Motorola Droid 2 :: Why Not Unlock The Bootloaders
Oct 26, 2011Because of the outcry of developers over locked bootloaders, most manufacturers have began to provide ways for their devices to be enhanced by enthusiasts and developers.[removed]Sony Ericsson provides an unlocked bootloader on devices not tied to carriers (http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/)Samsung has a tool called Odin that is used for flashing custom Roms, although not official from Samsung they are definitely aware of it and have allowed its use for over 12 months. Verizon Wireless has also confirmed that they will allow unlocked HTC devices on their network. This nullifies any claims from Motorola that they will only unlock devices where carriers will allow. We are using the success of the recent HTC campaign to now get Motorola to not only commit to the Bootloader Solution, but to provide information on which devices will be included and encourage them to unlock older devices.
Motorola Droid Bionic :: HTC Unlocked Bootloaders?
Dec 30, 2011Just saw today that HTC is allowing the Thunderbolt and Droid Incredible 2 to get their bootloaders unlocked at their dev site. Link is here: droid-life.com. This brings up the issue about Verizon being the reason for Bionic and RAZR locked bootloaders. I've got a Bionic, Xoom and Droid X, and would like to unlock two of them. At the very least the Bionic should be unlockable

My D2 insists on locking every 15 minutes (requiring passcode), even though the ActiveSync Policy is set for "Not require password." When I go to Settings/Screen Lock the "None" and "Pattern" options are greyed out with the message "Disabled by remote phone administrator."
I've tried creating a new policy and linking my account, installing NoLock (didn't work).

Mar 1, 2012I have a roadster for my car which I love! My problem I am convinced is the phone. When I hit the button to voice command, on the roadster (call) no problem, works fine. If my phone is idle for awhile, I hit button on roadster....nothing! I have to turn my phone screen on.....put in my unlock code, then voice command from roadster works fine again. Once the phone time locks it stops responding. Having to pick up the phone and unlock with code every time I want to make a call kind of defeats the hands free idea. Incoming calls never a problem. Feb 10, 2012Periodically the screen will lock up on my Xyboard. It is not a system crash/lock. This is where the screen stops reacting to touch. Usually putting it in sleep mode with the power button and then waking it clears the problem. Other times it requires a hard reset -- hold power and volume down.
I've had this issue twice on my RAZR since I got it in December. I've had it happen at least 5 times on my Xyboard since I got it Feb 1st.

The setting is toggled to lock automatically after 5 seconds of the screen going off and immediately if you hit the power button.Settings under security)The problem is that randomly when you turn it back on, it will show the standard slide to unlock screen instead of the pin screen and then will just unlock if you slide it; completely bypasses the security lock.I don't think I set anything incorrectly as it behaves as intended 95% of the time. Feb 3, 2012My phone locked up/screen went black during a phonecall yesterday. It was at night. So, it was dark where I was. I tried to access the screen. It would produce a faint light, but would not let me access the screen, phone or any apps. I was talking on a bluetooth headset at the time. Normally at the end of a call, I could hang up the phone by pushing a button on my headset. That wouldn't work either. The only way I could hang up the phone was to pull the battery.
how to diagnose the problem or stop it from happening again? Or, is this just a BSOD (black screen of death where phone locks up and requires a battery pull) that happened while I was in a phone call?

Sep 13, 2015Verizon XT1254 Moto Droid Turbo, android version 5.1.About once a week I notice that my phone is on silent ringer, I might catch a call because I feel the vibe, or see a missed call. I check where the ring volume is and the slider is all the way to the left on silent. Pushing the vol up hardware key does nothing, touch and slide the slider and it will snap back to silent as soon as you lift your finger. I do have moto assist set to silence the phone from 11pm to 730am, but this problem seems to happen during the day, not just stuck from the nightly mute and the moto assist notification is not up on the screen. If I require the phone to ring at night, there is no problem just moving the slider and moto assist does not interfere.
I have checked through settings, tried multiple ways to raise the volume but nothing works. The only fix is to turn off the phone and then back on again. BTW, what happened to the quick menu that was under the lock button with a long hold that would allow volume changes, vibe on or off, airplane mode and restart? My Gzone has all that under a long press of the lock button.

Jul 3, 2015I just switched from a 2014 Moto X to Droid Turbo this morning. I updated the phone to lollipop and started to set things up how I like them. However, I cannot find the smart lock feature anywhere to set up trusted locations. I did set up my lock screen with a pin.
I googled to make sure this model has smart lock on lollipop and it does. I went through the steps on my moto x to make sure I wasn't missing it on the turbo.
