Been using this for ages, roaming and all over - always convincing folk that its a thinking persons BB. But it seemed to have stopped working on thurs 4th for some reason. Have the green circle and all the screen looks good, all other apps work fine FB and Twitter.
View 4 RepliesIt would seem that there are a number of people with E72 and Nokia Messaging (email.nokia.com) that have recently started to experience problems with their service. I can now add myself to that list.
As of yesterday Nokia Messaging stopped updating on my E72. I have made no changes and not installed anything on my E72 for weeks. However, Nokia Messaging is working properly on my E71 (I use the same Nokia Messaging account on both my E71 and my E72).

Incidentally, I am an IT-consultant and one of my rapidly expanding clients has asked me for alternatives to their current BlackBerry Enterprise Server solution due to the high costs associated with their setup. I was tempted to suggest E72 and Nokia Messaging as cost efficient alternative to BlackBerry Bold and BES. However, the low reliability of Nokia Messaging as well as no dedicated support has gotten me to think twice before I dare to suggest that to my clients.
The Nokia Messaging email widget just stopped working at 5pm Pacific Daylight Time on Tuesday, July 27. Now every time I open up the email widget, it keeps asking me for my password and says login unsuccessful when I enter the password and try to login.Just an hour earlier, it was working fine.
By the way, I'm in Vancouver, Canada.
I have an Optus issue E71 now with a Telstra SIM and the NM stopped working when the free trial stopped. I didn't get any text to tell me how to sign up for the paid Telstra provided NM. Does anyone know what I have to do to get NM charged on my monthly Telstra bill?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm probably going to have to take this in to the local US Cellular store to see if they can figure out what is going on. I tried sending texts to three different individuals this morning and all are not going through. Initially I was using Go SMS Pro as my default SMS program. Thinking something may be messed up with that program, I switched my default SMS program to the phone's Text Messaging program. Still cannot send or receive any messages. I am on a business plan (which my wife is on as well). She is receiving and sending texts fine. I tried sending her a test text, and it tells me "Message Not Sent". I had her send a test text to me. It shows that it sends fine on her end, but I never get anything.
Is there any error log I can look at to see what's going on? I have powered my phone off and on 3 times already this morning and that hasn't fixed the issue. Any suggestions or am I just going to have to take it in? I hate doing that because they're just going to do a Factory Reset I'm sure since they aren't too good on the technical side of things.
Last week my gmail inbox in the phone went empty. I have realized that my 97 is not syncing any more. I have tried to re-install the software (nokia messaging) but without results. I don't want to contact Nokia because they will only ask me to do a hard reset and I am sick of doing that.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia E71 with latest NMessaging (9.06.24) installed. It worked like a charm for the last 1.5 months but on Feb. 5 Inbox stopped syncing. I have the only mailbox on Gmail connected. The connection icon is green and round as it is supposed to be. Manual Sync clicking does the icon rolling and then nothing happens. My new incoming emails are not in the list. Sent folder is synced just fine. Previous e-mails also work perfectly as I can download truncated messages and attachments. Gmail's own app works perfectly and downloads all new messages.
Nokia, what happened? If you intended Eseries as a Blackberry competitor it is the worst move to disregard the key functionality like emails.Also I purposefully don't want to reinstall anything. Why should I? It is a branded service that must work without "surgery" of any kind. How I can rely on such service that giving no warning just stops working.
You should concentrate on this very important issue and provide you official solution.
Suddenly nokia messaging stopped synching on my telephone (N97) at 5th of february 10:00 am (dutch time)The log file shows the following:
Sync: last sync failed
Info sync modus: slow (strange because its set to fastest in the application settings)
Error: end of file (error -25) Error in Eaplugin
Infosync: stopped
What did I do this morning: Re-entered passwords for mailaccounts, re-entered password for mainaccount by nokia messaging, re-installed nokia messaging, re-booted my N97 several times...Nothing helped so far, i'm still not receiving mail on the accounts which I set up with nokia messaging. These are @hotmail, @live end @gmail accounts.
Nokia messaging decided to stop receiving emails last week, even when i clicked send receive. Yesterday i reflashed and today i deleted and readded the email accounts on the email.nokia.com site. My emails came through and i thought it was fixed, and now, just half hour later, it's stopped receiving again.

Lately my phone was halfway fell into water, and did not work all the keys. Then, after a while, all keys were operated.
Yesterday, after I installed some software on my phone, messaging one-touch key stop working.
I did hard restart, but have same problem.
I have been trying to set up Nokia Messaging for a few days now. I've read all the info I can find on the net regarding it - others have fixed it, but I still cannot.
Any email address I enter into the email setup wizard gives the familiar message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again."
I have already installed the latest version of Nokia Messaging. I have tried my Ovi address, Gmail address, Hotmail address, Yahoo! address and an 'other' address with the same result.
Logging on to email.nokia.com with a PC allows me to enter my mobile number (with and without the '0' at the beginning of my Australian mobile) and choose my phone (N97). Clicking next opens a page which advises me to log on to email.nokia.com with my mobile browser. Doing so brings me to a download page for the latest version of messenger which I already have.
I cannot log in to Nokia Messenger online as I cannot create an account. Attempting to sign up brings me back to the enter your mobile number and choose your phone page. Dead end.
Up until yesterday the Nokia Messaging app worked superbly with my E72.But then it wasn't able to connect to the messaging servers and instead kept asking me for my password to the Nokia Messaging service. As I sadly forgot it I tried to retrieve it and therefore got a temporary password from the Nokia Messaging team. My problem is now that even with it I couldn't log in to my account and set up a new password.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently performed a firmware update and hard reset on my 5800 and all looked bright until tried using the email function. Despite having "Nokia messaging" installed I cant get any account to use it, all accounts (not just the 2 assocated with the account) are added to the default message folders, instead being handled by Nokia messaging. Also a friend unhelpfully now cancelled my "Nokia Email" account associated with the email addresses in an effort to help. There any way to reactivate this account?

