while setting up a new email mail box (gmail)my E72 keep asking me to select WLAN network instead of using my regular at&t internet acces.Wlan is set to <never> in the connection setup. Is any one know what is happening?it used to connect with my AT&T internet acces while setting up emails mail box.it works fine when i go online...but not while i am setting up mail box.
View 6 RepliesI have defined my WLAN as the primary internet access point. Incidentally, the E72 terms the WLAN connection point "infrastructure". My wife's E63 uses the slightly more reassuring "known". Despite the WLAN being the number 1 priority access point, when using the www application the 3G connection is launched if the applications settings are set to "automatic". If I use "always ask", oddly the WLAN internet access point does not show up in the list. The 3G connection does twice. Once as an internet access point, and with a slightly different name for a WAP connection (not sure what the point of the WAP connection is, but too scared to delete it). I can "Search for WLAN" which without fail always finds my home network, which is selectable, and can be used without problem.
There appears to be a glitch in that the defined WLAN access point is not and cannot be recognised as an automatic connection point, but is easily used when manually selected. Perhaps a WLAN setting is wrong making the automatic connection fall over? Happy to entertain any advice. The phone is completely up to date with firmware.

It again get reconnected automatically. Even if I remove all the known connection, it keeps popping up the select WLAN network page. It would find my router at home and conect to it, it would find wireless hotspots everywhere and connect to them etc... Now, all of the sudden, it will not find anything anymore. Even if I am standing in front of my router, it will say "No WLAN network found".
I just updated her phone to the newest firmware and reset everything to factory defaults, and the phone still refuses to find any WLAN's. I went into the menu and made sure that it does show WLAN availability etc...
I recently switched networks in an attempt to save money. It's a new network so they don't have an agreeement with Blackberry yet to carry RIM but I should be able to access the internet with it. In browser options > general properties > default browser > set to internet browser."When I try to do this, however, I can't change from hotspot browser to internet browser.When I go to manage connections and check Services Status I'm told that my Blackberry Internet Service is not connected.I'm stuck at this point and don't know where to go next. I know that I can always switch back to my old network but I would like to see if I can solve this problem first before switching back.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have 2 annoying problems with my Nokia X6 16GB: Problem 1: I cannot browse the internet using a wireless LAN Connection (WLAN). i manage to connect to my wireless network at home but every time i want to go to a website i get the following error 'invalid server name'. i used the connection wizard to connect. i added my home network as 'access point' , nothing seems to work. i thought maybe it is a firmware problem. now the latest firmware release is 21.0.004 i still have 20.0.005. so i tried to update my firmware using the 'nokia software updater'. which brings me to my next problem: Problem 2: Nokia software updater says i have already the latest firmware while i read on the site of nokia the latest firmware for my phone is 21.0.004. how's that possible? since i can't get the new firmware using the 'nokia software update', does anyone know how i can? i do not want to use the software updater on my phone since i have a prepaid SIM card, and connecting to the internet would cost me a lot of money. I've read somewhere that the software was not available 'in each region'. i live in Belgium (small country in West Europe), can i check anywhere if the software is available 'in my region'?

In this destination I set up wlan as priority 1 and mobile data as priority 2.Phone keeps moving wlan from Internet to Uncategorised destination. If I move it back to Internet it stays for some time and goes back to Uncategorised. Sometimes it happens while browsing. I want to go back one page and phone will show that it can't find the address. Have to go to settings and move it back to Internet destination. Ad nauseam. Did not have this problem on N8. I'm now at the confused.com point I want to use my phone on the WLAN at home and I've added the service to the phone using the wizard etc however every time it connects its seems to use the futures bright internet and thus I incur download charges, ok they are only a few pence at a time but I don't know why it does this. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an E63 with version 400.21.013 firmware. However, I have experienced this problem from day one. I do not have a data plan but I use WLAN at various locations, and there is a list of access points in the Settings.I have a home access point configured with WPA2 and I have all the settings saved in the Connection Manager (or is it WLAN Wizard - I don't know). When the phone is not connected to any AP and I use a program that wants data, it will almost always show the "Home" AP in the list which appears right after "Searching for available access points" is briefly displayed. "Home" shows up right below Search for WLAN. There is no problem making the first connection.However, if the "Home" AP is already in use and I open another program that wants data, at times it will not show my Home AP in the list. If "Searching for available access points" is only displayed for a split second, "Home" will not be in the list. Sometimes I can close the program and open it again and if "Searching for available access points" stays on screen for about a second, then "Home" will be on the list and I can connect. Sometimes I will have to try 3, 4, 5 times, and sometimes it will never "see" the AP unless I disconnect the WLAN and start all over.Right at this moment, there is no problem. I can open program after program and connect via my "Home" AP. But it is frustrating when it does happen. Has anyone seen this or found a remedy?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E63 on 3, it reports its symbian software version as 200.21.012. My wireless router is a Netgear DG834PN. It has a WPA2-PSK key code set up, and my laptop works fine with the wireless. It is set up to use DHCP, has MAC address filtering turned OFF. The network is public (not set to hidden). If i try to connect my nokia E63 to the wireless then when i try to access the internet, it gives an error stating ' no gateway reply'. Power Saving is disabled. I have tried setting the IP address manually and still it gives the error. I have also tried re-setting the router, to no avail. The only way i got it to work was by disabling all security on the router (making it an open network) which, whilst this is fine for testing, i do not want to run it as an open network, it must run with WPA2-PSK security.
