This is my first time here and I have a problem in my 5800 express music and that problem is: Every time I want to use internet via WLAN or 3G I got this message (no gateway reply).
View 4 RepliesUpgraded from an N96 to an X-6 and I have a problem - can't access the internet or nokia music store or ANYTHING. It did with the N96, the only thing that's changed is the phone. In the wlan conn manager it shows as connected but when i start the browser it comes up "no gateway reply". I think I may have to start from fresh and re-enter the security settings but I can't find them.

I've added the MAC address of the E63 to my list of attached devices. I've deleted and added the access point so many times and now I'm getting fed up with it. I've tried the turning off the power in the advanced settings but still no luck.

Another neighbour is also in the same scenario, i've tried both the connections but everything i do it also says "no gateway reply", i can't even get on to a single website.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Xpressmusic 5530, and I can't surf the web on my college wifi network. I was able to for several months until 2 days ago when the error appeared. Now the college wifi network is a public network and requires a webpage login. Before the error appeared, i would connect to the Wifi and then log in through the webpage perfectly with the wifi.
I already tried resetting to hardware settings, reinstalling the firmware, disenabling/enabling the power saving, and setting up the ip4v address like my wifi on laptop. Nothing worked. This is my first Nokia phone and i'm really disappointed that i can't use my wifi anymore. I didn't change any settings and it just stopped working. I even went to the tech people in my college and the network specialist didn't know what was wrong.
Recently i improved my WLAN range using Thomsoon SL780 via WDS, but when i try to connect to network from him it says: Web: no gateway reply, while I can connect to my primary router I can't via WDS device.It has a little upload and download (cca 6kb Up; 4kb Dl) My laptop win7, my sisters HTC desire can connect with no problem at all, but my nokia won't, is there any way i can fix this?
View 6 Replies View Relatedrecently i can't browse the web or use any free messaging apps such as nimbuzz on my nokia 5800 (fw version 21.0) finland made, but clearly indicates that it's connected to wlan...the ones i used before (in my home & @ my work).i noticed it started when i was waiting for a video in Internet to finish buffering, then halfway to it it suddenly went back to my main screen. when i tried again, same thing happens. then i try to log-in to facebook or any website... first it will give the impression that its connecting but then, juz a couple of seconds or less, it willl suddenly revert back to my phone home screen.this started a couple of weeks back, and now the bluetooth too is f***ed-up!because my laptop can't see it, while yesterday it can.it seems that mines the first one with this kind of problem bcoz i can't find any forum discussing this issue.
I have noticed that the nokia messaging solution dose not have the option of a custom "reply-to" address.how it works--- i have email address A and B. On address A the reply-to option is B. then i send an email to address C from A. when address C clicks reply, the reply address becomes B not A.this is a feature included in the built in email client, it's available in Gmail and also Blackberry.I would like to see nokia implement this.I'm using a 5800 with messaging installed but not using due to the lack of this feature.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried lots of things and still no joy. Basically, my 5800 (with v50.0 firmware) keeps losing my wlan - even when sat physically next to it. It doesn't lose connection (since it's not connected), it loses (apparently loses) the wlan signal but immediately finds it again - all whilst I am sat watching it within the connectivity->wlan page.I have sat there, with my laptop running a signal analyser, poling every 500ms and the router's signal doesn't drop at all, yet my phone is sat next to it and every so often it'll show my wlan go from "known" to "unknown" and the signal goes from 100% to none. 8/10 my phone will connect to my wlan for internet use or downloading emails, 2/10 it'll resort to contract WAP since it believes my wlan is unavailable. My wlan broadcasts on a channel that is not overlapped by my neighbours, and my laptop shows a constant 100% signal strength, regardless of other wlans that may or may not be broadcasting (those wlans that do occasionally appear are very weak, and the 5800's dropping doesn't appear to coincide with their temporary appearance).
The wlan is running in 802.11g mode, and is WPA protected. I have tried having no security on it, same problem. I have tried adding the MAC address to the router, same problem. My wife has the same phone, same firmware, and hers does the same thing - except at different times (it's not like the both drop sight of the wlan at the same time).It appears, though I can't be sure, that if I go in through the connectivity->wlan page and choose my wlan and "connect" to it, then it stays connected and never drops. Unfortunately, this isn't an acceptable work-around since I have configured my phone to periodically check for emails and I don't want to have to remember every time I come home to manually connect, etc.Can anyone please suggest a course of action or investigation for me to undertake, since this is really, REALLY starting to confuse me!
