I've read on another site how to get into Red Pill Mode to enable deb packages installation the easy way for beginners but I don't seem to be able to do what the instructions say. I am using 10.2010.19-1.203.1. Has it been disabled in this version of the OS?

I perfer automatic and scenes mode which is easiler for me but I want it to be the best resolution is there any way because I couldn't find the setting?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy N900 only seems to be able to connect to PC Suite in 'non-compatibility' mode.This mode doesnt allow me to use any of the PC suite applications.How do I change the mode to 'compatibility' mode, or the 'normal' mode so everything works!No options appear on the phone when the USB cable is connected for PC Suite, like it should do? The phone is automatically charged via the connection though.

I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode.This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
I have just upgraded my Nokia N73 to the E72 and am very very disappointed with the picture quality of the camera.
It does not appear to be the same quality as the Carl Zeiss lens of my old N73 and many pictures seem to be out of focus. It has annoying habit of when i try to take a quick snap of continually asking me to chose a shooting mode and the therefore the moment has gone. I also use this camera function for my work and unless I can find advice on taking better quality pics then it will have to go back.Is mine a faulty unit or is there a knack of taking a picture without the camera moving which I think is causing part of the problems.
I have tried to synchronize my Aino for several times with Outlook. It worked last time, now the process is being interrupted. I did several attemps to synchronize, but in the middle of the proceess, the PC Suite all of a sudden switches from PC mode to USB mode. It looks as if the Aino had just been connected, but I haven't touched the Aino, the cable, or the computer.

Trying to get my N97 to connect up to my Win 7 laptop.Every time i try and connect through OVI, when attempting to reach connection it either states "N97 not in USB pc suitemode" (here i have told the phone to automatically connect in PC Suite) there is no problem seeing the phone on the machine thats fine, the main problem is OVI.
PC Suite 7.1.4 - i cant even get this to install, i reach install step 5/6, it doesnt even try and i recieve the error " Installation operation failed - the system cannot find the file specified"
I desperatly need this to work to update the handsets firmware. to do this i need to back it up, to do that i need to use OVI or PC Suite!
I have an E52 here with latest firmware, version 034.001. Pressing and holding the # key to switch between general and silent mode does not work. Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.

View 7 Replies View Related(This bug was also present in the betalabs version) It is possible to select 88.10MHz using the rolling wheels, but if you then select another frequency (either using the rolling wheels or one of the three recently used frequency buttons) you can't then reselect 88.10MHz using one of the the three recently used frequency buttons. It's as if a button with '88.10MHz' written in it gets ignored if pressed. I suspect a 'greater than or equal to 88.1' has got coded as 'greater than 88.1' in a line of code, thus causing this bug. It only seems to affect 88.1MHz. 88.2MHz works fine, as do the others.

I set up my hotmail on the phone and it was working fine. I then deleted that account but on the home screen am left with the subject line of the last message, but cannot get rid of it, or open it. When I select it, I simply go to the email options screen with sync, settings etc.How do I get rid of this and start again?Also, is it possible to set the phone up so that hotmail only displays on the 'personal mode' and that my work email only displays on the 'work mode'? If so, how do I go about it?
My work email (IMAP) I got all the settings and details from the IT department, and whatever I (or they) tried to do, simply wouldn't allow me to connect to my account and receive messages. Has anyone else had this? Is there some trick that I haven't been using?

When I go to Offline mode I can't switch back to any other mode without having to remove the battery of my E72. I can't even switch off the phone as it freezes. This issue started when I installed the first phone software update last year. Yesterday I installed the latest software but the problem persists.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust updated two days ago and my Airplane Mode icon will take me to the settings screen where I have to tap on Airplane Mode again which turns it into a two step process and makes the icon pointless. The other thing is that the screen is not dimming like it did in Power Saver mode. I keep my screen about 1/3 because indoors it's all I need and it would drop it about 10% before I updated to 4.3. Now it keeps it at the 1/3 default no matter what. I can't really say whether it's having a dramatic effect on battery life, but it would be nice to get that extra 5% in times of need.

