Would it be possible to flash my A455 Prepaid mobile from Telus to the Verizon firmware, or would the fact that it's prepaid mess up the flashing?I've been reading threads on people flashing their A455 to the Verizon firmware from Koodo Mobile, but noone ever mentions whether they have a prepaid phone or not.Would flashing a prepaid phone mess up the phone?
View 1 RepliesI have looked all around the internet searching for how to configure WAP and MMS after flashing. Supposedly you are supposed to use LGNPST (lab) to NVEDIT and change the WAP gateway, port, username, and password. I can change the gateways and ports but whenever I type in a different username or password it will not retain the value . Since it will not change the username or password I have set up a personal HottProxy using the default username and password, but it gives me the error "Connection failed. Please try again." I have also tried editing the values with LGDownload with no avail. If anyone has successfully got this to work please post the instructions here. I have also read about a paramtable that will store the username and password and allow changes to it. I preformed the hex edit with the third value changing it from 00 to 20 and that didn't do much. If there are links please PM me. Just as a heads up, I'm new to LG flashing (I usually do Motorolas), and am not really that familiar with all of these utilities. I have the LG VX9100 (VZW model) flashed to TELUS (CX91T09 or something like that).

What else do i need to make this phone work? I've tried to flash in the verizon monster with rsd lite,"VRZ_P3_NN_C_07.7A.00I_01.05.00R_MONSTER_01.ra r", but the flash always fails.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a bunch of lg vx8500 black and white from telus and I'm having a real hard time putting it on pageplus, i need to know what the process is to make the phone recieve pictures and web, so far I program the phone for talk and text but no luck with pic messaging and web, I have lg download and all the cdma softwares but need some guidance I'm afraid I have downloaded too many solutions and files and now I'm really confused, if you need to be paid for your help I'm willing to discuss it since I really need a solution asap.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine has an Altell PPC6800 and she's now on verizon, she loves that phone and she's upset with the phone Verizon gave her a bit ago and still carries her 6800 even though it's non-functional. Do you have any advice on getting an Altell PPC6800 working on Verizon? She has called Verizon and had a bunch of rude representatives tell her it's not possible. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's the exact same phone hardware. To my knowledge Verizon also changed their policy to accept third party phones on their service sometime in 2008.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm really new to the whole mobile phone hacking thing, but I've tinkered around with just about everything else I own. So far, I've been able to get a look at the filesystem on my motorola rival A455 by using P2k Commander. From just manually exploring, I've found where the pictures, videos, and music are stored. However, my goal is to be able to rip the text messages stored on my phone and save them on my computer. I'm not terribly picky about how they come out formatted, but I would like to be able to read them. So far, I've looked at EMS_message_0.bin and EMS_message_1.bin as possible candidates, but upon making cue files and mounting them to a virtual drive, I got a corrupted data message from Windows and nothing showed up.
In short, does anyone know where text messages are stored on the rival's filesystem? And how can I export these files into a readable format?
Does anybody know what software it will take to backup the Rush OS for this phone, I have used RDS Lite to flash the phone but that will not allow me to create a backup of this software, any help would be very much appreciated, i have searched the net endlessly and cant find what tools are needed, I know its possible because a .shx has been made for Rush ver 1.29.15 and it worked

View 2 Replies View Relatedlast month, I inherited an LG-C900B (BELL) as my buddy had upgraded to an HTC TITAN Windows Phone. As I was frustrated with my force closing, stuck on Android 2.2, HTC Desire I decided to give WP a chance.
We unlocked the SIM from my TELUS HTC Desire and everything worked great. MMS, text, data, wifi, etc. Last week, I suddenly lost the ability to receive MMS messages from outside of the TELUS network. After a few days of troubleshooting and working with TELUS support, I'm at a loss.
I've done the following:
1. Reset my phone.
2. Downloaded the LG Network App to setup all my APN, Proxy IP, and MMSC settings automatically. (I did this last month when I was setting up my phone as well).
3. Upgraded my phone to the latest version available 7.10.8773.98.
I've also gained access to the MFG app to check my config.xml and to see what my network profile showed.
Current network profile: TLS_CA_302_220_ENG.xml
AlwaysON options: ON
Proxy enable options: OFF
Auto update options: ON
All of the following values are hard coded into the config.xml file after running the LG Network Setup App for TELUS 302-220.
APN: sp . telus . com
Proxy: 74.49.0.19
Port:80
MMSC: (aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc)
Has something changed? Funny when I go to aliasredirect.net t it comes up with a place holder page. Not sure if that's related or not.
I hate this! How do I turn it off? Nothing in settings...and I don't want to delete my email account. I just want it to stop loading the email app whenever I get an email.I have to Exit, Confirm (even though the confirm option is OFF), get dropped in the apps screen, and still have to click to get to the 'home' screen.Must be a way to disable automatic email checking?

