Motorola Xoom :: Market App Updates Won't Clear After Updating?
Oct 21, 2011
After installing app updates yesterday and today, I noticed app did not clear update section at the top of installed apps. It happened while updating Dungeon Defenders yesterday. It finally cleared to installed after reinstalling Dungeon Defenders three times. Could not uninstall Dungeon Defenders while trying to clear the app from the update list. Just kept reinstalling. Finally stopped showing on update list. App started normally and ran afterwards. Same thing with Angry Birds this morning. Still not off Update app list.

Pleas log into your Google account."with an "ok" button.I've tried everything I can think of:restarted the XOOMTried using both wi-fi and 3G connectionsused the browser to verify my Google account appears on the search headerOpened the Gmail app and done a refreshForce-stopped the Market appcleared it's dataensured I can still access the markt using my Droid 1.tried accessing both from my home screen shortcut and from the Apps pageThe version showing in the Manage Applications page is 1.0.27Oh, while I can't go into the market from it's application icon. I did notice that several applications updated in the background, and from the "Updates Available" notification, I was able to go to the "My Apps" part of the Market app.

My non-US Xoom suddenly won't let me install anything from Android Market.
I selected an app and click install, I saw a notification popped up at the lower right corner showing "Installing" but after a short while,
it showed "Appname installation unsuccessful"
I tried restart my Xoom and clear the market cache but still no luck. Anyone has encountered this problem before and How do you solve it?

Just want to know if anyone else is having this problem or is just on my Xoom. I can access Market but when I try to access My Apps I regularly get a FC. What it says is (process.com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly.
I have tried the Vol-Up-On start and cleared the Market cache with the same result. Would uninstalling an reinstalling Market be the next step.

I have a brand new Xoom with Android 3.2, but the version of Android Market is only 1.0.28. It does not 'automatically update. I would like to update it so I can add a pin to stop my kids from purchasing things! Which is apparently available in the latest version (3 or so).

There are times I would like to listen to FM radio - not an internet stream. My android phone has an app called FM Radio but I cannot find a similar app in the Market. Does the Xoom have an FM radio tuner built in? Is there an app to use it?

I have just updated my xoom to Android 3.2 and installed Flash 11.When I go to Android Market it still does not show me BBC IPlayer - I am guessing that my Market App is not aware of my new found Flash.BTW- I can browse to BBC IPlayer and it works fine.Am I correct in thinking that the Market App has to to be aware of the functionality of the tablet and filters accordingly? Is it possible to uninstall & re-install the Market App - The only options appear to be "Force Stop" & "Clear Data" ; these seem a bit brutal!

I have tried clearing the cache, clearing data, and force stopping the application and still no luck. I went as far as doing a factory reset and I still am unable to view installed applications.

I have multiple gmail accounts set up on my Xoom. Everything is good except the Market. Sometimes my Market app will switch accounts and act like I only have 5 installed apps (probably just the preinstalled apps). It's easy enough to switch back to the right account.

There doesn't seem to be any way I can see to clear the downloads list in the browser? It appears the only way to do it is to delete or move the file then go to the downloads list and try to open it. When the Browser can't find it, it will ask to delete the link.

Ever since getting my XOOM back from Motorola after the 4G upgrade (Android 3.2.2, non-Root) I get a force close on the Market when trying to install Documents To Go 3.0 Main application. I can download and install the Pro Key which I bought from the Market with no issues. I have tried the Factory Reset and I still get same issue.

I'm having trouble with my 4G Xoom; I've visited Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts, and have logged onto their free wifi, but each store uses the same SSID, and if I pull into the parking lot, my Xoom switches from 4G to wifi to connect. Now I believe the saved profiles are corrupted on my Xoom, as when I leave these establishments, my Xoom will not automatically go back to 4G, and requires a reboot to switch over. I would like to just clear my wifi settings and saved hotspots, but can't find a way to do this. I just wiped and restored my tablet, but it restored all of my hotspot settings and reloaded them. Also, the "forget" command is only available when you are within range of a hotspot

With recent changes in the market for Android tablets, it appears there is speculation that Intel may be positioning tablets based on the Atom processor. While Honeycomb has not been fully adapted to the Atom, Intel demoed an Atom driven Android tablet in Bejing this week. Here is some of the article's key content:"So, with tablets based on chips from companies like Nvidia (Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab) and Texas Instruments (PlayBook) not likely flying off the shelf, are Intel's chances any better now? "The door to this market is open. The longer it takes for these other products to get rolling, the more opportunity there is for Intel," said Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch.
And others see an opening for the world's largest chipmaker. "Though Apple has set the bar, it's not going to be alone in this space. Right now it looks like Android will have the majority of tablet sales(outside of Apple), and Intel has a dedicated team of people to make Android work the best it can on its Atom chips. They have a lot of resources they can apply," said Jack Gold of consulting firm J.Gold Associates, who wrote about this yesterday. And Intel, despite its unimpressive start, has another advantage. Atom is not just another cookie-cutter design from U.K.-based ARM. Intel can bring to bear all of its manufacturing, security, and media processing know-how, according to Gold, who believes it will continue to whittle away successfully at the inherent power-efficiency advantage of ARM chips. "My take is that Intel can capture 20 to 25 percent of that remaining market outside of Apple."
Shim has a few words of caution, however. "It all depends, of course, how well Honeycomb (Android 3.0) runs on Atom," said Shim. "That's a big if." And Shim also warns Intel not to put too many eggs in the MeeGo basket, which is a hard sell to developers in a field crowded with Hewlett-Packard's WebOS and RIM's QNX, in addition to Android." url...What do you think about the possibility of Intel Atom competing with the Tegra 2 processor for Android tablet marketshare? If Google has to support mutliple tablet processors with Honeycomb and eventually Ice cream, will that create more bottlenecks or opportunities and options?

I click download update and it takes me to the app store, where it lists that there is an update. However when I click install update in the store it throws an error that says update not found.

I have a replacement 4G LTE Xoom that I just received a few weeks ago on warrantee from Motorola. It works fine, except it doesn't seem to be getting the system updates that I have heard are already released. Here's what I have right now:Android 3.2.2Baseband Vers CDMA_N_03.1A.52P ltedc_u_05.15.00Kernel vers 2.6.36.3-g6963abe android-build@apa28 #1build #HLK42BI've gone in multiple times to check system updates and it keeps telling me it's up to date. However, I was supposed to be part of the latest push and got the survey, but never got the update. From what I can see, I'm a version or two behind, but I can't seem to get the newer versions.

I understand that your hands are loosely tied as Honeycomb is a Google OS and as such updates need to come from them. However, your competitors appear to have been able to launch with things like SD card suppor and there is still no communication about when this will occur.I am not demmanding an update NOW! Just some level of communication on the progress/eta/time-line on when there will be an update to enable all the hardware to function.I also have a number of things I would like to discuss regarding the OS itself but lets first of all see if you can at least communicate with us on the most basic level?
