For the past week I've been running in high accuracy location mode because, for one I wanted to see if battery saving mode really saved much battery, and, also when I do need gps it's already on. I found that any difference in battery drain is negligible because gps is almost never on unless I'm specifically using it. Also if I have a phone with certain capabilities I want to utilize those capabilities. And what you've found as far as battery drain.
I have not been able to use any tracking apps with my phone. I have the GPS on and set to high accuracy mode. The maps app pre-installed on the phone sometimes show the location several streets away. Which tracking apps are you using?
Just got a nexus 5. I switched the location settings to battery saver but if I turn off location it defaults back to high accuracy mode when I turn it back on which drains my battery quickly.
I was going through apps and somehow got on the one that describes each button as you use it. i now cannot swipe to the other app screens or the other home screens and the phone talks all of the time and i have to triple tap on things to make them work....
Is there a way for Bluetooth to turn on automatically when the phone is in drive mode? I have already paired my Bluetooth car stereo with my phone. I do not want to use NFC tags or paid apps like Tasker.
Motorola Left Out Guest Mode and Multi-User Support in Your DROID Turbo’s Lollipop Update...With Android 5.0, Google introduced support for guest accounts and additional users on phones. When Google pushed Android 5.1 a few months after 5.0, they didn’t remove the feature. Although, if you are a DROID Turbo owner who recently updated to Android 5.1 (it’s rolling out now to all by the way), you are probably wondering where it is.
More recently, my droid turbo has been turning rainbow colors instead of black with the time when it's charging. If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!
Does any one else still have a high pitch noise coming from the phone with headphones in? I don't primarily listen to my phone for music, so it's really not too big of a deal, but it sure is annoying. I thought the OTA was supposed to fix that. And it's not my headphones, they're beats studios.
Over the past few days I've run into something new. I've gotten a number of high cpu usge notifications in the notification bar, but when I open up the task manager to see what is running amuck, the total displayed cpu usage looks small. how to track down the culprit? No new apps, but lots of updates recently, and I really don't want to start randomly deleting apps till I find the one causing this (I've got about 100 apps installed, of which I use probably 10-15 on a daily basis) As a side note my extended battery lost 50% of it's power while plugged into a computer via usb in 3 hours... That has never happened, the computer usb charger has always been more than enough to stop any power drain (while streaming pandora, and connected to bluetooth headphones).
First time I've gotten this alert. Not rooted. Was in dock all night.Pulled it out of dock and within moments I got an alert I've not seen before, in the status bar.I went to the task manager to see what it was all about and the OS was using 54% of the CPU.Moments later it jumped to 80+ percent. It kept moving between 50-ish and 80+ from moment to moment.I ended up shutting the phone off and restarting it.After doing that, no more alerts, but the first time I checked the OS following the restart, it was at 27%.Basically, it's now using a minimum of 16% and sometimes more than 25%, but never more than roughly 30%.IS THAT NORMAL?oh, and as a test, I put it back in the dock for a moment or two, took it out, and no "high CPU usage" alerts.
Every so often when playing a game or hearing my phone ring, my sound goes weird and it sounds tinny and high. It always self corrects usually on the next play of a turn or another call. I think this may have also happened on my OG Droid.
I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.
A while back, I downloaded Google Calendar 5.2. That obviously created duplicate calendars (stock and 5.2). Any reminder or event added to the newer calendar showed up on the older one. I had hoped that with various updates, the old calendar would be removed. How can I get rid of the old calendar?
Why does textra use 192+mb? I'm trying different ones out and noticed textra is 192 mb on my app list. Also tried chomp and it's made by same company and its just 15mb?
I just got several texts from a couple of my contacts and another one that I don't know. They said "New MMS message to download: size 1KB, expires on 3/21, 8:54 PM." If i click download, it attempts to download it but fails. I'm using Hangouts, I haven't given my phone number out recently, and if it matters I'm using a beta test version of Nova.
Any way to increase (and maintain) a louder volume from the speaker while using speakerphone or Bluetooth speaker? My Maxx was awesome!! I thought for sure when I got the Turbo it would be equivalent.
I often find myself disappointed in the output. The really strange part is that I swear that it changes somehow. One phone call on speakerphone is great. Same number calls back later and not so much! I didn't change anything. I then try to increase my volume to no avail. My Bluetooth does that as well watching a YouTube video. I can start the video nice and loud. Stop it for a bit to return later and I can't hear the dang thing.
I use all factory Android software without any additional apps, etc. for volume controls. All levels are set to high. No droppage or any damage to the speaker or phone.
I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect.
Over the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
I have a droid turbo and it won't let me make my own music my ringtone. I've put music in the "ringtones" folder and it wont show up on my phone. I've had music in the folder before and had my own ringtones but when I tried to add more of my music to the folder or completely switch out the songs it didn't show up on my phone.
i just installed the the outlook app on my droid turbo.when i send an e-mail, the recipient see's that it is coming from my e-mail address (@hotmail.com) how can i change it so that they see it is coming from my actual name instead of my e-mail address?
I installed Snapchat a few days ago. I added some of my friends and use it alot. Today I get a message from Verizon stating I've used 95% of my data and still have 11 days left in this cycle. Does Snapchat use that much data??
