View 7 RepliesOn ICS the integrated motoprint functions are great, making print to a remote printer work vwry smoothly.
However, I can not find a way to print the text of an email using gmail. I can't find any print option on the screen or menu functions. Attachments print OK.
Motoprint app on my Razr Maxx can't find my Brother HL2270DW laser printer.

We only have laptops and they are not on all the time so we need an app-based solution so we can print from our iDevices.
I see the Print app (for $10) in the app store. Are there other apps out there to print wirelessly? We have an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 4 and an original iPad (iPad Classic?) btw.

When I print a picture from my iphone to an airprinter it prints the picture in 4x6 format. How can I print a picture in full size 8x11?

I have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy RAZR wifi is always on. I go the battery app in the phone menu and it says wifi is on all day everyday but if you toggle wifi its already off and I've tried everything from rebooting to mashing buttons like an idiot. This seems to be unrelated to ics it just randomly started doing it this past few days like since last Thursday.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have two droid razrs on my verizon account. they are both currently with no service due to my brother sticking me with a 1500 dollar phone bill that being said one of them will not connect to wifi says "error" and thats all and the bluetooth isnt working either during my research i have found others with this same problem but no solution if neither connected i would probably shrug it off as verizon shut off my wifi access but that is not the case i have done hours of research and cant seem to find a solution on my own so my question or rather questions are as follows: How do i fix this issue if even possible? What could have caused this issue? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? Should i just try and get a replacement when i pay my bill and get service reconnected? my phones are not rooted or altered in anyway they are stock exactly the way you buy them at verizon store?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I check email (gmail, earthlink) or use the browser the wifi turns itself on. To be clear it is OFF to start with. Then when I do these functions the ? mark in the wifi symbol appears and it says "wifi network available, select a preferred network" and it is now turned on. I turn it off and then it goes on again as I said. Just got phone, only apps added were no lock and battery widget if that helps.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI sometimes use my RAZR to connect to a WiFi hotspot that has no Internet access. (I'm in the field running a computerized telescope.) In that situation, is it possible to use the 4G LTE channel to establish an Internet connection so I can check email, etc.? If so, how would I set this up? Ideally I would want to have a Smart Action or a toggle to switch between normal mode and my astronomy mode.I'm running the new .181 OTA, stock.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAt home I am pretty sure it does the same thing. This morning when I got to the office, I noticed it was telling me that I have a wifi available. Open it up and there was the known wifi I have been connected to before, all week. Odd though, it says disabled but when i click it to connect, it says obtaining ip but then does back to not connected and says disabled. So basically I cannot connect to the wifi and I am 110% positive I have the correct password since I have connected to it just yesterday. Also curious why it isn't just connecting automatically to a known wifi. I have checked and others are on it right now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust picked up my RAZR. Only issue so far is the WiFi. The phone will connect to my home network but any attempt to use the browser gives a connection error. Same issue with any application that requires a data connection. My laptop connects with no issue and my Droid X connects with no problem.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhile using the DROID Razr Maxx at home, wifi is turned on and works great. When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is somewhat counterproductive if a person wants to set smartactions based on location, unless we want to leave Wifi permanently enabled. Is there a workaround? I have several location-based smartactions set up, but they fail if I dont leave wifi on, which I don't want to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had the Razr Maxx HD for a couple of months without any problems. After updating to JB, I now have a consistent problem with the phone freezing and then rebooting whenever I move out of one of my Wi-Fi APN connections. For example, while at home and connected to my home Wi-Fi, the phone is fine. As soon as I walk outside and leave my Wi-Fi coverage area, the phone will freeze. A few minutes later it will reboot on its own. Same thing at work. When I enter one of my "remembered" Wi-Fi APN coverage areas, the phone will connect OK and work OK through Wi-Fi, but as soon as I leave the area, it freezes. If I disable W-Fi, no more problems.
An exception to this is that recently I stayed several days at a hotel and connected to the hotel's Wi-Fi, and had no problems whatsoever when I left the hotel on numerous occassions.
My Maxx does not reconnect to 3 or 4G after using WIFI. When I toggle off wifi the 4G bars are white and I get a no connectivity message when trying to get e-mail. Then I restart the phone and all is good.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince installing a new Netgear 7550 modem/router from AT&T, I have been having trouble with the WiFi on my Verizon Razr. I can connect to the network and browse just fine for a while, but eventually the WiFi indicator changes from blue to grey and no apps will load data. This includes not being able to load webpages. I also notice that once the icon goes grey, only the upward pointing triangle within the WiFi indicator comes on. Of course restarting the phone or rebooting the router restores the connection for a time, but eventually it drops again. Once the icon turns grey I get the following from the settings menu:
Status
Connected
Signal strength
Excellent
Link speed
72Mbps
Secruity
WPA/WPA2 PSK
IP address
192.168.1.xxx (the last three numbers never seem to change)
Got a Razr Maxx a few months ago and had issues getting any data services when connected to "some" wifi networks. With my previous phone, the HTC Incredible, I connected flawlessly to all of them. Verizon support thought it was hardware related with wifi receiver so exchanged phone... Been doing some digging and searching and also several hours on phone with Verizon and Motorola Support. What it appears to be is that something in the phone is assigned a static IP address of 192.168.20.1, unfortunately this is the default factory set wifi router gateway address on many wifi routers so it connects to the wifi network BUT cannot receive any data because of the IP conflict. I ran the app PING & DNS and tested this with 4G and with the two wifi networks at my work which showed what I was seeing, connection but no data service. When connected to 4G this is what I saw :
--- Apr 23, 2012 2:08:17 PM
--- IP (rmnet1) 10.191.226.53
--- IP (usb1) 192.168.20.1
[code]....
You can see that the IP address 192.168.20.1 is static in all tests. Read on the web many other people having this issue and how they fixed it was to change the default gateway IP address in their wifi router. Can't exactly walk into McDonalds, or Starbucks, or my work for that matter and ask them to change the default gateway on their wifi router because my Motorola phone has an IP conflict and can't be changed. The last Motorola support tech I spoke with was escalating the case but I haven't heard back yet. One thing he suggested it might be is that the Razr Maxx can be a mobile hotspot so it acts like a wifi router. And this may be the default wifi gateway for the phone when IT is a wifi router. But can't seem to find a way to change this and not subscribed to Mobile Hotspot so can't get in there to see what settings there are.I have two other coworkers who have the Razr Maxx and have the exact same issues. And with our older phones we connected and worked wifi here flawlessly. Being in a big steel building we have a hard time getting 4G service and even when we do, we're now tapping into our data subscription rather than free wifi.
So sitting in my house I have to do the "Stand on one foot with a finger on my nose" routine to get any sort of data signal. Just trying to find a way to send/receive pictures over my WiFi if at all possible.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I connect to Wifi, the 4G icon doesn't disappear... I can't tell if 4G is still connected. I can't be using cell data while on Wifi because I have the limited plan on Verizon. The only way I could get it to disappear was to go into Wifi settings and disable mobile data. How do I get it to not use 4G or make the icon disappear when I'm connected to Wifi?
