I did the software update on Motorola software update, and the phone now has a verizon logo when it powers up, but when I go to activate the phone, *228, it is alltel on the line. What else do i need to make this phone work? I've tried to flash in the verizon monster with rsd lite,"VRZ_P3_NN_C_07.7A.00I_01.05.00R_MONSTER_01.ra r", but the flash always fails.
Is it is possible to use my old Alltel LG AX265 (Banter) phone on the Verizon network by doing some software hocus pocus. I'm not very cell phone savvy, but I can follow simple directions as well as any 11 year-old.The Justin Timberlake look-alike at the Verizon store said I'd need to get a new phone from Verizon, and proceeded to push the Motorola Droid into my face. I'm sure it's a great phone, but I just want my almost-teenager to be reachable. I'm pretty sure he's gonna lose the phone within the year, so I'm not inclined to spend much money.
Is their any way to flash an LG ax830 (LG Glimmer) from Alltel to Verizon. I can can use as a phone right now but I can't send or receive MMS or data? I'd love to get web and mms working. Any thoughts? Can't find any Verizon bins for this phone. Does such a beast exist?
Would it be possible to flash my A455 Prepaid mobile from Telus to the Verizon firmware, or would the fact that it's prepaid mess up the flashing?I've been reading threads on people flashing their A455 to the Verizon firmware from Koodo Mobile, but noone ever mentions whether they have a prepaid phone or not.Would flashing a prepaid phone mess up the phone?
Can anyone help me out with flashing a Verizon voyager Vx10000 over to MetroPcs without losing the internet, the picture messaging or the music player? I can really use any tips or help on how to do this.
I have looked all around the internet searching for how to configure WAP and MMS after flashing. Supposedly you are supposed to use LGNPST (lab) to NVEDIT and change the WAP gateway, port, username, and password. I can change the gateways and ports but whenever I type in a different username or password it will not retain the value . Since it will not change the username or password I have set up a personal HottProxy using the default username and password, but it gives me the error "Connection failed. Please try again." I have also tried editing the values with LGDownload with no avail. If anyone has successfully got this to work please post the instructions here. I have also read about a paramtable that will store the username and password and allow changes to it. I preformed the hex edit with the third value changing it from 00 to 20 and that didn't do much. If there are links please PM me. Just as a heads up, I'm new to LG flashing (I usually do Motorolas), and am not really that familiar with all of these utilities. I have the LG VX9100 (VZW model) flashed to TELUS (CX91T09 or something like that).
A friend of mine has an Altell PPC6800 and she's now on verizon, she loves that phone and she's upset with the phone Verizon gave her a bit ago and still carries her 6800 even though it's non-functional. Do you have any advice on getting an Altell PPC6800 working on Verizon? She has called Verizon and had a bunch of rude representatives tell her it's not possible. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's the exact same phone hardware. To my knowledge Verizon also changed their policy to accept third party phones on their service sometime in 2008.
I have an Alltel V3M with my provider as Verizon. I have been trying all kinds of gateway and IP and port numbers and am not sure if I am trying to connect through Alltel as my browser indicates or what. I have tried all the settings from hottproxy and mark ventures site and have had nothing but errors. Does anyone have all the settings I need for this set up?
A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working). The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
Ok so I bought an env2 off a guy on craigslist. I dropped my old one in a puddle but I really loved my env 2 so I bought a used one from someone on craigslist. When I went to activate it I discovered it was on revol's network, I dont live in the city hence I can get coverage on revol. Still says verizon all over it when you turn it on and off. I am not very savvy with cell phones but I am with a computer. I took it to the verizon store and they tried to put new firmware on it but it didnt work. I have a tough time beleiving that it can go from verizons network to revols but not back, if anyone has a way that I can flash the phone back to verizon.
This is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. Is he pretty much out of luck or is there some alternate way of doing this that I haven't discovered yet?
