Motorola Razr :: Does Not Find Network After A Reboot With The WiFi On
Dec 16, 2011
The phone does not load properly and can not connect to the mobile operator's network when switched on, if it was off with the included Wi-Fi. When you turn on an error. Moreover, in Russia, this error is only at the largest operator - MTS. Replacing the SIMcard does not work?
I'm with Shaw Internet and I use their provided router/modem which is located in my room where I'm sitting typing this message. When I go into the Wi-Fi settings on my phone I can't connect to it. (It doesn't even show up on the list.)
I can however see the family router on the list and connect to it. I can connect to the Shaw router/cable modem in my room with my iPhone 3GS. (It displays on the list.)
I've tried to "Add network" > Network SSID / Security > Password etc. But that doesn't work either. It will say "Not in range" which is BS. The router is 10 feet from me.
I've tried to unplug/replug the modem/router to see if it would refresh on the list, but no dice.
I've tried disabling the Wi-Fi on my iPhone 3gs to see if my Razr could see the connection (Figured maybe It's a capacity issue.) But no luck there either.
At the very least I figure it should show on the list. If I take my phone outside I pick up everyone elses network...
Is there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.
Having a new problem finding and connecting to wifi hotspots / routers. When phone was new it used to find a list of available networks very quickly and connect to previously used networks without a problem. Now (only a few weeks old) the phone takes 2-3 minutes to "scan" for networks, then takes another 30sec or a minute to connect. Can't think of any settings I've changed which might have caused this. Have not installed any 3rd party wifi apps either.
when I have both wifi and 4g lte running on my Droid Razr Maxx (still running gingerbread), both indicators are blue. As I understand it the 4g lte indicator should turn white when I turn on wifi, which is what is use to do.
If I unmask my WiFi network, I can connect to it with my Droid Razr.
If I turn off broadcasting, I know its still there - I have laptops and an iPhone that still find it an can connect to it. But my new RAZR doesn't seem to know how to locate/connect to it .
What settings do I need to change to get this to work.
Don't know if it's just me, but occasionally I'll get my Wi-Fi tab (in Action Center and Settings) reporting that networks are "available" but it can't connect to any. Even my own network to which I connect all the time.
I have discovered that after a Reboot everything is back to normal. Wi-Fi connects fine.
I seem to have isolated it to when you leave a premises still connected Wi-Fi and let it drop-off you get this behaviour.
But surely you shouldn't have to turn Wi-Fi off every time you leave a place!!!
I upgraded my iphone 4S to 5.1.1 yesterday, and it cannot find any wifi network after that. It is not that it cannot join in any network, but it cannot *FIND* any wifi network. I reset the network settings, restarted the device, and it does not work. I could still use the 4G network.
I'm using Xperia mini Pro. Android 2.1. I see my wifi scanning but it never finds a network. Also the battery is been used by wifi. But I cannot find any network.
I'm not understanding how to find the wi-fi password. When it finds a network, it asks me to enter a password. How do I know what to type in?? I have searched online and the darn user guide and everything just says 'type the password in'. What password?! Where do I find this? In the alternative, if it doesn't find a network it says "choose a network" and then wants a name/security/password.
I am trying to connect to my home network which I always do but my phone cant find the network I dont know why, I tap on "other" and then I type the networks name and a message pops up saying "could not scan for wireless networks"
Me and my friends are traveling aborad now. My iphone's wifi was working even yesterday. but from today my iphone can't find any wifi from the same network i was using in this hotel yesterday. My friend got the same iphone 4 and his wifi is working properly. i did reset my network seetings, updated to IOS 5.1.1 and restored my Iphone but result is still the same.It can't find any wifi.
It all started on 5.1.1. I flashed a new build of carbon and suddenly it was searching for WiFi constantly and not finding it at all. So I did a clean install of exodus and then cm 12.1. So I went back to stock locked my boot loader on 6.0.1. The WiFi issue still persist.
I've noticed that after the ICS update, newly downloaded and installed widgets from Google Play don't show up in the Widgets list until I reboot. Not a critical bug, but annoying nonetheless. I have noticed this on my Acer A500 and A100 tablets on ICS as well, so I assume it's an OS problem, not hardware-specific. Wondering if anyone has found a workaround, and would also like Moto to be aware of this so that it can be corrected in the (hopefully) next update.
My first question is how often should you reboot your Razr to keep it running smoothly? Also, do you even have to reboot the phone at all, like you do a computer?
I have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.
i have disabled Internet, play books, and play movies several times and they always come back after a reboot. how do i stop this from happening? i am sick of bloat i do not want! is verizon, or google, or whoever even listening to us?
Droid RAZR - bought in November from Verizon store. Screen protectors and case are used; phone has experienced no trauma. While in Gmail today, the screen pixellated, became unresponsive, and now is inoperable. The screen appears as a mostly uniform field of slowly shifting color (pink, green) with a perhaps .75 inch bar of white on the bottom; see attached picture (it was hard to get a good shot because of the lighting). The phone still "works" internally - if you call it, it rings; the screen sleeps after an appropriate time and you can push the power button to bring it back; I hear the chime of emails and texts coming in. However, none of the menu/home/back buttons work, and touching the screen apparently does nothing. When I push the power button to "wake" the phone, the previously described white bar appears instantly, and the fuzzy colored remainder of the screen "develops" over about ten seconds.
