I saw a post on this via google but is there a fix to the issue? I saw a drag and drop fix that I attempted but it dod not work, not sure if its because i tried a "replace" rather than delete and re-drag.
The Sync feature via itunes is great this suddenly started happening with some files.
My MOTOACTV has been acting funky lately. It's done a couple of weird things (including appearing to "brick" last night before dying), but the most frustrating is that audio files that used to be playable on it are now listed by the device as unplayable.I specifically converted protected audio files in iTunes to unprotected MPEG files (using TuneClone) and made sure to use just these files when creating the playlists for my MOTOACTV. For several weeks (I've had the product for a little over 2 months), all was well. The songs played just fine, the playlists worked as expected, etc... Lately, though, not so much.
The songs in question are still listed in my "Songs" list as well as under their respective playlists, but rather than being black text, they are a medium gray. When tapping on these songs (and it appears to be about 30% of the songs), I get the following message:Unplayable FileThis file appears to be an unsupported type and cannot be played.I was wondering whether the file(s) might have been corrupted somehow, so I completely unsynced all of my playlists, (theorhetically) deleting all music from the device. MotoCast USB reported all files being removed from the device. Then, I resynced all files, but the problem remains.Then, I thought that perhaps the ORIGINAL files were corrupted, so I tested the files on the device through Finder, and found that they played just fine in iTunes.
Another issue that is perplexing me is the fact that I have FAR more songs listed in my "Songs" list than should be present on the device. Currently, I've synced just 2 playlists, with a total of 46 songs, though there is a good bit of crossover, so I should have something like 30 songs on my device. I have many, many more than this liste
I am trying to copy mp3 files to the music folder. I have the motoact connected to USB port and I am just dragging the files to the folder. It seems that the folder is read only? I uncheck the read only under folder properties but it remains.

No matter how I try to access my webpage, the URL changes to [URL] on two different computers. Meanwhile, my daughter can access my webpage on her computer while sitting next to me. I might as well purchased a cheap *** pedometer, if I can't access my webpage!
View 6 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, I noticed my time was off by 1 hour. I didn't touch any of the time settings that I knew of....I went into the setting screen for the clock and where it used to say Eastern Time zone now says daylight savings time. Page further into the time settings, I got to the time set page which showed the correct time was set.I backed back out to the clock screen only to see it still showing 1 hour off... I shut the watch off and restarted it... After doing so, the time was now correct..

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to the music player and select a song to play, I get a message that tells me to plug in my headphones. The issue is that my headphones are plugged in. I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. The weird thing is that I can hear the boot up sounds through my headphones, as well as notifications. I just can't play music. I have the same issue with the FM radio.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync itunes with the Motoactv using the USB cord. As of right now I can see all of the prepopulated itunes playlists in MotoCast (ie 90s music, recently added) but none of the playlists I have created myself nor does it display the full population of music I currently have in itunes (306 in MotoCast versus 910 in itunes). When I go to sync it says the sync was successful but that 0 files were transferred. Is there a setting that needs to be changed or a different want to get this to sync. I am currently running Window XP, MotoCast Version 1.7.0151.0, and ITunes Version 10.5.3.3.