HTC has abandoned the PPC6800 on their website -- does anyone know where one can find the most recent PPC6800 (Titan) Alltel stock ROM? Can't find it anywhere on the internet (the only place that has it, ppcgeeks, has a corrupted file.)
can someone please send the original sound file from the lg banter to my email: idefine.brit@yahoo.com i have deleted it without backup and now all of my preset ringtones are gone.
I cant remember the manual setup menu code (like ## something something, send) for Samsung first of all, so if someone could help me out with that I know I can do the rest myself.. But it was a phone once used for US cell and I want to use it on my Alltel plan. When I put the ESN on the verison website it keeps saying cannot activate the phone, but I am assuming its cuz I totally need to enter the manual setup first. Anyone know what that is? I've been searching on the forum for a while and cant seem to find it. After reading more I think I need to flash the phone to Alltel. I've used Bitpim before to edit things on phones before, is this what I am going to have to do? something with Bitpim?
Daughter got scammed on a Craigslist Touch Pro CDMA Alltel. It won't boot, just says Touch Pro for a few seconds then buzzes and reboots. It will do it forever. If I understand correctly, there a boot loader, then a rom. To do a non-OEM rom, you need to unlock the bootloader.Figured out how to get into boot loader mode and successfully flashed with latest ROM from HTC. Not clear if I put a new one on or reflashed the same one. No improvement. Now it says RAPH800 SPL-0.40.0000 MicroP-Hermann (etc).
I can't unlock the loader. Tried Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037 and got an error 262. In fact I tried all the others, ReLocker, Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_025_MFG just for the heck of it with the same error.I'm assuming that if I can unlock it, then put MightyRom or something similar.Would there be some other issue? Like a hardware problem stoping a preboot hardware test? It won't power on to the SPL when the battery *isn't* in place, power supply on. Nor do the boot loop run with no battery. If it's in boot loader mode, you can pull the batter.
I have a Samsung Hue 2 tethered as a modem through Alltel (now Verizon). It worked fine with Windows XP, but not with Windows 7. I called Samsung and was told that a Win 7 driver does not exist yet. This phone is still under contract so I cannot switch it for a different brand. Great, the only computer I could buy now is Win 7, 64 bit.
I am using an Alltel Scoop (AX260) on PPC. Voice and text work well but not MMS or Browser. Found the Data menu via ##data# . My question is: is it possible get MMS and Browser functional by just changing some of these settings? The sub-menus under "DATA" are: 1)Data set. 2) SMS 3) MMS 4)WAP Set. 5)AXCESS Fields under MMS are: Retry number, Gateway, MMSC Center, User Agent, MMSC Post URL, Upload Address, MMSC Post CGI, Authorization.Mostly want to be able to send media, Browser would be nice but is of minor concern. Also..."Gateway" is currently set as: mms.alltel.com, but when I try to edit it only allows input of numeric characters? Can connect to BitPim but only able to access "Filesystem" section.
I have the Alltel branded touch screen cell phone and need to reprogram it, I have the LGNPST LAB 1.2 I just need the .msi installer file for the Alltel AX8575. Can anyone help out on this one?
I just got a new Alltel Hue 2 and my GF has the doubletake and both of our phones do this. When you are texting with T9 is there a way to make the "0" cycle the words instead of having to select them from that popup menu?
The basic question is, can I hack this phone? What is best method in 2010?Boring Background: My wife and I both had Alltel V3m's when Verizon bought them out. Never thought of the V3m's as a "smartphone", but they work for the basics. When I physically broke mine, just purchased another "new" verizon v3m off of ebay for $75. This must be an older phone as it just uses ESN numbers, but has the newer 24.1_01.19.09.
After googling for days, searching this forum etc., all the information I can find seems old. Most start with... "if you have this software version stop, you can't do it". This locked down Verizon software is bad enough I may switch providers just to get rid of it (waiting on Android phones to mature). Can I revert this phone to sane software (having trouble believing I can't)? How would you do this in 2010?
