After upgrading to FW 22.007 the musicplayer will not play m4a files stored with a Bit speed of 258 Kbps and 44,1 khz sampling rate, the previous FW had no problem. also a 5800Expresmusic has no problem playing the file.
Can anybody come up with a possible solution or have heard rumours of another FW update which will bring this back to normal (other than having to convert all my music to lower bitrate ?)

I just purchased the really magnificent phone 6720. I have a problem playing songs I have bought in iTunes with the non-DRM'ed format .m4a.
The player seems to recognize the tracks as playable and imports them to the library alright. But when playing a particular song the player skips to the next after a brief attempt. It looks like a bug.If I side-load my SD-card with the exact same tracks into other S60 devices there are no problems at all. So: 6720c doesn't work!!! N85 works 5800 works 5320 works
When I receive e-mails on my N8 with an appendix video file with a " .mov" extension it is not possible to open these files and it is not possible to save the files.

I just got the 1020 as an upg from the 920. I can access the 920 camera roll via sky drive but none of the videos I took with the 920 are playing on the 1020.

I tried converting several lossless FLAC files (192/24) to a lossless WMA (96/24) to listen to on Lumia 920. The conversion went fine and I checked the resulting files by playing them on the computer. They played fine as expected (no difference from the original). However transferred on a 920 those started to exhibit quantization noise and somewhat degraded sound. I don't have extraordinary expectations for the audio hardware in a phone but at times it was very noticeable - the part where a song fades into silence at its end and has prominent quantization noise (intermittent quick patches of noise/faint sound and silence) is a prime example. If the files were played back at 24 bit resolution that wouldn't have happened for sure. Also, perhaps, that wouldn't be noticeable much if there were proper ditering algorithms in place. None of this appears to be happening inside the Lumia's music player or hardware.
I am a hardcore user of nokia c5-00 for almost 9 months. I am happy with everything except for the fact that the inbuilt real player cannot play rmvb files without flaws. Whereas i have a another player which plays the same files like charm.
Just got my xperia play (very nice by the way), and it alleges to have support for WMA files for music, however, when I try and copy these over I get the message saying the file needs to be converted otherwise it won't play ... is that correct? My last SE phone worked fine for WMA ....
I'm wondering how to get my M8 to play .mov files sent from IOS users. There are probably plenty of other incompatible types of files, too (divx? flac?)
I Have a HTC One s with a GoSmart sim card. I have had this phone for over 5 months with no problems. On New Years eve, my phone was acting weird and couldnt play any music files. When i would play it song, it would say "Unable to play this type of audio file" Then i try to play a video on youtube, and it would say "There was a problem while playing touch to retry" Nothing that had to do with sound worked. Alarms, ringtones, and even phone calls wouldnt work.
When someone would call me, it would be silent, and when i answered, no sound would come out. I restored my phone to it's factory settings and at first it didnt work, i restarted my phone like 2 times after restoring it, and it worked. I was able to listen to music, play videos, and talk on the phone. This only lasted 5 days. i dont want to go through the hassle of restoring my phone again.

I would like to be able to play quicktime (.mov) files on my iphone4s but I get a message that my file cannot be played on this iphone.

I simply want to navigate to a folder of music (mp3 files, which I've copied to the microSD card via USB before) and play the content of this folder.Of course it's no problem to navigate to the first song in the folder and play it, (via gallery -> 'my microSD' for example), what I'm missing is the 'automatically advance to next mp3 and play it' functionality.Currently it stops after every song and I have to engage play manually again.
The data sheet of the BB Bold 9700 says that the video format mp4 as well as the avi format is supported. But when I start a mp4 file only the audio is working. The error message: "the video part is not supported". The avi file format is not supported at all: "cannot open the file".
I'm trying to listen to a radio broadcast via the Australian Football League's website (url..)When I click the radio station button the browser displays a message to either install Microsoft Silverlight or open the link in the default media player.Selecting the media player option then brings up options to open using either the Video Player or the Internet. If I select Video Player a message is displayed "UNABLE TO PLAY VIDEO".If I select Internet an ASF file is downloaded. If I click on the file, the Video Player is opened and a message is displayed "UNSUPPORTED FILE TYPE"
