Motorola Droid X :: Maps Showing Wrong Direction
Jun 2, 2011When I get maps to find me the arrow shows me facing west when I'm facing east.When I put it in landscape the east west is correct but the north south then messes up.

Motorola Droid Bionic :: Lock Screen Clock Showing Wrong Time
Nov 19, 2012I'm running ICS on a Droid Bionic and the lockscreen clock is wrong. In settings, I have "automatic date & time" and "automatic time zone" selected. The Lock Screen is showing 5:15pm no matter what time it is. All other time functions seem to be correct.

Jul 27, 2015I was using Google maps today and its showing my location 5 km from my home when I'm sitting at home! I've tried hi accuracy mode in the settings, wiped the cache, ininstalled maps. All without success. Even Google earth is reporting the wrong location. what I can do to resolve it? Factory reset? How good a job does the restore feature on the pc version of smart switch do at restoring the phone?

The update was a success, however, now whenever he wants to type in his native Arabic it types from left to right not from right to left. The Arabic font shows correctly so it is supported but it seems there is this typing direction issue. Both of us live in Dubal and use Etisalat as our provider.

I am in Ohio and it is showing my location as in a neighborhood in Salt Lake city, Utah. I have turned location, WiFi and GPS on and off. Also I have turned the phone on and off. I am on T-Mobile and my other phones location is correct.

Jan 23, 2010I was very disappointed with the new version of ovi maps (with free voice guided navigation) due to the fact than the new version did not turn the map in the direction of travel. It turns while a route search is made, but not otherwise. Its was a cool feature which was available in ovi maps 3.0. In 3D mode this was really cool. I wonder why nokia scrapped this useful feature. Dec 29, 2011I've seen a couple of threads about location problems, and I have a question about it. Two weather applications show my location in NJ when I'm in NY, and while the two apps show different NJ towns, both are over one hundred miles from where I am. Weatherbug allowed me to turn off network location and use the phone's GPS, but it hasn't changed anything. At this location, I must use a network extender to get a signal, so that may be mucking up the location, but the weather app is off whether I'm here or somewhere else.

Aug 28, 2011I was trying to link my mom's contact to her facebook profile, and so I added her full name-- Kathy Jones. However, my phone auto synced her to another facebook contact... Katie Jones. On her contact card, I added my mom's cell number and email address, neither of which is the same as Katie's. However, my phone autosynced it with Katie, adding in her phone number and email address to the contact card. AND, because it is a facebook contact, i'm told "facebook contact information is not editable on this device" It's not a dealbreaker, just annoying, as the wrong photo shows up when my mom calls, and I'm afraid that one day i'm going to accidentally select the wrong number/email address.Is there anyway to unlink these? I don't want to disable all facebook syncing, as i like being able to quickly access profiles of my other contacts, and have photos connected to them. I'm just looking for a way to manually tell my phone that these two people, despite having the same last name and similar first names are not, in fact, the same person.

Sep 18, 2011My wife has a Droid X which has recently started acting up in the last few weeks. Using the stock Text Messaging app, when she responds to a text message, the receipent name and number is not the person who sent it, but someone else (usually someone she texted with recently). Sending it, it goes to the wrong person. Turning off/on the phone only helps for a short time, as it happens rather quickly again. I have done a Factory Reset on the phone twice and still it happens. I have even gone as far as installing Handcent and she still has the issue, but many times it will show the correct receipent name, but goes to someone else.

Nokia :: 5800 Wrong My Location When Using Ovi Maps
Aug 28, 2010I recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct).Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet.Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
HTC One M9 :: Why Wrong Name Showing When Contacts Are Calling
Nov 19, 2015My boss Frank has an HTC One M9. We had a colleague Brian whos number was saved on Franks phone. Brian has now left the company and the phone was given to his replacement Paul.
Frank has change the contact in his phone from Brian to Paul. When Paul calls Frank it still shows as Brian. I have check on the phone and can't find any trace of Brian. We use IBM Notes for email/contact which is synced to Franks phone and there is no longer any contact in IBM Notes relating to Frank.

Feb 14, 2010I have a couple of problems with this version.
1. On a stretch of about 48 Km of mostly highways MAPS more or less gets lost and give me completely wrong directions, like "turn left" on the highway (not in the UK!). GPS signal is strong and even an external Bluetooth with better sensors does no help. It happens always at the same spots.
2. On some longer trips MAPS did hang for a couple a minutes, usually at crucial moments.
3. During this 48 km trip, which I know very well, I use MAPS mainly for traffic announcements, it gives me directions that are far from optimal, not for shortest route nor for the fastest. The routes in version 2 where correct.
4. It is impossible to keep the Bluetooth link with my Nokia CK-1W car kit up longer that 5 minutes. Usually It disconnected after a minute or 3.

Aug 22, 2014I have a home automation system that uses my phone's location to identify if I am home. But the problem is when I start using my ps4 (and when it is standby). My phone thinks I am about a block away, it always returns to my actual location, but ever 10-20 minutes it jumps back to that wrong location. This issue only comes up when my PS4 is plugged in and on or in standby. This is causing the home system to think i went away for a couple of minutes, arming my home.Â

Jun 7, 2012When i bought my iphone i kept my old number for ease but when i have synced to itunes it is showing the number given with the phone which has never before been a problem but now i have updated to 5.1 it is causing a problem with imessages as it is sending them to other iphones as my original iphone number causing people to think i had changed number. I have disabled i messages for now until i can fix. my itunes account has my number i use so not sure what to do next?
