Been thrashing around with an E-mail prob and found this setting.
Settings/connectivity/admin settings/packet data/access point = none
I don't think its of any significance to my problem seeing as my 5800 mostly works but I would have thought that something should be there. Anything to be concerned about?
I recently upgraded to a Blackberry Curve 8520 from T-Mobile. I am at my wits end. I have a $9.99 unlimited internet plan with T-Mobile. I have gone through several websites trying to find the APN settings to use with the Blackberry Curve. I have found several of them, but none of them seem to be working.
Can anyone out there tell how can I go about this? Honestly, I do not want to pay T-Mobile the $30.00 a month they are asking for access.
My 5800XM keeps connecting to the internet, at least once per day. I don't want it to do this because I'm on PAYG and would like to be in control of when I pay to connect to the internet. There are no apps running and I've started uninstalling lots of things to try to narrow down why this keeps happening. The default connection is Always Ask, I've done everything I could find to make silent unconfirmed internet connection impossible. Is there any way of determining what is using the internet connection?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia 5800xm, I have updated the OVI maps to to version 3.3 and whenever I open it, mobile connects automatically to internet via GSM network which I don't want, before updating it asks me before if I want to connect or not. Now may most of application which need internet, it opens internet automatically. It does cost money because it's expensive to connect from mobile.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently updated to v50 firmware. I did first OTA, and then through Ovi Suite. I am experiencing several issues, the most severe of which is a substantially patchier internet connection. The internet connection worked well previously, but now it's a coin toss whether it will or not. This change coincided with the update. The auto-rotation has also become substantially slower. I have tried reinstalling the firmware, resetting the phone, rebooting, removing battery and SIM card, to no avail.
I am very happy for Nokia to be updating the firmware for a phone that came out a while ago, so this is just constructive criticism. I am overall happy with the phone, and all the improvements are very welcome. The main issue I had been experiencing was random crashing of the browser, and occasional random reboot from the phone.
My Blackberry Curve will no longer let me access the internet or facebook app, it won't let me follow links on my emails and BBM has become very slow, when I try to access the internet or internet based things like facebook or app world it says I need to verify settings.

I installed an application on my N82. But when i start the application the phone asks a dozen times if it can read and/or write data from/to the memory card before it starts the app. Does Ny know where I can find the "access data" settings on an N82 so I can change it to "allow all"?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E63 on 3, it reports its symbian software version as 200.21.012. My wireless router is a Netgear DG834PN. It has a WPA2-PSK key code set up, and my laptop works fine with the wireless. It is set up to use DHCP, has MAC address filtering turned OFF. The network is public (not set to hidden). If i try to connect my nokia E63 to the wireless then when i try to access the internet, it gives an error stating ' no gateway reply'. Power Saving is disabled. I have tried setting the IP address manually and still it gives the error. I have also tried re-setting the router, to no avail. The only way i got it to work was by disabling all security on the router (making it an open network) which, whilst this is fine for testing, i do not want to run it as an open network, it must run with WPA2-PSK security.

How can i find out the "internet tel. settings" icon?
I am changing networks and installed my new Vectone SIM. I needed to send a TXT to setup the internet. It changed some settings on my phone and gave me the options to make these settings the defaults which I foolishly said YES to.Previously I could connect to the internet via WIFI or 3G (it gave me the option before hand) however now it likes to force me to use the new 3G service (even with my old SIM fitted).I managed to get my old settings back, but they keep changing back when I turn the phone off or leaving the house.I also don't seam to be able to have WIFI and new 3G option menu.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have defined my WLAN as the primary internet access point. Incidentally, the E72 terms the WLAN connection point "infrastructure". My wife's E63 uses the slightly more reassuring "known". Despite the WLAN being the number 1 priority access point, when using the www application the 3G connection is launched if the applications settings are set to "automatic". If I use "always ask", oddly the WLAN internet access point does not show up in the list. The 3G connection does twice. Once as an internet access point, and with a slightly different name for a WAP connection (not sure what the point of the WAP connection is, but too scared to delete it). I can "Search for WLAN" which without fail always finds my home network, which is selectable, and can be used without problem.
There appears to be a glitch in that the defined WLAN access point is not and cannot be recognised as an automatic connection point, but is easily used when manually selected. Perhaps a WLAN setting is wrong making the automatic connection fall over? Happy to entertain any advice. The phone is completely up to date with firmware.
I got a replacement n900 and sent my setting to the device(three network) but it wont access the web,it does connect cos i see the two little arrows appear for connection,strangely my previous n900 worked fine,allso it works fine with wlan,any ideas?