I just bought a Nokia 5800 XM. However, there seems to be a problem with WLAN connectivity. The phone can successfully search for available networks, and when I choose "Connect" the WLAN icon appears at the top right corner (as if it successfully connected). But, when I try to use the web browser, it pops up connectivity options (as if it is not connected to any WLAN network even though the antenna icon is there). I can choose the same WLAN from the options, but then it says "connection already active" and fails. When I open connection manager it doesn't list any active connections. A strange situation! I've upgraded its software to the latest version but that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas why this may be happening and how to solve it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and tried to connect to the internet via my Linksys ADSL wireless router. As i have added MAC Filtering to keep wireless network safe, i tried to add my 5800's MAC in the filter list. but when i tried to save the settings an error message popped up saying "The MAC address cannot be the Multipart Address.".Any thoughts on what that means? or what should i do?The connection works fine if i dont apply the MAC filtering. It is might be some problem at router end.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to firmware v50.0.005 my 5800xm started to run out of battery after 10-12 hours. After some tests, uninstalling programs, deleting all WLAN Connections etc I found out that this is caused by unwanted WLAN connections to known WLANs. How can i solve this?This happens only at home or in my office (where I use wlan) , there are no applications running and nothing is allowed to sync automatically. But after some minutes when I unlock my 5800, I can see the wlan antenna - but when I want to check the connection, it disappears.I never had battery or WLAn issues, but since upgrading to v50 when i forget to connect it to the charger overnight the battery has drained and is empty.For finding open WLAn and for easy connections I use WeFi since I own my 5800. This never caused me any problem. But I have read through the Support Discussion and some other boards on the web: There are many others that suffer from battery drain after upgrading to Firmware v50.So please check whether this may also be related to unwanted WLAN traffic on your 5800:I stayed a few days in a hotel where there was no WLAN. I tried to upgrade again to Firmware v50 again via PC and cable, not OTA again. The battery lasted for three days as before (but remeber there was no WLAn available!)As soon as I was back home, the 5800 begain to connect again in standby estimated every 10 minutes to my home WLAN. I can see this in the router´s connected devices. When I unlock the 5800 I see that WLAN is active and connected, a second later, or if I click on the icon, the connection disappears Simply bad, because when I forget my phone charger in the evening to hang on in the morning it is empty.Perhaps these guys have the same problem: /t5/Connectivity/5800-Wifi-Bug/m-p/410781 but I never ever had photo exchange, skype, fringe or else installed. I have changed nothing before or after the upgrade to v50, I have not installed new software or else.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have 2 annoying problems with my Nokia X6 16GB: Problem 1: I cannot browse the internet using a wireless LAN Connection (WLAN). i manage to connect to my wireless network at home but every time i want to go to a website i get the following error 'invalid server name'. i used the connection wizard to connect. i added my home network as 'access point' , nothing seems to work. i thought maybe it is a firmware problem. now the latest firmware release is 21.0.004 i still have 20.0.005. so i tried to update my firmware using the 'nokia software updater'. which brings me to my next problem: Problem 2: Nokia software updater says i have already the latest firmware while i read on the site of nokia the latest firmware for my phone is 21.0.004. how's that possible? since i can't get the new firmware using the 'nokia software update', does anyone know how i can? i do not want to use the software updater on my phone since i have a prepaid SIM card, and connecting to the internet would cost me a lot of money. I've read somewhere that the software was not available 'in each region'. i live in Belgium (small country in West Europe), can i check anywhere if the software is available 'in my region'?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have defined my WLAN as the primary internet access point. Incidentally, the E72 terms the WLAN connection point "infrastructure". My wife's E63 uses the slightly more reassuring "known". Despite the WLAN being the number 1 priority access point, when using the www application the 3G connection is launched if the applications settings are set to "automatic". If I use "always ask", oddly the WLAN internet access point does not show up in the list. The 3G connection does twice. Once as an internet access point, and with a slightly different name for a WAP connection (not sure what the point of the WAP connection is, but too scared to delete it). I can "Search for WLAN" which without fail always finds my home network, which is selectable, and can be used without problem.
There appears to be a glitch in that the defined WLAN access point is not and cannot be recognised as an automatic connection point, but is easily used when manually selected. Perhaps a WLAN setting is wrong making the automatic connection fall over? Happy to entertain any advice. The phone is completely up to date with firmware.
while setting up a new email mail box (gmail)my E72 keep asking me to select WLAN network instead of using my regular at&t internet acces.Wlan is set to <never> in the connection setup. I'm now at the confused.com point I want to use my phone on the WLAN at home and I've added the service to the phone using the wizard etc however every time it connects its seems to use the futures bright internet and thus I incur download charges, ok they are only a few pence at a time but I don't know why it does this. I've set the phone to ask on connection and I pick the WLAN every time.Can anyone help me please - fyi this phone has been unlocked and unbranded and is currently using PAYG, don't know if that makes any difference or not but thought I would share
