View 1 Replies View RelatedI was searching for topics related to this topic, describing the diference beetwen manufacture unlock vs bootloader unlock. I bought an unlocked Atrix in AT&T, so I could use it at any company or overseas. Is this mean the bootloader is also unlocked? Or these are diferent things?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf Moto does not unlock the bootloader shortly for my Atrix I will be selling the phone and moving to a Samsung Galaxy S II as soon as it's available. Moto, provide a date as to when you will provide an unlocked bootloader. I know this is a hot topic, but if you can not keep up with Development then allow me as the owner of the phone to do as I wish. Take samsungs lead and send your phones to CyanogenMod
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use face unlock, or pattern unlock, when the phone gors to slee, and I press the power button I just get a black screen where the pattern unlock or face unlock feature should. View 1 Replies View RelatedSeal was an Amazon free app of the day that I downloaded a few days ago. I really don't think I installed it! However, the next thing I know, it's been installed and for many Xoom functions, it wants me to draw a pattern in the dots like the start-up screen. My normal start-up pattern doesn't work, and after I put in the wrong pattern a few times, it asked for my "favorite Vegas game." I tried answering the only Vegas games I know (my true favorite is Ski-Ball, what's yours?), but none of them worked. It lets me do this as long as I have patience, which is to say not much longer.

HTC is unlocking their phones.
I'm writing to ask for your favor - Please provide us, some enterprising Defy (MB525) owners, a way to unlock the bootloader.Rationale:1. You are providing means to unlock the bootloader on many newer devices already, and it shouldn't cost you much to provide us a mean to unlock the Defy as well.2. The warranty of many of our Defy devices is expiring, so even if we brick our device, we couldn't file a warranty claim anyway.3. The Defy is the 2nd most popular devices running CyanogenMod according to http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/, so we have a huge following.4. If you allow us to unlock the bootloader, we will consider it as a gesture of goodwill and will be more willing to recommend our families and friends to buy Motorola devices in future.
5. Many other manufacturers have started to unlock their bootloaders and by comparison, Motorola is doing very poorly and has a bad image in our mind.6. Many of us bought the Defy without any carrier subsidy.7. Come on! Give us a Christmas gift, okay
Att is suppose to be getting me a new unlock code for my backflip, so that I can switch to Tmobile,Once my phone is unlocked, will I be able to remove the ATT bloatware or compile the android OS released from motorola without it?Will any other ATT restrictions on the phone be lifted once it's fully unlocked?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBecause of the outcry of developers over locked bootloaders, most manufacturers have began to provide ways for their devices to be enhanced by enthusiasts and developers.[removed]Sony Ericsson provides an unlocked bootloader on devices not tied to carriers (http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/)Samsung has a tool called Odin that is used for flashing custom Roms, although not official from Samsung they are definitely aware of it and have allowed its use for over 12 months. (http://www.gizmocrave.com/6472-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-gets-custom-rom-though-unofficial/)TC has now come out to say that they will be reversing their stance on locking bootloaders immediately and have even mentioned unlocking devices that were previously locked. (http://www.facebook.com/HTC/posts/10150307320018084)
Verizon Wireless has also confirmed that they will allow unlocked HTC devices on their network. This nullifies any claims from Motorola that they will only unlock devices where carriers will allow. We are using the success of the recent HTC campaign to now get Motorola to not only commit to the Bootloader Solution, but to provide information on which devices will be included and encourage them to unlock older devices.
Does anyone know how to get unlock codes at wholesale prices? How to people get unlock codes that they sell on eBay?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, I send a friend of mine some pictures I took with my unlocked Omnia i910 and they tried to set them as wallpaper on their i465 Boost mobile phone, but when they press the menu button there is no option to set as wallpaper like with the pictures that were taken with their phones camera.I didn't know if there is a hack or unlocking method to undo this restriction that Boost put on their phones, I will be the one doing this, so that is why I am posting and not them.
