I am a bit disappointed with the N900's volume loudness controls, the audio player doesn't have an "Equalizer" either.Is there any Maemo software apps for increasing volume loudness? I just purchased my N900 yesterday & is new to Maemo Devices, I hope you don't mind if I repeated the same questions previously posted, best regards.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the Torch 9800. I wish to adjust the equalizer for the sound playing through my bluetooth, Motorola S10-HD. Any adjustment I make has no effect on the sound. It was the same thing when I tried the Plantronics BackBeat 903+, no change in sound when the equalizer is adjusted.Now, if I were to use a wired headset, the equalizer works perfectly!
So why is it the equalizer has no effect on the sound when using bluetooth? I find the call volume very low even in a quiet environment. If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said.One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen the N900 came out in the UK I bought it on the same day! But I'm disappointed with the fact that the N900 is still not compatible with Ovi player. This is even so after the recent firmware update! Overall it seems that the N900 was rushed into the market. Sadly, some of the reviews claiming that the N900 would be known as the "iphone eater" was very wrong! I did manage to copy music to my N900 in mass storage mode but it wasn't a very smooth experience.Come on Nokia get your act together and give the music lovers out there something to cheer about by getting the basic's right! BTW if I have the fact's wrong re compatibility with Nokia Ovi Player please let me know?

And sometimes it simply tells the caller that I am engaged. I don't understand it, but would prefer incoming calls to override the podcast playback.

I has 3.5mm plug, remote control for music player (play/pause, stop, next, previous), a microphone and answer/hang up button and a 3.5mm socket to plug in your favorite earphones.I tried it on my son's 5230, the music can be heard but the buttons don't work. I would like to use a similar device on the N900 I'll get in few days, but perhaps the remote won't work on it either(?)Is there any wired old-school audio adapter/remote for 5230 or N900? Nokia website lists wh-701 as compatible with 5230 and it even ships with N900, but it has fixed in-ear headphones that don't fit me.If there isn't a compatible audio adapter available at the moment please make one.

When I introduced the card into the N900, all songs were automatically listed on the Media player but without the corresponding CD covers which were treated as images and stored on the Photo gallery.Now, how do I solve that ? Is there a means to force those CD covers to take their places on the Media player ?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having some problems with my phone which I think might be related to gstreamer.When I open the camera cover and the camera tries to launch I get the error message "Operation failed". Media player also does not work, I can see the media files but when I try playing them nothing happens.
I used gstreamer to capture images for an application that I created and it has always worked fine until recently, when I started noticing the problems with the camera and media player.Between the time everything was working and now, this is what I have done:
-installed OpenGL ES 2
-installed Qt
-copied a bunch of screenshots from the phone to my Mac (i think I just did it through bluetooth but I might have used the usb cable)
Here is what I have done to try to fix the problem:
-connect the phone via usb to a windows computer, rightclick the n900 icon and error check (as recommended on this forum)
-update the firmware using app manager
-reboot
-type dmesg in the terminal after opening the lens cover - that did not output any errors
Could this be related to anything other than the gstreamer? If it is the gstreamer, should I try reinstalling it?
I just received my N900 like a few hrs ago and I was testing the features but when I tried playing one of the songs on the phone a message popped up saying "unable to play media. Audio is in use by another application". I didn't have any other application opened at all I also tried to use the camera and the same message popped up, still no other application was opened.Another problem I noticed was when I receive a call even after pressing receive call the call still does not pick up...still rings on the other end but when I press end call it hangs up on the caller sending the call to voicemail. But making outgoing calls is no problem.I'm a nokia fan and loved all my past nokia phones last one was the N95 and still is working fine after 4yrs this is the first time I'm having such problems and am disappointed especially since the phone is new.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen you are playing a song on the factory installed Google Play Music app or any other app with an equalizer or when using a separate equalizer and you increase any of the bands in the equalizer, the overall volume of the song drops.
To easily reproduce the problem, start playing a song on the Google Play Music app, go to settings, select equalizer, select advanced. Set the equalizer bands to flat (in the middle settings for all bands). While a song is playing, raise any equalizer band and the overall volume of the song goes down dramatically, like by half. This is especially noticeable as you increase the 16k slider. This is not how equalizers should work. A working equalizer should amplify the band you increased but leave the volume on all other bands the same and thus not lower the overall volume of the song. This is happening with all equalizer apps I've installed (besides the stock Music FX and SoundAlive equalizers) and I've seen the exact thing happen with three other equalizer apps on this phone, so it seems like a specific Samsung Galaxy S5 problem.
so I have a GB 2.3.4 Atrix 4G, and usually, it plays my music and takes pictures fine. But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying "com.camera.android (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.
Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.
I had just bought my N900, but I'm surprised that when I playing any mp3 or when assigning a ringetone, the sound output or volume is so low,Comparing with my old one N95. yes it's extremely low..while trying to decrease the volume and mark it to be like 25%, it will be zero sound output.i have downloaded a new media player with equalizer, nothing new, same low volume and i guess it's not related to media player, as if someone dialing me the ring tone also is very low.

Now Nokia has finally released the much anticipated WP 7.8 update. Got it installed and to my surprise, the audio volume via "Nokia Monster purity headset" is too low. It feels that I am playing the song @ volume "15", although the volume is set to "30"
Nokia, have a second look at your firmware and release a patch to pump up the music volume. Not everyone wants to listen music at "Super Low Volume"..
As an ardant lover of music and, in just a tiny lesser degree, of the N97mini I was wonderering of someone had succesfully been able to have the Music library search function to confine its search to music only. I am willing to use a loose definition of music to include Kylie, 50 Cents as well as K3 but for the love of God I cannot regard the no doubt popular tracks "Skype" or "SkypeIM" as music.Is it possible to restrict the location where Music library is looking for material to the location of locations where I, or whatever Ovi/Nokia application is installed, stores its music?

View 7 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, when I plug in the supplied headphones which are marked as model number "WH-101 HS-105", there is no audio heard coming through them. When I plug them in, they are detected and a message says use phone mic for calls. However, there is no audio heard coming from the music player app. If I unplug the headphones the music player audio comes out loud and clear from the loudspeaker.The only solution is to reset the phone, the headphones then work correctly and I can listen to music through them. This makes me think it is a software / firmware problem rather than a hardware problem.I sent my phone and the headphones back to my operator O2 UK and waited 4 weeks for my phone to return. They eventualy returned my phone with a note saying a new circuit board had been fitted and the phone would have a new IMEI number.The fault returned the first time I plugged in my headphones!I have looked for info on this fault on the web, but have not found anybody else with this issue to date.
