I rmb someone else reported this but I can't find the post. who else had this problem? the left side of my touchscreen when closed has a gap now with the keyboard to the point where if i press on the touchscreen, it will depress and "click".it's getting really annoying and i'm trying to "bend" the slider back so it doesn't but obviously that doens't help.
View 1 Repliesi've been noticing that while I'm on apps such as Facebook or Instagram that my phone will start clicking on people's profiles, liking posts, or clicking links unprovoked. I thought maybe it was a problem with the apps, but I started noticing it happening whike sending a text the phone will click on suggested words by itself, and even if I'm just on the home screen apps will open on their own.

My touch screen has been playing up for several weeks nowWhen I try to touch the main screen it will select an area to the right of where I am touching, i.e. clicking the dial pad button will actually select the contacts button, clicking 'answer' on the keypad will put the caller on hold etc etc. Other times the scren will not respon at all.
The funny thing is, when I remove the phone's plastic casing, the touch screen works fine! Similarly, if i push the top part of the case to the sides (so it is not in contact with the digitiser) the touch screen will work again until my phone goes on lock and then when I unlock it the touch screen is stuffed again.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem. On one hand its as if the plastic casing of the phone is rubbing (putting pressure on) against the side of the touchscreen and causing it to not work (hardware) while on the other hand it could be software in that the problem keeps happening everytime the screen goes to sleep (it's not initialising right).The other problem which started at the exact same time is that the green button is not working sometimes when I try to answer calls or turn off my alarm.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? I've already done a hard reset. The next step is to buy a new digitizer/plastic case and see if that solves the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi.The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.

But after some minute It restart with a blank screen then reboot to OS and MSU says update failed. My last resort is to flash it via RSDLITE but when im trying to get into bootloader it shows blank screen then reboot to OS. I cant enter to my bootloader.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a moto milestone which I am using for last five/six months. Recently I realized that it's hardware keyboard is getting harder to slide out. While sliding out, it felt like it is brushing somewhere inside or the feeling was as if it needed lubrication.
I made a huge mistake (which I realized afterwards) of putting a drop of very thin high grade oil on the slider rail. Although it was only a single drop, it sipped through from inside the screen. After three days, it has started showing. The bottom portion of the screen looks like there are oily stains from side. The touch screen functionality has NOT got affected at all. But it is looking bad when the screen lights up and the background is white.
I had to replace the Digitizer Lens and the Flux Code with new ones in my Milestone A853.After the replacement every thing is working fine except one thing.Whenever I make a call the screen goes black on connecting the call.I can't see the caller number or Caller Screen.But when I slide the HW Keyboard slightly the Caller Screen appears.What is reason for this?Is this connected with the Digitizer or any other issue?And what is the remedy for this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit and a 6 month old Milestone 2 which has always succesfully connected to PC/Mac in USB mass storage mode, but when trying to connect to new Windows & PC the PC tries to install MTP drivers that fail.Solution is to select the failed device in device manager and manually install the driver selecting the device as a USB mass storage device and not the default MTP device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using iPhone 4, 5 and now 6. iPhone 6 has been making an unusual clicking noise when i touch / press bottom panel. It is normal to press bottom panel while clicking home button. I have shown it to Apple Genius Bar in Dublin CA and they could see and hear the bottom panel clicking.Â
It is difficult to hear the clicking noise in the store due to surrounding noise. i have uploaded a video to make it simpler for Apple to investigate. URL...I am running out of options with Apple Genius technicians. I can reproduce the problem after removing the case too.

1) I used to use the incase slider case for my iPod and 3GS. Loved it. Anything like this for the Droid? Unfortunately it's a slider phone so there's probably gonna be a tough time getting a hardshell case.. Anyway, what's a good case? I know there's always "that ebay case" but this applies to any phone. With iPhones especially there's a good number of quality reputable cases. What about for Droid?
2) Screen protector necessary? I see people go forever with iPhones and no screen protectors yet their screens are nice. Yeah, coated glass is hard to scratch like camera filters. What about the Droid's screen? Should I get one? I may just order Bodyguardz/Invisible Shield.
I have a milestone, and love the thing. Just today it started operating and running by itself. what i mean is when i unlock it, its opening applications, opening settings and just operating its self without me touching. This is not accidental cause i can see it right on my hand just doing all soughts of things like opening messages, playing music stopping and reshuffling and as if Ãnvisible hands' are operating it. sometimes its too fast that it hangs, becomes unresposive. i thought it was deu to the applications i downloaded

