Feb 23, 2010Just updated my E72 with latest firmware and later noticed that my time has changed. Nepal time zone is now GMT +0:00 whereas it should be GMT +5:45.

Nokia Nseries :: Shift Of Russians Time Zones?
Dec 5, 2011About half of year ago in Russia was passed the low, that we don't transfer to winter time. About two mounths ago my nokia 5230 transfer to winter time. I wait update program every day, becouse my clock wrong to me.I try to tune clock by hand and change time zone, but GPS disordered my clock everytime. I try to get help from russian call center, but them except as standart phrases "The Developers know about this problems, We don't know nothing, Just wait and belive, The developers develop development... bla bla bla" and nothing more. I like my phone very much (much more than all Android and Iphones taken one with another) but i think that case is irresponsibility of Nokia Company and its Russian offices.

Jun 20, 2014Before the most recent update my phone occasionally change time zone from eastern to central. After the update I pretty much lost the ability to automatically connect to LTE, it would mostly only connect by toggling airplane mode or the CDMA CDMA/LTE mode. Spoke with HTC which suggested remove and re-install sim card.I followed HTC suggestion.
After phone rebooted it connected to LTE but was stuck in Central Time Zone for about 4 hours, then the phone finally went back to Eastern Time Zone.My LTE issue seems resolved but the phone continues to revert back to Central Time 4 to 5 times per day for up to a half an hour each time regardless of where I am locally.I know I can manually set my time zone but I dont think I should have to do that.In CDMA only mode the phone is fine.

Jun 27, 2012When I recently flew to the East Coast, all my iCal appointments shifted 3 hours. Thus appointments I had at 9 am rang at 6 am, etc. It had shifted all my appointments by 3 hours. How can I get iCal to not shift appointment times as I cross time zones?

Feb 26, 2012After using the coached interval feature a couple of times, I have noticed a problem. Once my other workouts are synced, the table in the heart rate zones tab shows the total number of minutes spent in each individual heart rate zone. This is not happening with the programmed interval workouts. I know my zones are being recorded because of the feedback I get during the workout and the color coded graph portion seems to be accurate. The table on my recent 25 minute interval workout reads 1:55 in Z2, 2:32 in Z3, 0:36 in Z4, and 0:00 in both Z1 and Z5. Clearly these durations do not add up.

Oct 12, 2015I updated my Z3 Dual to 5.1.1 Build 23.4.A.1.200 (Hong Kong) a few days ago. I found that my touchscreen has some "dead zones" when playing games or typing on the keyboard, mainly a vertical line about 2cm from the left of the screen and also a bit on the lower right.

Nokia :: 5800 Xpressmusic Battery Time Only 18hours After V50.0.005 Firmware Upgrade
Apr 26, 2010My 5800 used to retain battery power for 3-4 days of normal usage until my upgrade to the latest firmware. Firstly the FOTA failed. After restart it popped a "System Error" after"installing..." The Music Player also screwed and used to continously show "Fixing Corrupted Library files..(something like that)". Then i used OVI suite to transfer music and it temporarily fixed the issue. But then i used the USB connection with Nokia Software Updater and reinstalled the firmware. all the problems were fixed. But i observed that the Battery life has now reduced to just about 18 hours!! I am not sure if its indeed the firmware but most likely so. I also did a soft reset without realising that i would lose all the smses and contact data Anway, main issue is batterypower consumption. The Nokia Energy Profiler shows a current consumption of about 170mA. It was same even before the soft reset.

This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.

Jun 9, 2010I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).

Apr 6, 201022.007 has been out since forever, and it's basically only the second update since this phone was introduced. Has Nokia forgotten the E72? It sure needs a firmware update:
-Little available memory, applications (especially the browser with a big website) terminate for nothing and "memory full" messages occur very frequently. This is actually the biggest issue.
-The camera application sometimes is quite buggy and even the phone restarts after a photo is taken.
-videos have some lag, especially if you zoom while shooting and using the phone memory doesn't help very much.
-sometimes (especially in the ovi store app) if you start typing in a box the first two letters appear in the opposite order than typed.
-The gallery application can't be terminated using the app manager (by pressing the home button for a couple of seconds) when the app is hidden.
-The trackpad sensitivity could be improved (especially when using it in the browser).

Mar 14, 2010I'm currently running firmware version 20.2.019 and when I put my phone's info (RM-507, product code 0576111) into Nokia's website it tells me V21.2.045 is available. However, when I try to download the firmware via OTA or NSU, it tells me no updates are available. What would be preventing me from updating the firmware? Is there another way to download it or is my only option sending the phone to Nokia?

It has rendered the music player almost unusable!
With the previous music player, you could press the "Back" button and it would take you to your list of music or podcasts. Now the "Back" button just dumps you all the way out to the phone's home screen (just like the end button.) Now, in order to go to your playlist you have to "options", "go to music library", "albums (or podcasts or playlist etc)" then find the album or playlist you were playing, then find your song or track. That's 5 more steps than necessary. The back button is very inportant with the way this media player was designed. You can't just eliminate it in such a way. What good is the improved scroling in the music player if you take away our ability to navigete.
This would be such an easy fix. Just make the Music player's "Back" buton do what it used to do instead of duplicating what the "end call" button already does.
The media player on a device is very inportant. The one on this device is very ordinary. But i put up with it because I am a loyal and very very patient nokia user. I waited 8 long months for this update. And now you just took my media player away. You are very close to making a 12 year nokia user switch to Android. Nokia, please give me back my "back" button. and don't make me wait a long time for it.

Nokia :: E72 Firmware Update / Not Rebooting
Jan 21, 2010I've just attempted to update my E72 to the latest firmware using the OTA feature. In fact I made the upgrade via my WIFI connection. The downlod succeeded, then the E72 updated the firmware and rebooted.The problem is that my E72 isn't rebooting at all. After it switched off (for the reboot cycle) it could not start anymore.When I'm powering it on, the display shows some background activities, then there is a line and finally it switches off.It seems that the firmware update broke the OS. Has anyone encountered a similar behavior ?

Mar 13, 2010Finally got my mitts on one of these amazing phones and loving everything about it.However the euphoria is being slowly eroded by Vodafone's lack of support and knowledge of the device.Since taking delivery of the handset on 4th of March, it and I have been unable to find any firmware updates through the normal channels (Nokia's own update page, NSU and the OTA update search can't find any updates beyond the 1.2009.42-11.205.1). According to Vodafone the latest firmware for the device should be 2.2009.51.1.
I know there's a Maemo Flashing Tool available and have downloaded it and the firmware, but I can't get an answer from Vodafone whether this will void my Vodafone warranty.
I'm concerned that as it won't update now, it won't update when Meego hits the servers.

Feb 7, 2010I recently bought an N97, apparently I got the non-original one. Can the non-original N97 get the firmware update? I'm having a lot of trouble with this. When I plug the USB cable in to my phone, and then the cable in to the computer, the Mass Storage works, and when I put COM PORT, it said it needed a driver and installed in the MT6225. But here's the big issue. PC SUITE won't detect my phone. Nokia Software Updater won't detect my phone. I'd really like to update the firmware....
I'm also having some trouble with the games and themes. When I put them on my memory card via cable / Mass Storage, I can't run them. I click on the options and there is no "use" or "play". Just forward, details, mark, delete, and some of the other basic options.

Feb 1, 2010I live in Canada and bought the phone unlocked off Dell USA. I don't think there are any service stations in Canada. I was updating to 2.1 and the phone disconntected while updating. It was not physically disconnected, it just... got disconnected by windows... And now the updater is just spinning its wheels. What can I do to restore my phone...?