I forced a reboot via the power button/volume trick, and heard the reboot process - but the same screen issue stayed throughout the reboot.I am at about 15% power; perhaps a complete shutdown forced by loss of battery power will eventually help. Plugging it in to a charger did not help.
My other half gets an error on her Razor Maxx phone that says " Network error please check the network" . It comes up just about every time she does anythign with the phone. She called the provider and did troubleshoot it and they say nothing is wrong with the settings and network. Almost say that it isn't happenning. This has become quite annoying and I've seen it myself. I have same phone and no issues with mine at all .. we purchased at same time and did upgrades at same time as well
So I preorder the RAZR and got it a day before the 11-11-11 launch. I had my phone setup and was about to go to bed and my device started a continuous reboot cycle that made the battery go dead by morning. I went to local store and the looked at it and said that they couldn't fix it will just give you a new one.I got a new RAZR and other that battery life issues which I am not happy about I can deal because I can have it charging in my office during the day. Well last night about 7 it started continuous reboot cycle this time I plugged it in and did a reset holding the power and the down volume. It been rebooting since last night I am not in my office with it plugged in.
On my brand new Razr (24hrs old!) - I have noticed that when the phone boots and the SD card is mounted, there is an Audible sound "DROID" - and its annoying. (Now, I am not talking about the mechanical sound/video that fires up when the phone boots). In Sound Settings I find a section called "SD Card Notifications". You can turn that off or on and here is the odd part. If I turn it On, it will use whatever I have the "Notification Ringtone" set at. That makes sense. If I turn if Off, it will use my "Phone Ring Tone"! - A long MP3... This does not make sense. In other words, I cannot silence it and I would like to. The phone does have a "Silent" ring tone (internally) but it is not one of the available "Notification Ringtones" I can use.
Every time I reboot my phone I lose notification sound for the first incoming text message. After the first it returns as normal. It always vibrates normally. Any ideas? I checked sound settings and they are all maxed out after a reboot, but still no sound until the second text message.
I put the Motorola toggle widgets on my home screen (e.g. toggle data, wifi, bluetooth, GPS). I rebooted and they disappeared. I tried to re-add them. I can't. I can add toggle widgets from the Android Market. I can't re-add the Motorola widgets, but also, the space where they should be is not available to add another widget either. i.e. I've now got a dead/unusable space on my home screen.
My new Xoom doesn't find any WiFi network. Where I am currently, there are at least three networks in reach, one of them is completely open. Neither of them shows up on the list of available networks.
If I set up mobile hotspot on Xoom, I can connect other devices via WiFi to Xoom, which leads me to believe hardware is ok.
I was trying to start the navagation app and select an address from Contacts to get directions. The response was no contacts have an address. The work around is to start up MAPS, find an address and then in the MAP app, select navigation. Is this how it is suppose to work? If not, is there a fix?
I have a few apps on my phone that can't locate the sd card. The most important of these (to me) are apps that are designed to read or import csv files and create little databases from the data.
All of them look for files on the sd card automatically and report that none are present (of course, I know they are because I put them there). One of them offers the option of searching for the files manually. When I do, instead of displaying the contents of my sd card, it displays the contents of my internal storage. I suspect that's where the apps that search automatically are looking as well.
I tried dismounting/remounting the sd card. Didn't work.
Yesterday I spoke to a second tier Motorola support agent. He tried various things by taking charge of my phone remotely, then did a factory reset. No joy. He said that in his opinion, the apps (all four of them) are at fault.
One of those apps worked perfectly under Gingerbread. I downloaded the other three when it stopped working after the ICS upgrade.
I had a similar problem with an mp3 player when it tried to automatically find the mp3 folder on my sd card. Did the same thing: examined the internal storage instead, even though I chose the option to search the external card. Fortunately, that app also had an option to search manually, and that function saw the sd card.
These data apps are very important to me. One developer said he's working on an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. The other developers haven't replied, though their sites claim that their products are compatible with Android 4.
Is this an operating system problem? A device problem? Is there a way to "tell" apps the path to your sd card? The names of the apps: Panacea Database, Sailforms, Memento, Collector.
If anyone else using a Razr Maxx running Ice Cream has found an app that can successfully import a csv file or read an mdb file (Microsoft Access) on the sd card
I plugged it in to the computer tonight to see what exactly was in the double folders that I can see in the gallery. My computer can't even find the device. Went to Moto's site and downloaded drivers and installed them. Nope. Cannot find device. Ok. Son plugged his phone in - nope no device found. My computer runs XP. His computer runs Win 7 and he also has a Maxx with JB update on it that he got the same time I did. His opens Motocast and that is it. No drive letters. So on a whim, we took both phones to my granddaughter's computer running XP also and hers found all the drives on both phones. Is there a setting I am missing? We didn't change anything when we went to her computer..just plugged it is and it found the device and opened all the drives.
I received the ICS update...everything has been fine but today i have no network. No bars, no 3G/4G/1X....i get a message that tells me a CDMA network cannot be found. Right now I have one tiny bar but that's all...
