As title, my son's 5530 has stopped recieving or sending texts. Outgoing texts sit in the outbox.I've rest the phone, upgraded to latest software, checked the message centre number, the sim card sends and recieves ok in another phone

In help it says "to send multimedia messages, you need to register with a message service and obtain appropriate connection settings".How do i fo this and will it work for recieving mms aswell?
Recently my iphone stopped sending my photos in texts. It shows it tries to send it but never actually goes through. I've checked the message and photo settings. I've done a hard reset.

I have a blackberry bold 9700 and its been fine for a month or so, all of a sudden after it has been working fine in the morning it stopped calling and sending texts, i cant receive anything either.
BBM works fine, internet works fine and email its just the calls and texts in and out????
I have restored the phone and done all necessary updates but it still doesn't work, the SIM card is fine as ive put it in another phone and it does everything it should.
After going to the lake district, something happened to my phone and it stopped sending texts. They would just pile up in the outbox, queing to be sent but would never leave. My phone works fine for everything else apart from this. I have updated to the latest Sony Erricson software and made sure the service number (where the phone relays texts or something) was correct.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi got the new phone about a week ago and the experience has not been good.after a rough start, i got it to work for a few days. it behaved what i expected it to be until about a day ago when all of a sudden it stopped receiving and sending messages.i power off, took off battery, etc and tried to reboot it - it didn't work. all settings seemed to be ok, what am i missing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a nokia 5530 xpressmusic phone, and im not receiving any texts. I only receive texts if im sending one or i restart my phone. Any ideas how to fix this? I've restarted it and done all that stuff to wipe it and stuff.. but its still not working, but my old sony phone works perfect for receiving texts so it cant be the network =/, any ideas?Sorry, ive rather wrote this out really quickly because im annoyed because this is the second time this phone has screwed up on me. And i really cant be bothered with the hole getting a new one and stuff!
View 9 Replies View RelatedSpoken to T-mobile and they sent me the settings as they should be. I have saved them and tried again. But picture of video parts of messages aren't going through, only the text parts arrive. I can go to the phone settings and see the data being sent, and it is always the correct amount. But the multimedia bits don't get there. Yet I can send them to myself. The people I send to, can send and receive multimedia just fine to other people. Could someone on T-mobile post all their settings please?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo, my camera stopped launching. I fixed this yesterday by backing up my contacts and bookmarks and doing a reset (*#7370#).But then I noticed a few MORE issues with the phone that didn't exist before.
1. File manager. I can't copy files from one folder in my memory card to another. when i attempt this, the file manager spontaneously shuts down and redirects me to the main menu.Also, I can't seem to install any files on my phone. I'll start the installation, i'll accept the terms of agreement, i'll press continue... and then NOTHING. It just sits at the screen showing the .sis file i was trying to install. but nothing happens. i can't even delete the file b/c it says it's in use.
2. Image editor. i can edit images, but when i try and save them, the editor just closes and takes me to the image gallery. No saved image.
3. software update. the software update shows me a list of available updates like adobe flash lite, ovi contacts, shazam etc. I'll select a file to update, say for example, adobe flashlite.It'll say downloadin adobe flashlite (1 of 1) but the progress bar just WONT progress! it stays empty!
4. Settings>application manager>installation files.this will show an installation file for one theme that ...i'm not even sure i have on my phone anymore! at least, i can't find it on my memory card ( which is where it's supposed to be)which is strange, since i have a bunch of other installation files on my memory card which aren't showing up at all.it's perplexing. they should have a seperate forum dedicated to issues with the 5530, given the amount of trouble one has with it.
oh, i forgot the mention, my firmware is very much up to date. it was up to date before i performed the reset.but i updated it again last night, just in case that'd fix the issues above.it didnt.
I accidently dropped my 5530XM, which was in an ipod sock, from about 1 metre high onto my wooden floorboards. I found that the volume button suddenly stopped working. When i turned it off an on again it worked!So, im wondering if this is a phone problem or software problem? because ive only had it for 2/3 weeks and i dont wana be stuck with a faulty phone!
View 5 Replies View RelatedNot long before receiving a notice about an update for my Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, the music player stopped functioning properly. If I try to play a song from "All songs", I get the message "File is corrupted, Operation cancelled."
If I try the same through Albums, Playlists, Genres or Composers, I get the same message.
If I try to access anything through Artists, I get the message "General: System Error"
Podcasts works just fine.
I can play music tracks if I browse my files on my memory card, and play from there.
I have tried using Nokia Software Updater and reinstalling the newest update, and reseting my phone to factory default.
What should I do?
I see on the 10th of this month there was a firmware update version V30.09.009? But I dont get a choice to install it, device says firmware is up to date.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N8 (0598980 )which I recently updated to Symbian Belle - 11.030.0609.00.01 2011-11-26.Checking my recent bill from Vodafone (contract) I noticed that there were a lot of texts to a number I did not recognise that I was being charged for £0.20 + VAT a time.The number is 358504877172 and happened twice a day - around 12:00 noon and again about 23:30 - these tets happened all through March & into April.Anyone else seen this ?odafone insisted that someone was using my phone to send these messages - after lots of "discussions" they refunded them