If I connect the phone to my computer in the MSC mode, I have access to it via Windows Explorer etc., so e.g. I can load music onto my phone,but I cannot install Apps. If I try to do so in the MSC mode, Google Play tells me that the download of the app will start soon, but then nothing happens.If I connect the XPeria in the MTP mode, nothing happens except that my computer utters the first tone of the "USB connected"-signal three times. In the MTP mode the Sony PC companion also tells me that itīs not possible to connect the phone.I reinstalled the PC Companion, restarted my computer and my phone but nothing changed.Is there any possibility to install Apps in the MSC mode? If not, how can I make the MTP mode work again?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am unable to connect my E72 in PC suite mode via USB. It was working just fine earlier. The weird thing is that it works fine on Bluetooth. Other modes (Mass Storage) are working fine via USB. So USB port/wire is fine. The only thing that isn't working via USB is the PC Suite mode. I have tried selecting PC Suite mode in Settings> Connectivity> USB and also tried changing the Ask on connection option but it doesn't work. When I plugin my phone via usd, it prompts me to select the mode, if I select PC Suite it doesn't work, If I chose a mode other than PC suite, it works just fine.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed a 3rd party GPS app, and after a few moments toying with it, it did not load the map so I uninstalled it.After restarting, I noticed that my phone has no signal and it reboots every now and then until there's a signal... long story short, it reboots unti it gets a signal from carrier..
After it does get a signal, I tried dialing a number and I get disconnected after 2 seconds and text messages does not send.I have read other forums that it may be a carrier problem (i doubt) but anyway I followed the instruction and it worked as of this writing..
The instruction was to disable Dual Mode and set it to GSM...Phone > Network > set Dual Mode to GSM.
I can now make calls and send and receive SMS.BUT still I want to make the Dual mode working again pre installation of the GPS software.I tried to reinstall 23.002 fw but it looked like it was just a reinstall of some of the FW not reflashing the entire phone.. hence the same apps and settings are still there.Is there a way to restore this to factory firmware? Or I need to wait for another update?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from an unlocked E71 (to use on T-Mobile) to an E73 Mode to get 3G. With MfE on E71, I was able to search company directory within a new email form. I don't have Company Directory in MfE on the E73 Mode and wanted to download it from Ovi, but Ovi keeps saying MfE is not supported on E73. I think Nokia should update their site because the MfE client is embedded. IN any case, does anyone know where the Company Directory component can be downloaded for E73?

In a free pubic hotspot that doesn't require a key, the phone could find the network but couldn't connect (with an error message J007). In my home wifi network with a wep key, the phone couldn't connect either but with a different error message w002. I talked to a couple of t-mobile tech support and spent about 3 hours so far on the phone but couldn't get it resolved. If anyone has found an answer or share similar problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWas anyone able to tether the Nokia E73 Mode? I keep getting messages that it could not connect to the device. I tried with all 3 different pieces of software - Ovi Suite, PC Suite 7.1 and Nokia PC Internet Access. I had no luck connecting with either of them. Anyone experienced the same issue? All three programs work fine, I am able to sync, browse, etc., but no internet connectivity. As if they have blocked/ deactivated the modem somehow because the error message says that it could not connect to the device, not the internet. Any ideas? Anyone found a solution for that problem? I even tried manual configuration of the modem and when I try to connect I get error message # 692 - there was a hardware failure in the modem. I doubt there is a failure in the modem. Most likely just turned off. I tried on both mine and my wife's phone, same result, so it is impossible or very unlikely both to have damaged modems. In the configuration screen when I try to Query Modem I get Modem Failed to respond, please make sure the modem is properly connected and turned on, which confirms my suspicion that they have disabled the modem somehow. Does anyone have an idea for the fix of this issue?
