After upgrading to FW 22.007 the musicplayer will not play m4a files stored with a Bit speed of 258 Kbps and 44,1 khz sampling rate, the previous FW had no problem. also a 5800Expresmusic has no problem playing the file.
Can anybody come up with a possible solution or have heard rumours of another FW update which will bring this back to normal (other than having to convert all my music to lower bitrate ?)
I Have a HTC One s with a GoSmart sim card. I have had this phone for over 5 months with no problems. On New Years eve, my phone was acting weird and couldnt play any music files. When i would play it song, it would say "Unable to play this type of audio file" Then i try to play a video on youtube, and it would say "There was a problem while playing touch to retry" Nothing that had to do with sound worked. Alarms, ringtones, and even phone calls wouldnt work.
When someone would call me, it would be silent, and when i answered, no sound would come out. I restored my phone to it's factory settings and at first it didnt work, i restarted my phone like 2 times after restoring it, and it worked. I was able to listen to music, play videos, and talk on the phone. This only lasted 5 days. i dont want to go through the hassle of restoring my phone again.

I simply want to navigate to a folder of music (mp3 files, which I've copied to the microSD card via USB before) and play the content of this folder.Of course it's no problem to navigate to the first song in the folder and play it, (via gallery -> 'my microSD' for example), what I'm missing is the 'automatically advance to next mp3 and play it' functionality.Currently it stops after every song and I have to engage play manually again.

I just purchased the really magnificent phone 6720. I have a problem playing songs I have bought in iTunes with the non-DRM'ed format .m4a.
The player seems to recognize the tracks as playable and imports them to the library alright. But when playing a particular song the player skips to the next after a brief attempt. It looks like a bug.If I side-load my SD-card with the exact same tracks into other S60 devices there are no problems at all. So:
6720c doesn't work!!!
N85 works
5800 works
5320 works

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a relatively new user to this phone, and so I have been trying to get my music files (mp3 format) onto my phone.I have bought a new 32GB sd card to load them on, and some files will play, but most state they can't play.I have tried a transfer using file copying, and also used MediaGo, but I still get similar results. The mp3 files play correctly on my computer (Windows Media Player) and on my iPOD, so I think the files should be ok.Are there specific sampling bit rates needed for the Xperia?Further to this thread, I have now ripped some original cd's in various formats and bit rates (Mp3 to WAV), and it makes little difference to their ability to play. Some do, but mostly they don't. I can't find any common factor.
Finally getting somewhere .... I think there is a problem with the new 32Gb MicroSD. Its rated class 10, so its maybe faulty or too fast???I replaced the sd with the one that came with the phone, which is 2Gb (no class stated), and everything plays fine with this.
My phone is no longer to play any of my media files, it recognizes the number of files on my device but as I select any of the files it says 'unable to play content'.I have never seen this screen

i say this as i use firefox to download from Internet or whatever and it saves it in flv format. i'm going on a fairly long trip so i am preparing some things to watch so need to know which format.
The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 is supposed to support AVI files. As the hardware seems identical to the XOOMs is this something (software) that will be coming to the XOOM/Honeycomb or is this proprietary to Samsung.
