View 1 RepliesI recently discovered the chrome inlay surrounding the camera pops off and under it is a port for an external antenna. I go camping every now and then at a place not too far from home where unless I'm in a field, the service isn't strong enough to hold a call. Though texting is fairly reliable. Would an External Antenna be substantially helpful? Would it boost my Data signal as well? It would be great to use the Dun hack when camping.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a decent external antenna which I can use on my Env Touch for those times when I have a faint signal but not enough to actually hold a call or send a text. I've been looking on eBay and other places but its hard to find one with a direct CRC9 connector. Any recommendations?

The soft keyboard is ok when I'm traveling. But when I'm home or working from a hotel room, a hardware keyboard would be very nice.
know if there any way to connect an external stereo microphone to the Playbook? Perhaps using the USB connector?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5800. I just upgraded today to the last version of the phone and maps. I have installed the ovi suite. All latest versions. From the Ovi I got the maps of Germany. Going to the Maps application I can see the maps, zooming in, out... looking for a location.
I want to work offline so in the options i have chosen only "Integrated GSP" (No a-GPS). But the problem I'm having is that the phone doesn't connect via the GPS antenna, the satellite icon is crossed out, the first bar of the signal yellow blinking and if i want to make a route to any location it says "waiting for GPS". I've been searching in the forum but i couldn't go further this point. It seems as i have the satellite signal deactivated.
I've got a N97 mini and notice that I keep losing the signal. I can be sat there, the phone won't move and yet I'll go from 4 bars to virtually one/none at all. I had a similar problem with another N series and apparently it was to do with the internal antenna.......I'm sure its not the network as was on 3 before changing over to O2 and had same issues ! Also does anyone know if the CR 116 will fit the mini as well ?
View 29 Replies View RelatedI was testing the Ovi Maps and found that the horizontal screen (Landscape) is better to navigate than the vertical (Portrait) position What is intriguing me is that my 5230 only switch from portrait to Landscape when turned to the left, and in this case the GPS antenna would be located in lower place of the unit, not at the top, where it should be.
Question: Wy 5230 do change the screen from portrait to Landscape only when switching to the left and not to the right? How I can make this to works correctly, so that the GPS antenna is looking to the sky and not to the floor in the landscape position?
As far as I know there is "Nokia Wireless Keyboard SU-8W" product designed specially for nokia phones. But is there any chance to use regular bluetooth PC keyboard with nokia phones (e75)? I guess there might be some drivers or apps that allow connection between nokia phone and other regular bluetooth devices (PC keyboards, mouses etc).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my E72 device two months ago. I also have an access point in my home unfortunately I can't connect with it properly. My AP uses static IP address, and it is setup correct also the phone, but when I want to connect to internet by native browser, system shows error(translated to English) "invalid server name", it shows in others applications too but there was different errors names depending on application. I can only get access to my router, access point and devices connected to internal network(behind router like PC's, laptops or others), in public places like schools or government institutions I don't have troubles with connecting to internet. Error is occurred only in my and some of my friends private networks. I am sure that's my phone is setup correct, because in this same configuration laptop is working. Why I can't connect with external network?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my e71-1 for only a couple of months now and noticed that it randomly hangs during menu navigation and especially when either trying to make a call or ending a call (most noticeable when 'number busy' is displayed). It can take at least 5-10 seconds for the phone to respond at which point it suddenly cycles through multiple functions due to me having pressed various buttons to try to get it to respond during the hang.I have tried two different firmware versions (400.21.013 and 410.21.010; I'm currently using the latter) and this phenomenon occurs on both. I have not installed any additional apps/games. And the phone has loads of on board memory still free as well as the 8GB memory card that is encrypted despite being virtually empty.I am at a loss trying to get this problem resolved. It's quite annoying saying 'goodbye' to a person and then you can't end the call immediately. I've done a forum search but have not found any way to fix this. Moreover and totally unrelated (I think), there seems to be something wrong with the external speaker on the phone. When I navigate around the menus, the beeps emitted are often crackly. This can also occur when I receive confirmation beeps. Despite this, the quality of the speaker is actually good when it works. The phone hasn't been exposed to any water or even out in the rain so this surely is a build problem?

I have saved the SMS's that were originally in the inbox to a separate folder in saved items, but there is no option to do anything with these, to transfer etc.. I really really do not want to lose these messages, there must be some way to save them. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!!!

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust bought Nokia Lumia 810 (T-Mobile) and downloaded the maps - the internal memory is ony 8gb. With OS and the Maps it takes up considerable space. Is it possible to move the map to the SD card? If yes any link or steps to do the same?
For using Nokia Drive - is it mandatory to download the maps? Just wondering how Google Navigation / Maps work for Android as I don't recall d/l any maps on Android!
I test drove the Nokia drive on couple of known locations and both times the paths chosen were uncommon - when comparing to the inbuilt GPS in the car as well as with Google Navigation! This was US maps. I hope Nokia Maps / Drive gets better.
I have tried several bluetooth keyboards with my new Lumia 920. All can "seemingly" initial connect but then are dropped in about 5 seconds (or never actually connect). Is there a specific manufacturer who's external bluetooth keyboard is known to work with the 920?
View 3 Replies View RelatedYes, I know there are plenty of threads on this already, I just wanna do a quick straw poll to get a sense of whether this is a design or manufacturing/batch fault.I can replicate the left handed signal drop issue on the iPhone 4, and disabling 3g does help alleviate the issue. I'm in the UK on o2, so far no dropped calls, although I don't ever recall having dropped calls at all.Given how this seems to be a pretty hardware serious fault, I may march into the Apple store and DEMAND a free bumper in the interim.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had the iP4 since the launch day and yes I have seen the bars drop but haven't dropped a darn call yet. I'm on the phone for the better part of each day and I, like Mr. Jobs, see this as a NON ISSUE. It's just like the old story "Dr. my arm hurts when I position it like this" Dr: "Well don't do that" " Honestly, the news, media and Apple haters have taken this story and misconstrued the hell out of it. Whenever any company sells a million of anything, there are going to be some issues with a small % of the devices. That's a given. The problem nowadays, is that the first "I want some media love-whore attention jerk" will begin to whine, tip news outlets and complain on every message bored around. I've TRIED to drop a call by using a Samurai Death Grip and it just wouldn't happen. Yes, the bars fall but it's not hurting reception or the phones performance. Anywho, to those who have been weary about picking up and iP4 because of this nonsense please don't hesitate it's seriously not that bad.
