to make that trigger come up in the list?

Nov 12, 2012When I make a phone call, or accept a phone call, it seems my phone locks the screen completely, as if I had it next to my ear (i.e. the proximity sensor), even when I don't have it anywhere near my head.
I cannot end a phone call, or switch to loudspeaker etc. - nothing.

Apr 5, 2012I have updated the latest firmware (1600.2487.8107.12070) just a week back. Even now the battery backup is not good enough as boasted by your team. The battery does not even last for 8 hrs. This is the first time am facing such a poor battery backup for a Nokia Device. Though the call end issue is resolved in this update, the proximity sensor issue still remains. The screen blanks out when the proximity sensor is activated while calling and has to be activated again to bring back the normal screen.
Steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Make a call
2. Take the handset near your ear (The proximity sensor is activated now)
3. Move it from your ear (The proximity sensor is deactivated now, but the screen is still blank)
4. Again take it near your ear and release it again (The screen is visible now)

Dec 17, 2012Proximity sensor in my lumia 920 turns the screen off even when i am holding the phone in my hand and am looking at it. It should turn it off only when I hold it up against my ear.This is verry annoying as I cannot get to the incall screen at all, not even to disconnect the call. I have to wait till the other party hangs up so that my screen can return back.

Jan 10, 2010I've just bought a 5230 and I'm really annoyed that I don't have the functionality my E51 had where if it was really dark the screen would dim down. This is an important thing to me since I tend to read at night and I dislike having to go all the way to settings and so on.
Do you know any piece of software that could change screen brightness based on the light sensor readings?I'm just amazed the phone software doesn't do that on its own but hey s60v5 is worse than s60v3...
Nokia Lumia :: Proximity Sensor Stuck In "Detected" State?
Jun 17, 2012I am unable to end calls on my Lumia 800. As soon as I hit send on a phone call, whether the phone is close to my face or not, the phone goes black, and stays black until the other end hangs up.
I went into the Diagnostics to check the Proximity Sensor and it is stuck in "Detected" mode. My phone has no screen cover and is only about a month old. There's nothing obstructing the top right side corner over the sensor. This behavior didn't begin after any update, and I have no background tasks running (though I don't believe the sensor is available via the APIs anyways).
Since there's a ton of people on xda-developers with the same issue, is there any fix to this or is my phone faulty? Is Nokia aware of this and has there been any effort to contact providers or Lumia 800 customers to let them know this is a major, wide reaching problem with this phone?

Lumia 950 :: Phone Proximity Sensor Not Working
Nov 26, 2015Where the 950's proximity sensor is located? I want to make sure my screen protector isn't covering it. It appears to be to the left of the camera. If that's the case then my problem shouldn't be the screen protector as whatever is to the left of the camera is not covered..
Whenever I dial a number my screen goes black as soon as I hit the call button. It does not wait until I put the phone up to my ear as my 920 and 640 do. I have to hit my power button twice to get the screen back. It's acting as if the proximity sensor is stuck on activated.
Lumia 1020 :: Extracting And Using Sensor In Camera Assembly
Jun 23, 2015I am trying to use the awesome camera sensor in the Nokia Lumia 1020 for research purposes.
Unfortunately, my screen is broken so the screen is completely black. The 3 keys at the bottom (The back,windows and search keys) still work, but I don't know if the touch screen is still working. I tried projecting the phone to a PC using the Project my Screen app, but I still need to press the "allow screen projection" button on my phone, and that is proving difficult since I can't see anything.
So my question is: is it possible to disassemble the phone, extract the camera assembly out of the phone, and use the camera sensor remotely, when it is severed from the phone itself? If so, what means are there to connect the camera assembly/sensor to my computer?