I have unlocked and modded several phone before, did a google search on the i465 and only found pay sites, which is not what I want since I did pay one site 9.99 for the unlock code in the past and their code screwed up my phone.
I bought an Atrix 4g running Gingerbread this last Saturday (8/20/11). Over a day, it probably would freeze up 10 times. It would only freeze up when the display is off. When I go to hit the power button, the display wouldn't come up. The only way to restart it would be to pull the battery.
I read on this forum and some others that some apps could cause problems so I removed all downloaded apps (factory reset) but the problem persisted. I switched for a new Atrix from ATT and the same thing would happen. At this point I can't believe I got two bad phones from AT&T, so I feel like it must be something I have setup. The guys at the AT&T store said it could have to do with my exchange email I have setup for my work email. I configured it to not sync automatically and only manually. The problem would still persist.
I purchased this MB886 from AT&T but never activated it with them. I went with Consumer Cellular since they do not have a contract requirement. My Sim card from Consumer Cellular worked with the phone but no other carrier Sim card will since it is locked. AT&T does not have the code to unlock this phone since I did not activate it with them. Motorola still has the code and they will not give it to me.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy boyfriend has had his Flipside for almost a year now. He has an ongoing issue getting the screen to unlock for incoming calls. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He does not have any apps installed and, since the problem is intermittant, it's hard to figure out why the unlock slide doesn't work. I'd like for him to be able to unlock it with a different method, maybe by using the slide out keyboard. Any fixes/tips for this? It doesn't seem to be related to having water or grease on the screen
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my Motorola Atrix 2 to the new 4.0.4 OS. Previously, I had my phone set up so that I had to enter a pin # if my phone had been asleep for 30 minutes or more. Otherwise, if less than 30 minutes, turning the phone on (from sleep) went directly to the home screen (no swiping or unlock needed). Under the new OS, I cannot seem to keep this. Now, there is a 2-step unlock process (selecting key icon, and then unlock option -- lock icon -- in order to get to main screen). The only way to avoid this annoying 2-step process (that doesn't really add any security) is to turn off all locks, but I would prefer to have some security (i.e. through pin lock after 30 minutes asleep). Anyway to disable this annoying 2-step/swype feature when turning on phone without disabling all locks? If not, is there anyway to go back to my previous OS?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been having this occasional, recurring problem with my Verizon Droid X ever since I first got it last summer -- the phone rings, but I cannot unlock it to answer; it is as if it is frozen. Yet when the phone finally stops ringing, I can unlock the phone and use at as normal. This problem did not go away when the phone's Android OS was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2, nor to its current version of 2.2.1?

View 15 Replies View Relatedhaving issues with the fingerprint scanner after upgrading to 4.1.83? I was on 4.1.57, and did the upgrade to 4.1.83 yesterday. This has happened a 3 or 4 times now, where it will no longer register attempted fingerprint scans and I have to unlock with the swipe + numeric code fallback option. It just displays "Swipe finger sensor.", and no matter how many times I swipe my finger, it continues to display that message. I don't get a "Swipe was too fast" or "Finger did not verify...". It seems to just stop working. If I reboot the phone, it works again, until after a while it just randomly stops working again. I have a workaround, but I was curious if anyone else was seeing this behavior after a 4.1.83 upgrade. I found it strange, because the update doesn't mention anything about the fingerprint scanner, but of course that doesn't mean they didn't tweak something with that module.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T GoPhone account. When the phone boots up with an AT&T SIM card installed, it goes to the "SIM Network Unlock Pin" request screen. I have worked with both Motorola and AT&T tech support personnel for many, many hours to get my Atrix to accept the unlock code I have been given from AT&T (22314992). The Atrix response is always "Network unlock pin unsuccessful". The phone otherwise works beautifully after a fastboot coldboot (wi-fi, program installs & usage, etc). But one simple problem...I can not make phone calls.