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy N86 has stopped sending sms, first of all it only happened a few times but now its happening all the time and as a result havnt been able to use my phone for the last couple of weeks just had the chance to come online to seek help, called O2 who said to try my SIM in another phone which I did and it worked alright so they said it must be a problem with the phone, have tried taking the battery out for over 24 hours tried having it switched off for days but its still not working. Basically what happens is: I send a message. The up arrow stays on the front screen and wont go away. The message gets stuck in the outbox saying it will resend every two mins (which it did to my sister a couple of weeks ago 30 times but came through to her as only half a message) so had to stop using it as sms weren't getting through at all but was still being charged for them being sent which I just didnt get, am confused and dont know what to do.

Whenever I text someone who does not have an iPhone the message will send in two separate messages.. even if the length of the message is under the 160 character limit. The message will send everything except the last word, then send the last word in another separate message. For example, if i sent something like, "hello how was your day today? mine was great thank you for asking".. it would send, "hello how was your day today? mine was great thank you for" in one message then send another message with just the word "asking". I've gone to the Apple Store & they were NO help & said it was a network problem. I then went to the Sprint store & they said it was not a network problem either. I reset the phone numerous times, then eventually Sprint ordered me a new one which is STILL having the same problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWell, this is my 3rd torch in about 10 months and i turned it on this morining to find that no one was replying to my texts... so i waited a few hours because i presumed that maybe some people were busy, etc... but it wasnt untill my freind sent me an fb message saying she replied to my texts sent earlier today, that i realised that something was wrong... i sent her another text saying to post on my wall what it was what i had sent her, to see if it was mine or her phone, turns out its my phone.... so to double check i sent a message from my other phone to the torch to see if it was just her bold misbehaving, but turns out that my phone didnt get that text either... checked my firewall to see if i had accidentaly set it to texts, i feel like throwing the phone on the floor because its so **bleep**.... after this im never buying a blackberry..

Sometimes it will send multiple duplicate copies of an SMS text. I mean 4 or 5 copies of the same message, usually straight after 1 another. However, yesterday, I restarted my phone, as GPS would not turn off, and then shortly after I got a text from a friend asking why I has sent her a message about the weather.
How to get the HTC one to stop sending old texts messages after a reboot? If my phone dies, is updated, or I need to turn it off, when I turn it back on it will send some really old texts and a lot of them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedText using laptop? I've been using an native mac app called "Verizon Messages+" to text my contacts through my computer however I'm looking for a bit of an upgrade. I ran by an app called "AirDroid" which looks pretty neat but kind of feature bloated at the same time.
I'd prefer to use a native app as opposed to going to a website and/or using a chrome plugin. This was probably one of my favorite features about iMessage, I was able to seamlessly message contacts through a clean and intuitive interface on my computer.
