I see on the 10th of this month there was a firmware update version V30.09.009? But I dont get a choice to install it, device says firmware is up to date.
Got the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...
Ever since I upgraded the phone's firmware to the latest (v 20.0.080) the mobile dictionary has a weird glitch. I've attached a picture to show.
If i try to find a word from english to vietnamese, the vietnamese equivalent word will have missing letters. For example: i search "hello" and the vietnamese shows: "xin chao: bi ___ u _ l ___ s ng ___ c nhien" (the underscores "_" are the missing letters.Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the application, and the language pack.
I've tried a english to english search, and words don't show up missing letters. this seems to just happen to vietnamese letters.I do a simple search of a vietnamese to vietnamese. even the results show words with missing letters.
Sir/Madam, I have a Nokia Asha 311 handset. I want to know that can I change Operating system of Nokia Asha 311 . I want to switch over from Nokia OS to Symbian/symbian belle?
I downloaded the Symbian Anna and honestly, it's not as great as it's been made out to be!Now I want to revert to the earlier S3 version and am unable to do so! What can be done to regain the old version of the OS?
I tried a Restore to factory settings from the phone, but it just goes back to factory settings with ANNA, how do I change the OS back to the earlier one?
I have two questions for people in Nokia before baying this new communicator
1. Are they intend to put in final production of the E7 device the Symbian^4 O.S?
2. If not, will it be possible to upgrade this device from Symbian^3 to Symbian^4 O.S?
That is, I think, the crucial problem in final production because the Symbian^3 is breaking in the everything except in visual part of UI which is a little bit démodé.As I can see on the Symbian page they are rushing to change this with a lot of changes in this part of O.S.it will be very disappointing to me baying such a device and after half a year faced with a new O.S. (specially UI which is most important for users-the name told us this-UI)
Can anyone suggest a good RSS reader for the E72? I have tried several so far (including Handy RSS and Resco News) but none is fully ok. Either they lack some features (like OPML import or timed updates) or have poor usability. Resco News would be acceptable but it appears to crash a lot on my E72. When updating it just exits, as if the process is killed. The app hasn't been updated in over a year or so.
Even though Symbian command largest market share in smart phone market, its pie is shrinking everyday.
The Android and iPhone market are growing strong. The Blackberry and WinMobile share is dwindling too.Unlike Apple or Google, Nokia is never committed to one handset or one operating system. With Maemo on the market, I think Symbian is now no longer a priority for Nokia.
Is there possibilities that the Nokia N8 be upgraded to Symbian 4 or will happen same as it has happen to Nokia N900In that case is it good to Purchase Nokia.
At the moment I'm on 22.014! I've been checking for updates OTA for a few weeks just for kicks. I checked through Nokia Suite today and there is this 25.007 update. Only problem is it's not the 1MB update I keep reading about! This is a 1.3GB update!Did I miss a couple updates that somehow added up (big time)? Is this normal? Is it safe to update?
"Am afraid i dont know about the N97 native client but you could try the new Symbian Beta (not officially supported for the N97 but some users are reporting they have installed it and it works) at least until the Native client gets released anyway."
Has anyone attempted this with an N97? What issues/success have you encountered? Hoping for some feedback to help me decide if I want to attempt this.
i recently installed viber on my nokia x7 running symbian belle os. But when i started it i came to know that it doesn't have a calling option unlike android and ios phones. This is utter disappointment for me and i think for many nokia users. I would like to know will there be any updation regarding viber app in the coming or i should uninstall it because it is of no use if it does not have a calling option.
I would like to request Foursquare integration into the Ovi Maps application. There is currently no working nativeFoursquare app for Symbian. Nokia would do very well to integrate it cleverly into Maps.
I bought Nokia 5230 and tried to install Garmin Mobile XT but unsuccessfuly.I tried different versions of the program but when installed it doesn't start. What could i do, which version to install? Please help! Is there any chance of resolving this problem.
Several mobile operating systems have become a problem when concerned with users' privacy. iPhone apps send information back to media analysis companies, including users' location and personal details; Web OS sends user information and location back to Palm; and Android, well - it's so tied up with Google that you just can't ignore the possible privacy implications.Which leaves us, for a smartphone, with Blackberry and Symbian (considering Maemo isn't available in my area and Bada isn't out yet).Is there any sort of user tracking, data collection or privacy violation in the Symbian platform that you are aware of, by Nokia or by 3rd party software developers?
will nokia release any new update for c5 to improve browser and time changing bug. Are we going to get anything above 71.005 . It is said that nokia is changing its phones from symbian to 'nokia belle' tag line. Can c5 expect the same or has the company removed c5 from any further improvement list.