I have a Nokia Messaging account that I created during the first appear of Nokia Messaging service and now with Movistar Spain subscription. In my account I have 2 Google Mail Accounts (Normal and Apps), a MobileMe account and Yahoo IMAP (spanish address) account.
All the accounts work correctly except Yahoo account. What happen? That I have emails in the inbox of mail mobile 3 days old, the old emails from third day suddenly became unreaded, I open to read, and are marked as read, but after some time (30min, 1hour) or some time like this became unreaded suddenly. For example today some emails, in the case of today 15 emails from 13th of january became unread again again and again.
It's annoying because with this behaviour there's no way to know how really new emails you have and also for every time the email is marked as unread the mobile spend time and battery notifying me. There's someone else that has this problem? Any propose or solution?
I try to delete the Yahoo account in my Nokia Messaging account and create a new one with the address, but the problem come back again and again. A solution could be to classify all the email every day in folders keeping my Inbox of Yahoo account in server clean, but there's some day that I have no time to do this work.
I have been using Nokia email messaging for a while now but suddenly today it is asking me for a Password. I understand that this should be the password for the first email account that I set up on the E71. I have tried this as well as the password for the other account with no success.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNM on my E72 stopped today. The password is wrong, eventhough it is definitely the correct password. Other weird thing, the usernames somehow got mixed around between the 2 email addresses I have signed up. It worked just fine until about midday.
Tonight, I went to the NM website on my PC to see what is going wrong.I'm getting a warning about a wrong security certificate.Does everybody get this? I've never gotten it before, but it's been ages since I visited the NM web site.
I've recently bought a nokia 820 and am having trouble with the messaging app. In my settings-ringtones+sounds, I've got the ringer on, and the new text or IM set to a sound, the 'play a sound for' everything is checked. However when I receive an SMS neither the messaging live tile updates to reflect this, nor does any sound alert me. The phone is set to ring+vibrate, is there somewhere else I'm not checking?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E71 just update to the firmware 410.21.010. I did not recovered backup after the upgrade and I formatted the memory card, so it's completely clean.
Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. It's strange, because I have a different E71 also update to this same firmare and Nokia Messaging works fine and creates the Nokia Messaging account.How could use Nokia Messaging with my E71?. Is there some way to create a Nokia Messaging account form the web instead from the phone?.
My E72 has started playing up recently. First it wouldn't recognize when I remove/insert earphones and would permanently think earphones were in, so couldn't make calls etc because I wouldn't be able to hear anything. Now the screen seems to have stopped working. I get lights on the keypad and can connect it to my pc but can see nothing on the screen, is completely blank. I noticed just before this happened it would seem to struggle to come off screen saver when I unlocked the keypad i.e. would take a long time and the screen would look messed up for a few seconds before coming round. I'm also pretty sure i've noticed a red light flash where the flash is once or twice since its stopped working.
I tried updating firmware to sort the earphone problem and the screen has died since then. Tried hard resetting to to avail. Have only got this phone relatively recently to replace another nokia that failed... really not happy about this...
Got an E72 last week and went throug the e-mail setup and added a hotmail account and it worked fine. After three days or so the e-mails just stopped coming into the phone. When I checked my hotmail account on my PC I found a lot of new mails. I tried to delete the account and add it again. The result is an empty inbox. When I try to sync It says that it is connected to hotmail and that it is updating but I donīt get any e-mails to the phone.Any ideas what could have happend and how to solve this. I think I have changed all the settings and tried everyting and read a lot of threads on diffrent forums but I canīt find an answer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to open Nokia Ovi Player a message comes up saying 'a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if there is a solution available. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled the program and followed advice I saw on another discussion page to delete something through my local disc/program data/nokia - can't remember the name of the file I deleted but it didn't make any difference. I'm using windows vista. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

I now have the Custom version indicated. Before the upgrade I had set up VoIP on the phone to work with my Asterisk server. Now the upgrade is done, it doesn't work. No error messages appear on the phone or the Asterisk server in fact, nothing appears to happen at all.

Now, sometimes the external speakers of the mobile phone stop working and for the same, I went to Nokia care 3 times (infact, this happened thrice) they rectified it, but it has started again. My phone is still in warranty but I am afraid that once the warranty is over, they will start charging for the service. Is there any way to get a new phone from Nokia ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt first I set up my email just like I had it on my E71. I have 3 accounts on nokia messaging. It worked for about 3 weeks, until one day I just stopped recieving emails. The mailboxes would no connect. When I open the mail box, the circle in the right hand corner, is always Red, used to be green, but now its red.
So I try to connect manually, I go to options and click connect. But it won't connect, I try to synchronize by clicking send and receive but nothing, its simply won't connect to the mail box. I think it might have something to do with the access point. This new E72 is really frustrating me. I miss my E71's simplicity and reliability. Anyone know how I can fix my email problem? This is useless to me without push email.