I recently activated a refurbished motorola q (until iPhone 5 comes out) and I am having an issue in which texts from other carriers i.e AT&T, sprint, only show the first character of the text message. I am however able to receive full texts messages from verizon wireless subscribers. I am able to send text messages with out any problem to all parties. I contacted both verizon and motorola technical support and they basically pointed fingers at each other. Has any one else had this issue or know of a fix?
I am from Canada and purchased a USA Verizon Xoom 3G. Bell and Telus seem to run on the exact same network, but I am unable to get things up and running with them as the Xoom just cant "activate". The neetwork providers are asking if there is a way to change the APN setting in the Xoom as it appears to be searching for the Verizon Network. How can you do this as my Xoom only has a Home/Automatic setting under Mobile. There does not appear to be any manual setting
I used the Verizon update (*228) today on my E815 done this many times prior with no trouble. After the phone rebooted, I tried making a call.Signal bars all went away and the call would not connect.I then tried power-cycling the phone; same problem.Tried enabling Test Mode, forcing CDMA mode, still won't place calls.I'm limping along on my old LG VX4600 good thing I kept it. Is there anything I can do to fix my E815 (change firmware/PRL manually)?
I have used the search feature and been unable to find any information on this so if it is posted elsewhere I apologize. I have a Verizon Razr V3m that I would like to flash to Metro PCS. I am completely new to this process and need very easy to follow directions on how to do this. I do have slightly better than average computer skills so have a good understanding of how to do things.
Basically I need to know what program is best to download to do this, what the steps are to complete the process and what I should know before I start, ie: how to back up files from the phone that I am flashing, which files to back up, etc.
I have a cousin that has a droid that was originally Verizon but was flashed to metropcs and now wants it flashed back to Verizon. Now I have no idea how to or if its even possible so if anyone can point me in the right direction to a how to guide or maybe a site that can do this.
I have done extensive research and have yet to find a way to do it. Handscent, Group SMS... Chomp..ect.. Can rooting the phone make it possible? There are programs that say that is how to do it..I'm in dire straights here for my work senario..otherwise I will sadly have to switch..
I bought a Motorala Xoom from Best Buy. The Xoom has always been unable to connect the Verizon network. So far I have only used it with wifi. I really now need it to connect to Verizon. When I take it into the store the techies are at a loss. Should I contact Motorala directly? I receive this error: Activation failed, Unable to activate mobile data service. To try activiation again touch Try again. You can activate your mobile data service later in Settings under Wireless & networks > Mobile networks.
Just in case anyone is fighting with data connections today (3/2/12), Verizon has a 4G outage going - at least in my area. I'm in the Maryland suburbs outside DC. My service has been down for a couple of hours so far.
I cannot get this phone to work with a SIM from companies in Poland. I tried Orange,Play and T mobile.Voice worked with Orange but no data. I am more interested in data. The sim lock is unlocked and I set up the APN per instructions provided with the SIMs?
The back replaces the (extended) battery cover and it a bit thicker and heavier but not bad at all. It fits well on the phone, no issues and the back of the phone remains flat (no uneven raised portions on the cover). The cover connects to the four charing pins on the back of the phone (under the cover) so you don't need any cables that use the usb port as on some of the third party wireless phone chargers.Setup was as simple as changing the back of the phone, powering the charging pad and laying the phone on the pad. I didn't time how long it too to charge but when my phone was down 50% it didn't seem longer than the usb charger. There is an indicator on the pad that lets you know when the phone is not charging (off or not properly placed on the pad), charging or fully charged and an audible that sounds when you place the phone correctly on the pad.
You can feel when the phone is correctly placed as if there's a magnet in the pad and phone back. The bottom of the phone overhands the pad by about 1/2 inch. I was planning to get a picture frame type holder to prop up the pad so the phone can be easily viewed on my desk. With the phone being longer than the pad, it might not work as well as I wanted but I can probably still do it in landscape mode.
