I have recently brought an e52 which is great. The only thing is that I notice that its always got the two arrows under the 3.5g on... when I hold hang up it asks if I would like to disconnect the service, to which I reply YES, only to find its reconnected 3 minutes later.I have turned off the email checking, and ask it to check for new mail every 4 hours. But it still always on, I have also checked for open apps and preformed a soft reset on the device... the problem still pursuits.
Nokia Internet Modem displays in the device selection dropdownlist the word "Ricerca..." (italian word for "Searching...", i think); when I connect the stick to usb the device selection displays "Inizializzazione di Nokia.." (in english Initialization of Nokia...); after 1 second the device selection return to display "Ricerca" and after 10 seconds it shows "inizializzazione di Nokia.." for 1 second and so on.
I have a Nokia 5530 Express Music and I am asking: can I connect to the internet with my PC, using the phone's WiFi modem? The PC Suite only allows connecting to the internet through 3G. I would be very pleased if someone answers me. Thank you.Message Edited by hellsgrimtyrant on 02-Jan-2010 12:16 PM
I have a Nokia E63 on 3, it reports its symbian software version as 200.21.012. My wireless router is a Netgear DG834PN. It has a WPA2-PSK key code set up, and my laptop works fine with the wireless. It is set up to use DHCP, has MAC address filtering turned OFF. The network is public (not set to hidden). If i try to connect my nokia E63 to the wireless then when i try to access the internet, it gives an error stating ' no gateway reply'. Power Saving is disabled. I have tried setting the IP address manually and still it gives the error. I have also tried re-setting the router, to no avail. The only way i got it to work was by disabling all security on the router (making it an open network) which, whilst this is fine for testing, i do not want to run it as an open network, it must run with WPA2-PSK security.
I've got a small problem. I'm trying to access the internet on my laptop through the e63 and it doesnt work.I connect both things with a usb cable, click "Connect PC to web" then the software starts and says "Preparing your Nokia e63" and then it says "Currently there's no network available". What do I do wrong? I have unlimited internet on the phone with Three.co.uk and it works fine, but on the phone only. Please help
I use an E71 as a SIP client to an Avaya PBX, and all works great.I have tried with an E52 and it will not register and the reason I think is random characters in the REGISTER Contact field: (In RED) The PBX returns a Bad request message. 92031914mS SIP Reg/Opt Rx: phone REGISTER sip:192.168.42.50 SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.42.81:5060;branch=z9hG4bK3h8j4oi8ghhc7nt08ksrq52;rport From: <sip:804@192.168.42.50>;tag=qma34onsu9hc6ias8ksr To: <sip:804@192.168.42.50> Contact: <sip:2XB5Zxan2ZX144ckHIIW@192.168.42.81>;expires=3600 CSeq: 23980 REGISTER Call-ID: Hq0OoFgvoIfOCAkV-706dKOWSmpRVt User-Agent: Nokia RM-469 021.013 Max-Forwards: 70 Content-Length: 0 92031915mS SIP Reg/Opt Tx: phone SIP/2.0 400 Bad Request Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.42.81:5060;branch=z9hG4bK3h8j4oi8ghhc7nt08ksrq52;rport
The E71 sends this correctly.I had to download SIP_VoIP_3_x_Settings_v2_0_en.sis to get it to work as well and this seemd to intall OK.In fact all looks good to go apart from the REGISTER

I have a brand new E72. I have set up some email accounts and installed some application which has automatic update abilities. I found that it consume quite a lot battery when I enable auto update, usually I need to recharge my phone every 2 days. Therefore, I turned off all automatic update includes sync of email. The problem is that my phone still keeps on asking me 'Select Connection' if I want to connect using Wifi, WAP or Internet. First of all, I do not know which app requires the connection. This is definitely a UI improvement! How can I know which app requires the connection! I know there's a similar post here /t5/Eseries-Devices-and/E72-Keeps-on-asking-me-how-to-connect-WAP-or-Internet/td-p/637574 but I think the problem is different.
I have a brand new E72. I have set up MS Exchange, Gmail and a POP3 accounts. The problem is that my phone keeps on asking me 'Select Connection' if I want to connect using Wifi, WAP or Internet. First of all, I do not know which app requires the connection. This is definitely a UI improvement! How can I know which app requires the connection!Let's assume it is my mails accounts which try to connect (I have played with the Control Panel / App Manager). The issue is I cannot find how to tell my mail accounts I want to force the connections to Vodafone Internet 'Contract Internet'.
It seems that I can only select the connection point for my first email account and not for the remaining ones.. Is that correct? That's a bug.