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a slight problem with my Milestone XT720. When I lock the screen (whether I just lock it using the power button or I wait for it to lock itself or I set up the code to lock the phone) after a while the screen lights up for a few seconds and after that it fades to black again. This happens 3 or 4 times in a row and then again after a while (maybe 10 or 20 minutes). I own this phone only few days and haven´t got completely in grips with it but I could not find any setting that would turn this off and neither I found anything useful in the user guide. Is this something I can fix by disabling something or is it a fault of some kind?
Personally, it does not bother me that much but I imagine it shortens battery life a bit so I´d rather sort it out.
I upgraded to 2.3.4 Gingerbread about a week ago. System version is 64.1.22.A953.Retail.en.GB No problem for the first few days but since then the screen switches off randomly (that new CRT-style shutdown, very cute). I can be viewing Google Maps, or using the camera, or browsing the web...doesn't seem to be a single trigger. The screen turns off and if I switch it back on quickly it will switch off again; if I wait a few seconds and switch on then it stops freaking out and the screen stays on.I've been using Cloudskipper and WinAmp with the lockscreen features enabled (since the stock music player on Milestone2 doesn't show up on the lockscreen). Could these be the culprits - is there something unstable in 2.3's lock-screen?Screen timeout and security timeout are set to 60 minutes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a ZAGG screen protector full body armor for my Milestone. I followed the given instructions and left the phone for a few days for the protector to completely attached itself to my phone. The problem is and im not sure if anyone else noticed but when i turn on my phone. I noticed that the display seems to have that red/orange effect but especially worse on a white background. It seems like a red/orange rainbow crystal effect, like tiny crystallized red dots all over the screen. I decided to leave the phone for a few more days that perhaps it is just the solution but it is still there. So, i removed my ZAGG and replaced with a new spare ZAGG (I bought 2 ZAGG protectors.) and this time, I tried it out WITHOUT any of the solution and still no luck.
I phoned ZAGG customer service and they said that it could be a defective ZAGG product. I am still waiting for the replacement and decided to get another second opinion from another customer service. She mentioned that it could be becuase i put too much solution but I did try it out WITHOUT the solution. So now i wasted 2 ZAGG protectors and no luck. Anybody else here in HF has put on a screen protector on a Milestone having the same effect as mine?
After spending 2 hours on the forums and 2 hrs on motorola website, downloading the motorola software update and finding that the updater says that your phone is up to date with 2.1 (where as the motorola site says 2.2 is now available) and browsing thru unending discussions, I was unable to update my Motorola milestone to Android 2.2. I last week sent my phone to the service center to ask them to update it to 2.2, they returned the phone saying it is up to date.I am sick of removing applications and always worrying about the remaining ROM availability. The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
I have this weird thing going on with my Atrix. I've had it for about six months and it was fine until now. What happens is that the touchscreen stops responding after it is turned off (pressing the power button) and back on. I can't unlock the phone, but the volume buttons are still responsive and I can still turn off the screen. If i reboot it (by removing the battery), it boots up just fine, with the screen working perfectly. It'll sometimes stop working when ending a call. The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime I turn off the screen, and when it happens, if I turn it off and back on it sometimes starts working again. It also seems to happen more frequently when the battery is low.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Electrify Friday, and so far I have dropped just about every call I have made with it. The screen doesn't turn off during calls and I am either pushing every button and trying to conference in the Moon, or I hang up.
I've turned on and off the pocket mode, I've rebooted with it on, and off. I've turned pocket mode off, rebooted, and then turned it back on. Nothing has worked. I don't have a case on it, I don't have a screen protector on it.
So my replacement iPhone 4 clicks when I tap the right side of the screen. I took off my Wrapsol to make sure it wasn't the screen protector. After testing my dad's iPhone 4, I realized the screen or back plate of mine must've been loose.
I immediately booked an appointment at the genius bar for tonight. So I go there and wait awhile for a genius to help me. One finally comes and he asks what the problem is. I explain it to him and he holds the phone and starts tapping it. He does hear the clicking sound and then hands it back to me. He says there will be a software fix coming soon. At this point, I was like "wait... what the heck are you talking about? It's a hardware problem" He claimed it was a software issue and told me not to worry about it. Since it was past 9pm at this point, I decided to not escalate this in some stupid way. I'm just going to call Applecare in the morning. Turns out some of these Apple geniuses aren't geniuses at all.
Before someone says the clicking came from the speakers, I'm completely sure they did not.
whenever i press my screen on the entire left side it clicks. Im not pressing it hard its literally tapping it to open an app.
