I upgraded my iphone 4S to 5.1.1 yesterday, and it cannot find any wifi network after that. It is not that it cannot join in any network, but it cannot *FIND* any wifi network. I reset the network settings, restarted the device, and it does not work. I could still use the 4G network.

I'm not understanding how to find the wi-fi password. When it finds a network, it asks me to enter a password. How do I know what to type in?? I have searched online and the darn user guide and everything just says 'type the password in'. What password?! Where do I find this? In the alternative, if it doesn't find a network it says "choose a network" and then wants a name/security/password.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm with Shaw Internet and I use their provided router/modem which is located in my room where I'm sitting typing this message. When I go into the Wi-Fi settings on my phone I can't connect to it. (It doesn't even show up on the list.)
I can however see the family router on the list and connect to it. I can connect to the Shaw router/cable modem in my room with my iPhone 3GS. (It displays on the list.)
I've tried to "Add network" > Network SSID / Security > Password etc. But that doesn't work either. It will say "Not in range" which is BS. The router is 10 feet from me.
I've tried to unplug/replug the modem/router to see if it would refresh on the list, but no dice.
I've tried disabling the Wi-Fi on my iPhone 3gs to see if my Razr could see the connection (Figured maybe It's a capacity issue.) But no luck there either.
At the very least I figure it should show on the list. If I take my phone outside I pick up everyone elses network...

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt all started on 5.1.1. I flashed a new build of carbon and suddenly it was searching for WiFi constantly and not finding it at all. So I did a clean install of exodus and then cm 12.1. So I went back to stock locked my boot loader on 6.0.1. The WiFi issue still persist.

Is there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.

I have an iPhone 5S and it wouldn't find/connect to my wifi. I tried going and looking at connections available and my network wasn't listed, I also tried connecting manually and it would say "Unable to join network". My cousin has an iPhone 4S and it also happened to her, she checked with a nearby repair place and they said that we should restart out iPhone completely (meaning that our data etc. would be gone unless backed up) so my cousin took the risk and restarted her phone and it still was the same, "unable to join network" and no networks available. I get 3G in my area but I have been doing some research and as a result always keep edge on? That it's good for phone usage and text type applications like gmail chat and email? That if you are wanting to surf the Internet 3g and wifi is faster?
Basically the research that I have found is to keep edge on at all times and use 3g or wifi if you want faster results. Also keeping iPhone on edge network uses less battery?
Okay so there's this WiFi network at school. It is unsecured, and my teacher always connects to it. On my iPhone 3G it never shows up, though after I scan for networks using Stumbler (Stumbler says it's not hidden btw) it appears in the settings. So I click on it and it says "Cannot connect" (or something along those lines) and after the third try it disappears again. I tried using SpoofMAC to spoof my mac address to 11:11:11:11:11 and that didn't work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter a clean install (restored as a new iPhone) of iOS 5.1 on my iPhone 3GS it keeps asking me the wifi network password every time I want to connect. The system doesn't remember the password. The curious fact is that my iPad 2 isn't affected by this bug. It is on iOS 5.1 too but I simply upgraded it from 5.0.1 without a clean install. Resetting network settings doesn't make it to work, the same with an hard reset.