Found a cool site for internet radio which you can personalise to your liking. Just thought I'd share http://www.moodio.fm. Now maybe I can listen to football updates while at work just need to find the right station. Hit Kudos if I Helped out. I have an N97 with 3 and I used to be able to connect to the internet and download with no issues. Since a firmware update a few weeks ago every time I try and connect to the internet the phones starts looking for a WLAN connection, rather than "connecting via 3" like it used to.
I bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet. I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away.
Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later. I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up. I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any way.
i have 2 annoying problems with my Nokia X6 16GB: Problem 1: I cannot browse the internet using a wireless LAN Connection (WLAN). i manage to connect to my wireless network at home but every time i want to go to a website i get the following error 'invalid server name'. i used the connection wizard to connect. i added my home network as 'access point' , nothing seems to work. i thought maybe it is a firmware problem. now the latest firmware release is 21.0.004 i still have 20.0.005. so i tried to update my firmware using the 'nokia software updater'. which brings me to my next problem: Problem 2: Nokia software updater says i have already the latest firmware while i read on the site of nokia the latest firmware for my phone is 21.0.004. how's that possible? since i can't get the new firmware using the 'nokia software update', does anyone know how i can? i do not want to use the software updater on my phone since i have a prepaid SIM card, and connecting to the internet would cost me a lot of money. I've read somewhere that the software was not available 'in each region'. i live in Belgium (small country in West Europe), can i check anywhere if the software is available 'in my region'?
how to use gps without internet connection ?? I`m in Romania, I installed romanian map and voice and also have the latest software upgrade but when I search a city from Romania (searching offline) it doesnt exist, and on my friend 5800 with v40 gps its working perfect.
I am connected to Wi-Fi but unable to connect to the internet like FB,Yahoo or other websites. My sister used to connect to wifi but now that I am using her handset, I cannot do so.
after i changed teh carrier provider, my internet emails (yahoo,...etc.) are not accessible & setup email returns the message :internet service account deactivated..Is this something from the service provider or from blackberry; any actions to be done from my side?
I have only two internet 'destinations' configured: #1 - WiFi via my home 802.11g router -- Priority 1 -- use access point automatically #2 - Packet data via service provider O2 -- Priority 2 -- use access point after confirmation Both links work. However, despite the WiFi link being configured as "priority 1" and to connect automatically, when connecting to online services, e.g. BBC iPlayer, web-browsing, Facebook, etc. the phone *always* tries to use the packet data connection first. Even if go to the connectivity page and manually connect the WiFi so that the link is established and the icon is displayed, launching iPlayer frustratingly tries to use packet data! Firmware is up to date as of today -- V50.0.005.
I just updated my E72 yesterday and apart from fixed bugs, now I've got more serious problems. I couldn't connect to the internet for sure. It says "No connection available". Besides, when I look into my contacts, I couldn't use the search mode. It says "Building cache. Search will be available in a moment."I've done everything, from re-update the same firmware version and also restoring phone settings, hard reset. Nothing happened. Not fixed.
I got a Nokia E72 the other week, and as Orange mucked up my phone plan, I am without internet (apart from off peak time) for another month. My phone seems to just randomly connect to the Internet and I can't work out how to turn it off.I'm worried I may have a big bill at the end of the month!

I have problem for connecting N79 to PC I use OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245. when i connect PC to internet via OVI suite for first time , there isnt any problem and connects to internet and all webpages completely are loaded , but after a few minutes my browser doesnt work and doesnt load any page and shows " server not found". but the connection between the PC and mobile still exists. after that i disconnect the connection and reconnect but this time the connection doesnt establish and shows an error with the content of "PPP link". after that i go to "device manager" and disable the Nokia GSM Modem and then enable that. then i connect PC to internet via OVI Suite with no problem AGAIN!. there isnt any problem for loading page But AGAIN after some minutes the browser doesnt work ! recently I reinstalled windows XP, but still nothing changes!. even i use latest Nokia Connectivity cable driver version 7.1.31.0. my cellphone has RM-348