So my first thought was, jailbreak and unlock. Well it appears that the person does not have a telus sim card and wants her original number with the phone.
Is this a no go? Is there anyway I can still get this iPhone 3G to work with Telus without a Telus sim?
A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working).The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
I have 2 cell phones; one on Telus contract, and a V3xx unlocked on Rogers Pay as You Go. I would like to be able to share a Telus plan, but Telus says the V3xx will not run on their 3G network. I installed a Telus SIM card, and it cannot find a network. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the Motorola to work with a Telus SIM card?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI noticed I could create an AnyCut shortcut to SIM Toolkit on my Telus Milestone, unlocked and running with Fido. But when it launched, it immediately force closed. I think it's cause Fido doesn't use SIM apps.Anyway I backed it up with Titanium Backup and then I figured it was safe to uninstall the Toolkit with Titanium too, cause I could always put it back later. When I tried though, it turned out Titanium hadn't actually backed up the toolkit successfully. I have tried various approaches to reinstalling the various versions of Stk.apk that I can find on the web but they all fail - including adb push. The app is in my /system/app directory but still doesn't show in AnyCut or Manage Applications anymore.
So two questions - 1) can someone post their Stk.apk from Telus Milestone 2.1? 2) Any idea how to get it back in there?I'm asking because I'd like to take the phone on a trip to the US soon where I'll use my AT&T GoPhone SIM, and I think that provider does use SIM apps. Thanks!

Is there some other advantage to making the Motorola Milestone work with Rogers network?It just seems many people dislike Rogers - is there something about Telus and the Milestone I should know about? Maybe locked into a contract at Rogers... but it's not like the Moto hardware is cheap without contract through Telus (something like $599 CAN).

I'm going with Motorola because it's about unlocking the Milestone to use elsewhere.Please post in here if you obtained an unlock code for a Telus Milestone and it worked. Even better would be a screenshot or photo/video of the screen, showing your Milestone is running on a non-Telus operator (double bonus if it shows 3G/HSPA reception). Let us know if there were any specific options you had to choose when buying the unlock code to make sure it's for the correct Milestone.
Please *also* post in here if the unlock code *didn't* work and let us know who sold you the lemon.
What frequency bands will the Telus Moto Milestone support? All the info seems to indicate 850/1900 for 3G and no info on 2G except for rumors saying the same as the EU milestone or only 850/1900.I was hoping for at least tri-band 3G and quad-band 2G. I am sick and tired of these phones with weak-sauce frequency bands.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI know there is another thread about the Telus update that came out a few days ago, but that thread is more about issues installing the update.Like most of you, i looked for new features and have not really found any, but figure there must be some improvements in 32MB of fixes.One thing I have noticed is much better battery life. After 3 days, I have noticed that I have significantly more battery when I get home at night with my normal usage.I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. Normally by the time I would get home, my phone would report under 15% or less. However I do have a Seidio extended battery (yeah the big honking one). The last few days I have had 40-50% battery left.
Since the milestone/droid has never recognized the extended battery's extra capacity, it reports battery % based on the standard battery size. So even though my battery would report 5%, I could run for 10-15 hours at 5%.So, is the battery life better with the update, or is the milestone now recognizing the extra capacity of the battery and just reporting it correctly.
Ok so I bought an env2 off a guy on craigslist. I dropped my old one in a puddle but I really loved my env 2 so I bought a used one from someone on craigslist. When I went to activate it I discovered it was on revol's network, I dont live in the city hence I can get coverage on revol. Still says verizon all over it when you turn it on and off. I am not very savvy with cell phones but I am with a computer. I took it to the verizon store and they tried to put new firmware on it but it didnt work. I have a tough time beleiving that it can go from verizons network to revols but not back, if anyone has a way that I can flash the phone back to verizon.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. Is he pretty much out of luck or is there some alternate way of doing this that I haven't discovered yet?
