Nokia :: E75 Ovi Maps Few Quires To Put On Forum

A year ago I bought the brand new Nokia E75 'flagship model' that was replacing Communicator. Before I had N95 and was quite happy with that. What I first found out was that the software on E75 was slow and buggy. Well, updates shall follow, I thought to myself. In any case, there were also improvements, like A-GPS which worked A LOT better than the GPS on N95.Not many months went by when the plastic part of the outer 'metal' casing below the keypad started falling off. I went to the Aleksanterinkatu flagship store and they told me to go to Mobile Spa next door to get it fixed. What I found out was that there was a 1-2 weeks waiting time. It would cost me 35 euros to get it fixed fast. Ok, well, I use the phone for work everyday and the loan phone was **bleep** so I forked out the 35 euros and the phone was fixed within 1 hour.
However, the plastic part came off 2 weeks after. Again. I went back to Mobile Spa and they told me that it would be either 1-2 weeks waiting or another 35 euros. **bleep**!!! At that point I was furious. I paid (or my company) like 500 euros for the damn thing and the build quality is this bad! Why is there plastic anyway when the other outer casing is metal?After now using the phone for a while, I started getting random error messages about C: memory running low. I couldn't even install/update applications due to this. So, I thought I'd hard reset the phone and reinstall it altogether. I found the code for hardreset by googling, since the "great" new Ovi Suite doesn't seem to do it. Ovi Suite is pretty useless also for connecting to internet (since it seems to randomly offer "Connect to Internet" on the righthand side and doesn't have a clear route to doing it.

So, anyway, after hard reset, it was time to reconfigure the phone. It is always fun, endless menus to set e-mail notification sounds off and language to English and so on and so on. That's all tolerable since I'm used to the Nokia menus and it's even kinda fun to customize the phone to my liking, despite the confusing menus.

However, one of the most important features of my phone is the navigation (which I've been forced to purchase since E75 doesn't come with free navigation like the other phones). So, I start Maps on the phone. After loading 30% of the application, I get an error message saying "Cannot open application. Install latest version from nokia.com/maps". Oh, well, the damn thing doesn't offer me automatic update? What the hell?! So, logically, I go to nokia.com/maps on my phone's browser... Well, too heavy. So I stick the phone to my laptop using USB and browse to the Nokia.com/maps. I go to "Free Downloads" and find a pull down menu where I'm supposed to choose my phone model. Well, E75 isn't on the list. Below the pull down menu there is a link "for other phone models click here". Another glorious **bleep**-moment. So, I click on it. And find E75 in the other list. The instruction says that I should download the SIS file, open it with Ovi Suite and install it to the phone. I do that but, SURPRISE my phone says it doesn't support SIS files and Ovi Suite then rushes to inform me about the same thing.Ok, I count slowly to 10. I try to open the SIS file from my phones File Manager. No luck. Then I think to myself "oh, but Nokia has this thing called Ovi Store which has all the apps, right? Surely if I search for 'Maps' there, I can find Ovi Maps for my device". Well, when I searched Ovi Store on my E75 for Maps, I get apps like Dad's Cab and When I start Nokia Maps Updater on my PC, it says that another instance of Maps or something else is running. I close everything related to Nokia and try again. Now it says that the Maps Updater "cannot get enough information from the phone" and crashes.
