When I haven't used my phone for a while and I pick it up and take it out if standby mode the 3G icon as well as the antenna indicators are white and then after a few seconds turn blue again. I can get and use data fine it just switches colors.I haven't noticed this behavior until the last week or so.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola RAZR international GSM version (XT910). It is an unlocked phone without any contract or carrier branding.
I seem to have issues whenever i try using my phone as a WiFi Hotspot. When the Hotspot is turned on the data connection drops. I have tried this while using the device as a hotspot for my iPad and/or my laptop. I'm able to browse normally when i'm directly browsing on the phone. But the moment i begin to use the phone as a WiFi Hotspot i see the data connection immediately getting terminated. Even the data toggle widget i have on my home screen gets toggled off automatically. It comes back up once the device i tether from stops trying to access the hotspot.
This is not a carrier limitation. I tried using the same SIM Card on 2 other unlocked phones (Xperia X10i and Galaxy S2) and they both tether just fine. I also contacted my carrier and had the network and APN settings reset while using the RAZR. That didn't seem to solve the issue either. I have tried every solution that i know of. I have even reset the phone to factory settings a couple of times. But nothing seems to work. There are no Smart Actions setup that conflict with the data connection. I'm totally clueless about what is causing this issue.
It is really frustrating to know that i am able to tether even on a two year old Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i that's running Android 2.3.3 but not on the brand new RAZR for which i had to pay around $700.

I know it is not a problem with my tablet, because when i am at home i will be connected to my home internet and i wont lose connection at all. How do you add another tile to that drop down menu? I want to add volume control as its the only thing missing that I use all the time. It's driving me nuts because at the moment the only way to silence my phone is to hold down the volume key. I went through all the settings and didnt see the "notification drawer" option anywhere.

If I have my headphones plugged directly into the dock itself the volume is considerably lower and have to have the media volume all the way up. When I have the headphones plugged directly into the phone the sound levels are normal. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been monitoring my E75 for a while now (>2 months), and it seems with the firmware 202.12.01, the ongoing call (conversation) will get drops whenever there is mysterious 3.5G data connectivity in the background. I have checked all the settings available and has set to 'always ask' before connecting to ISP 3/3.5G data connection. I am unable to determine which application is the culprit for the connectivity whenever it occurs. All I can see under connection wizard is that there is 3/3.5G data connection with traffic growing whenever there is a call drop. As there is no newer firmware than 202.12.01, wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issue.

I look at my battery usage and find that Phone Idle is the largest user of my battery. While researching this I find tons of folks who are like "that's normal", but it is almost always even with cell standby. My usage is as follows right now (and this is what it's been like for the past 3 days): phone idle: 37%. Display: 23%, Voice calls: 15%, android OS 10%, Cell standby: 8%. Those are not the numbers anyone else I've spoken to that is running android is seeing. They are seeing phone idle running even or just below cell standby. I'm off battery for 8 hours and down to 25%. I won't make it home before I have to plug in the phone, and for the last 6 months my battery has been making it all day.

View 12 Replies View RelatedProud owner of a Photon for a few days now. For the most part, aside from some minor glitches, I LOVE this phone so far. It's great. However I have one big problem.At work I have a decent 4G signal at my desk. My prior Evo got 1-2 (out of 3) bars and stayed connected all day with zero problems. My Photon connects to 4G just fine, but if I don't keep sending traffic over the network to the point where the 4G goes into what I assume is power save mode -- where the icon shows ZZZ instead of signal strength -- it will often lose connection in a silent way.What I mean is that I can then attempt to use apps, etc and the 4G will not transfer data, but still thinks it's connected. I'm not sure yet whether or not it stays in ZZZ mode or if the icon shows signal strength again, but I know for sure apps do not transfer data. For example when I listen to music, ScrobbleDroid starts queueing messages instead of sending them, etc. Also, GMail and IMAP push stop working, so I stop receiving email notifications. That is a BIG problem for me.
The problem goes away immediately if I either shut off 4G, or toggle 4G (turn it off then on right away). I have a completely standard xoom and noticed that its getting really warm even when in idle. It started happening last week. I thaught it might be an app I downloaded so uninstalled all new apps. Still getting warm and bad battery performance. So I done a full factory reset and still getting the issue.

My battery life had improved a little but...Even when the screen is off and I'm not using the phone, Phone Idle takes up most of the energy while in that state. Last night Phone Idle was on 6:51:43 while the phone was off of the battery for 7:53:53.On top of this, the phone is awake almost all night. It does drain only a little bit at night.During use Phone Idle still is on much of the time. My phone drains rapidly when the screen is on.The phone has signal all day and night. I'm in a good coverage area.My questions are: Is it normal for the phone to be awake when not in use for most of the time when not in use? Should Phone Idle be on most of the time when the phone has consistent good signal?

The gtalk remains online while i am using xoom but then after standby time my status goes to idle for the friends in my contact list and if they send me any message in this state I cant receive them and if they try to call me then the caller party hears the bell that as if it should be while someone calls on gtalk but i cant get the notification of call or any ring. Why Gtalk cant get calls on my xoom although it seems online to others in standby mode......is it some bug in android?

Data is eating though my pageplus prepaid. Is there any way to toggle data when I do/do not need it? I've googled, and so far, only method I found was switching the data from 3g to 1x, which isn't very helpful since all that does is consume the same amount of data at a slower rate.
