Motorola :: Where To Get Movies To Watch On Droid?
Jan 4, 2010I have searched several threads and have not found an answer. I apologize in advance if I missed it somewhere.I downloaded that app. Aldiko. I would love to read books on this app. Where can I find epub files to rent that I could use on this? I have tried my local library online but there aren't many choices. Is there a site that I could pay a one time fee and download epub files? I even downloaded Calibre but again, unable to find the books in the format that is needed.
Next question, where can I get movies to watch on my Droid? I tried downloading Handbrake and tried to transfer my DVD to my phone but getting an error message.

Oct 8, 2011I am unable to play HBO Go videos on my Bionic using the HBO Go app and the Bionic HD Station (dock). The videos display perfectly on my phone. When docked, I can see everything on my HD TV that I see on the Bionic until I press PLAY. The screen rotates to landscape on the TV then the following error message apperars: "Please unplug the HDMI or TV out connector and try to play the video again." I have done the following:
Powered off and removed the battery for 30 sec. as instructed by Motorola.Cleared the HBO Go app datUninstalled and reinstalled the HBO Go app Have talked with Tier 2 reps with Verizon and with Motorola. The latter says it's an HBO issue and that I should contact the developer. I haven't found an easy way to do that yet, but will keep trying. Until then

Aug 29, 2012I am wondering if anyone else has problems keeping wireless connected to WatchGuard firewalls since the ICS update. I have an XTM 23-W and an XTM 26-W both running the latest WatchGuard firmware, version 11.6.1. I have a DROID 4 that was recently updated to ICS.Ever since then, I cannot get it to stay connected to either XTM firewall on any access point (each device has 3 available APs). It will connect, authenticate, get an IP address, and work fine for 30-45 seconds, then disconnect, reconnect, and go through the whole process over and over again.The phone works fine at Starbucks (open networks), and it works at two different locations with two different Netgear wireless routers both using WPA2-PSK with AES, the same as the WatchGuard units.I have tried using 802.11 ngb, just gb, and b by itself. When using ngb, it does it about every 30-45 seconds, with gb it makes it as much as 90 seconds, and b only does it even more frequently. With an open network, it does it every 30 seconds or so.Changing channels from Auto (it was on 11) to 2 or 9 made no difference.Changing from WPA2-PSK and AES to an open network made no difference.Having only one AP active (they have 3), regardless of which one, made no difference.On my Netgear WNR3500L at home using WPA2-PSK with AES (the same as the WatchGuard units), it works fine.I cannot figure out why this phone will not stay connected.

When I recieve a text, one of the earlier texts drops off the string. Is there some setting I'm missing? When I used to scrol to the beginning of the string, there was a bar there that said "Show Earlier Messages" It is no longer there.

Apr 27, 2011I got a droid 2 global for Christmas for myself, and after I was finally getting to the point of loving it, it started to make my life miserable by continually powering off. Verizon replaced it with a refurb, and I've noticed that this one shows both the 3G and wifi icons when I'm at home/work with a wifi network onI do have an unlimited data package, however there are obvious benefits to using wifi as opposed to 3G, but how do I know (besides slow data) which one I'm using, and why is it doing this? I've only had this for a week, still have to do a bit of configuring, but I'm wondering if this is the tip of the iceberg and if I have another phone which is going to go psycho on me.

May 23, 2011It's a Droid 2 Global, running Android 2.2, System version is 2.4.330.A956.Verizon.en.US. This is my second device, same problem. When using GPS for anything (and I mean anything) it throws errors into logcat, showing specifically:
DATE TIME [ERROR] AKMD2(1167) x = x-axis y = y-axis z = z-axis
I can attest that this does not happen on the Droid X, which is virtually the same hardware/software. Hard reset, wiping the phone, factory reset, et al, all of those are not the solution. AKMD2 is part of the Droid 2 Global operating system. It's how this device's version of Android communicates with the GPS/compass hardware, a "driver" if you will. Every D2G has AKMD2, and this is my 2nd one showing an error.

I am logged into Photobucket, so it is not a login issue. Is there something in ICS that I have to enable to be able to upload pics in Facebook to my Photobucket account?

Nov 15, 2011I have discovered that some of my text messages are not being sent or received. Every text shows that it sends and shows a time within a few seconds. I would say I am 90% working fine, but important texts are falling through the cracks.Text messages I send with more than 160 characters auto blend into one message natively. Recipients are only receiving part #2.They never have received the first part on dozens of tries. Always the case from home and work. I'm connected to wifi at home and work. Oddly enough, I was able to disconnect from wifi and was able to send both parts of sms messages 4 out of 5 times. When i connected back to wifi, still only the 2nd part of the sms.A few of the regular sms messages that I confirmed didn't go through were more than 100 characters, but less than 160. So far, every small or low character count message has worked.
Didn't receive a couple of texts that I was able to verify were 100+ character texts. eems to be a larger message problem, but every picture I have sent has successfully gone through.Installed Go SMS tonight. Still had the issue when sending multipart texts that only text #2 came through.I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Sprint today. We did a battery pull and he did a phone refresh remotely. I tried a test text while he was on the phone. I sent a 2 parter to my wife and it was received. I thought the problem was fixed, but the very next 2 part text only showed the 2nd part of the message. I have not been able to get a 2 parter to go through since.

Nov 13, 2011For whatever reason I can't get the stock e-mail app to sync my G-mail account correctly, unless I use the manual sync. It shows every 15 minutes (not thrilled with that either) but still won't do it. I really like the stock e-mail app with the gesture swipe too and just the general look of it. How can the g-mail app continuously sync and not this one? Plus I don't want notifications coming up for both apps, it's pretty redundant.Data push is turned on for: my gmail accountFetch Schedule is every 15 minutes but it shows for "no accounts" can't find an option that connects my account.

Perhaps it's a problem with my unit, but if I wear the MA as a watch, no Bluetooth, no music etc. I have it timed out at 15 secs (makes a boring watch) and the brightness guite low... it never lasts the whole day before I have to recharge it. Seems a bit pointless having a "watch" that runs out of power before the day is through.If you use the MA simply as a watch (ignoring the silly steps counter which can't be turned off!) how long do you get?

Nov 14, 2011I'm also having a problem with this device. I don't know if it's a battery problem or not and I think it started happening after the latest firmware update. I haven't been able to run to give it a try but just using it as an every day watch, it shuts off at random times and the only way to get it back up is to connect it to a power source. When I restart the device, it shows the battery at what ever level it was at before it shut down. I also notice that the date and time have been resetted.

Feb 26, 2012While trying to remove the Motoactv from the wrist strap the screen went to some sort of boot screen listing the version and something about plug in with usb cable. I am always careful not to push on the buttons when removing the unit from any of the mounts. It would not respond to anything I did. I even tried plugging it into the computer via usb. Nothing! Finally I just held down all the buttons until it turned off. When I powered it back up everything seemed to work correctly.How did this short happen and how do I get my watch out of the wrist strap?

Mar 13, 2012It would be nice to be able to lock any screen, not just the workout screens. For example, I like to wear the Motoactv as a watch. You can have the it dim the screen, but not go off, if you tell it not to timeout the screen in workout, and then do a walking workout. However, when I touch the watch by mistake, it goes to my timepiece setup screen. Locking it at any screen would solve this. Also, having a dim mode to save the battery for watch use would be nice.