I selected which playlists I want to sync to the devive but it has still taken in a ton of additional music that I don't want. I do not want podasts on the device. I do not want anything other than the playlists I choose. How do I fix this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy new vehicle has a USB port that I can hook the Motoactv to. The system plays the BonusTracks playlist rather than the playlist that contains all of my downloaded songs. The same thing happens when I use the USB with my laptop. How can I change the system to use a playlist other than Bonus Tracks? Or how can I move all my music to the Bonus Tracks folder?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks whenever I go out for a run my music pauses on it's own. I then "un-pause" it and have to turn the volume back up and carry on. In some cases I cannot get the music to resume at all and I have to restart the moto. I have also found that if I start my music before I press start for the workout the music will pause when I press start. Initially it has been doing this under 10 times per 2 hour run. This morning it paused, without exageration, nearly 100 times. Needless to say I was cussing like a sailor for the duration of my run.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust bought the 16g Motoactv and went to use it for the first time yesterday and couldn't get any music to play. I hear the notifications saying "workout started" ect and the FM radio works fine, but any music i synced or even the "bonus" music that came with the device will not play. there is a play symbol showing up on the top of the screen but no music plays and when i go to the progress bar it reads 0:00 and does not move... any suggestions, this is driving me crazy seeing how i have not even gotten to enjoy this device once yet!!
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I was getting ready to go for my morning run and for some reason I could not get any of my songs to start playing. I switched out the headphones and still no luck. The weird part was I could hear the "beeps" when I changed the volume of the audio to higher or lower, but the music would just fail to play. I did try other songs and even the ones that came with the device. None worked.
I shoud note, I took the device on a long 18.5 mile run Saturday, the music played fine.. But it might of gotten a bit sweaty?
I have been getting error messages on my phone, first with mp3 and now with online videos, that the file type is not supported or cannot be played. Usually a reboot fixes it but not always. Not a consistent problem but once it starts it seems to happen a lot and then mysteriously stop.The second problem is my phone not ringing.Got yelled at for not answering the phone but it never rang. Shows missed calls but not making noise at all, even when I try to preview rings they won't play

Since the 2nd last firmware update my music will either not start or it will stop after 4 seconds of playing. This isn't my own music but the music that came with the device. I then try everything to get sound. I see the song playing I press play and pause and nothing.I reboot and everying is ok. Sometime rebooting does not work.

Lately (Since latest S/W upgrade to MA 1.7.12 N8) during the workout after few songs , the music start to get crazy, Song play for a few seconds and skip to the next song. later it get stuck. the coaching continue as usual. When i use music without the workout run or coaching then its fine. did anyone encounter it? when can we expected a new release of S/W to fix this BUG
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new MOTOACTV 8GB and have only used it to TRY and listen to music around the house and outside once to walk my dog. I can't get through three complete songs without the device stopping a song. Sometimes it will randomly start to song over after a few seconds, sometimes it will move on to the next song. I have done a factory reset, upgraded to the newest software 6.13, and tried three different music formats, all supported. The same things happens regardless of what I try. If I can't get this thing to play music I'm really skeptical as to the rest of the functions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI started this discussion on the old froum and didn't get it resolved. I had to send in my old MOTO due to repair issues. They sent back a new one. This new MOTO keeps stopping the music during my workouts. Last time I ran about 40 minutes and it quit. I got it going again but it then quit about 15 minutes later. Yes, it is fully charged and yes I use ITunes to sync the music. All songs are either mp3 or those recently purchased from ITunes Store. It does not always quit on the same song so I don't think encoding is the issue. The software is up to date. Should I call Motoorla support and reuqest a new unit? I was going to just "live with it" but why only have half a unit working? No, pressing the right hand button on the top does not get it started again. I have to let it alone for several minutes then it will start again aftger going into playlists and selecting the palylist I am using and press a song. It doesn't matter whether I use Shuffle of just press the first song in the list. Seems to be a hardware issue since my first MOTO didn't do this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't happen all the time, but the last few times I have run my motoactv just starts scrolling through songs and won't stop. Also, it will be playing a song and then suddenly go to the same song over and over again. Then there are times the songs just stop.

It seems to happen pretty randomly - when a track finishes, the player will just pause instead of playing the next track. It also happens sometimes when I hit the next track button. Not always the first time - could be after having skipped a few tracks, the player will just go to pause.

On every run the music (just set to shuffle) after about 20 minutes just starts jumping from one song to another - I tried resetting, one/off and have updated the software but all to no avail.

A big reason I switched to Android 2 years ago was to finally drop iTunes and WMP has never been a very appealing tool for managing my music. It strikes me as odd that an Android device would be dependent on an Apple or Windows product but perhaps I am misunderstanding this.
