For some reason, I don't receive a notification when my phone receives an image text. The only way that I know there is an image text is if I happen to open my text screen to send a text. Then I have to automatically download the image, and then it notifies me that there is a text. I've tried changing all kinds of notifications.

A LOT of people unrelated to each other have told me they have called me and text me numerous times yet i receive nothing. wow, after the fifth call you answer the phone and you never responded to my text comments are getting pretty annoying. i hope that with a clean slate i have a better experience with ICS. it's amazing how ICS was released in November of last year and after 7 months of production Motorola screws things up.

My friend said he had recently got an update, if there was an update, what is the current build so I can verify mine, this issue has been going on for 1 to 2 weeks now. I use the stock text app as well as handcent. my friend uses only the stop app. any ideas as it is getting really irritating

My question is however: Can I keep sms enabled on both but just disable the message notification symbol and sound?I want to do this because my theme's homescreen shows my sms's and blocking them would make it look weird.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs text messaging. If I try to send an outgoing text at the same time that one is incoming it will not send the outgoing message. It will struggle for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (or even more) and eventually time out with a 'text was not sent' error message. For someone like me who sends thousands of texts a month it's the most annoying thing ever! Other phones do not have this problem.
Also the time stamp for texts does not work if the phone is powered off. For example: I turn my phone off at midnight and someone sends me a text at 1:00 AM. I turn my phone back on at 8AM. The text arrives but does not have the correct time stamp as being sent at 1:00 AM. It will be shown as 8AM. So I have no idea what time the message was actually sent. Once again other phones I have used did not have this problem.
Has anybody else noticed that the Razr Maxx wont separate the texts into multiple texts if you go over 160? I didnt notice it until I did it the other night, and got a sending error. I could have sworn in the past there was an option for this.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIts been a whole day not sure whats goin on i didnt acually realize it was happening untill a friend came over.I was sending texts out to family and friends but never getting any back which i though was weird but didn't think much of it maybe everone i sent one to was busy...unlikely.So my buddy came by and said he has been texting me back all day several times and i never awnsered just kept sayin whats up or you gettin my text lol.
I thought trying to update might solve the problem so i went to update my profile and prl and as soon as i hit update profile they all started coming in at once had tons of them. but now they dont come when people send them they all come together 15 or 20 minutes after they have wrote me back whats the deal.
Yesterday I realized that my phone was not receiving incoming texts or phone calls. I power cycled my phone and several texts from the last 1 1/2 days came through. My phone also started to work again. Has this happened to anyone else? Again this phone has a problem with its most basic function.

I then wont receive messages until hours later when I guess it finally has sent? Also, in my messaging its showing messages from years ago. I have to open the stock texting app, and I will immediately see the unread messages, and at that time I get the 'Droid' sound and the text icon appears in the notification bar. I am running a totally stock X2 with 2.3.3. I have no other text app installed other than the stock app, and I would rather keep it that way.

When texting or filling out forms on browser, whenever I use the "alt" key (as in alt+A for an '!'), or a (.) key (the period key) or some others... the keyboard freezes and the browser or text messaging is put into a "Force Close" or "Wait" situation. Occasionally, when I receive a text message, it displays the sender's correct phone number but the name displayed is that of a different contact. Even when I'm having a back-and-forth text conversation, one of the incoming texts will suddenly appear with someone else's name.

Another example, let's say that you have your Google Calendar sending you text reminders for events/meetings, etc. Even thought I deleted the first notice I still receive that exact same notice for something that happened two to five hours ago.

For some reason lately, I can't to get an attachment to go through (video or picture) for any of the text programs on the bionic. It runs, and runs, and runs (and uses up battery power) but it never seems to go through most of the time. At other times, it goes through (video) with no problems.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI use Moto Assist at home, so I can answer calls/texts with my voice and am notified by voice. When I get an incoming text now, I am asked if I would like to listen to the message, like always. Then it chimes like it's supposed to, indicating that it's my turn to say a command, but now, it just keeps chiming, and chiming, and it doesn't stop, never allowing me to say anything. The only way to stop it is to close the program.
When I receive an incoming call, I guess the usual, "Call from {name}, say Answer or Ignore". That works perfectly fine. But if I MISS the call, and it asks if I would like to send a text message to the caller, I run into the same issue as above.
I've tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the Assist updates. But I can't get it to function like it used to.
Problem I posted before, but figured this last update would fix. Phone will still not send group texts or texts longer than 160. Phone is stock Maxx.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the past week, my D4 has been putting incorrect time stamps on incoming text messages when using certain non-stock text messaging apps. All received texts (regardless of sender) are stamped 4 hours earlier than when they were actually sent. Makes threaded messaging a real pain.
Stock text message app is fine, as is Handcent. The problem seems to be isolated to GO SMS Pro (my preferred SMS app) and ICS Messaging (stock ICS-like). I have uninstalled both and reinstalled with no change.
