View 5 RepliesI love that Motorola has built in unread counts to certain icons (email, text message, hone, calendar, etc.) but I noticed that there isn't an unread count for the gmail icon. Was this done on purpose? Or am I missing a settings option where I can turn this on?Also, I don't know if the calendar app on Moto phones did this before, but it's a nice touch that the icon changes with the current date.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have the Razr Maxx. On day one, we attached our Google Voice accounts to our new Verizon accounts. A couple of days ago, a Verizon voicemail notification showed up on my wife's phone, my phone is working fine.
When I click on the notfication icon, it dials *86 and I just get the voicemail greeting from Voice and it allow me to leave a voicemail, which is very strange. The icon "New Voicemail(1)" will not go away. There is no delete option. I tried hitting 7 in call to delete the message. I even tried to force close the app and clear cache. I have searched Google and several phone forums. I even unregistered her Voice and registered it again.
Does any of you would know what the strange icon on the notification bar means? It is the second icon from left to right on the screenshot

Now the amazon icon is stuck in the upper left part of the phone in the "notification" area. How do you get rid of this. I even went back and downloaded the app again then deleted it. It annoying the heck out of me.how to remove the icon?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I connect to Wifi, the 4G icon doesn't disappear... I can't tell if 4G is still connected. I can't be using cell data while on Wifi because I have the limited plan on Verizon. The only way I could get it to disappear was to go into Wifi settings and disable mobile data. How do I get it to not use 4G or make the icon disappear when I'm connected to Wifi?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the 4g data icon remains on when a WiFi connection is active on my Razr Maxx. Is this normal behavior? The reason I'm asking is because the 3g icon used to disappear on my Droid X when WiFi was connected, I thought the Maxx would behave in the same way.
View 6 Replies View RelatedNoticed lately that when I enable my Wifi connection that the 3G icon will stay active at the same time as the Wifi icon (I live in Northern New Jersey, no 4G for me). In this state, the Wifi icon is blue and the 3G icon is white. Usually when you activate wifi and it is done connecting the 3G icon goes away completely. Was thinking maybe one of my installed apps hosed this up. Tried running the phone in safe mode to see if it would change anything, but the condition persisted. Not a big deal, wifi works fine.......it's more of a problem with the owner (me) who can't seem to let things like this go

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter Update , sometime my notifcation bar does not drop down. I have to turn off/ turn back on to make it work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThere's a notification that pops up whenever the keyboard is open. Selecting it lets me switch input methods. Has anybody found a way to make this notification go away for good?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIt's not consistent, but the notification bar is gone on the lockscreen when I power on the phone. If I unlock, the bar comes down, but only after several seconds. It seems to only happen when I have a paused application there, but I usually do with my podcast player, BeyondPod, though it happens with other apps, like the Google Player app. How do I always have the notification bar there? When it's there, I can pull it down to do things even with the phone locked, so I don't see why it should randomly disappear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am activly chatting with someone, each message recieved is playing the alert sound, and displaying in the notification bar. This didn't happen on my DX. On the DX, all sounds and alerts were muted for an app while I was activly using it. I don't want chat alerts WHILE I am chatting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEven when the phone is locked I am able to access the notification bar and access email. Once done viewing email the phone remains unlocked. This is definitely a security loophole.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got the orange triangle notification yesterday saying something about having to re-enter my password. I enter it and I'm told it's invalid but I know it isn't. I change the password three or four times and keep getting the same results. However going directly to a Google site the passwords worked every time and yet my phone authentication whatever you want to call it tells me its wrong. Can't access Google play or update any app atm.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the option selected, Options>Sound>. to notify when the battery is fully charged.I'm not getting a sound, a blinking LED, or anything in the status bar stating that the battery is charged as I did with GB. The only way I know it's charged is by going into options and checking the battery status under device options. The only change I have that I think could be affecting it is that I have the screen lock function turned off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I had my Incredible I was able to set a different notification sound for each Gmail account (2), Facebook, voice-mail, texting, etc. When I do this on my Maxx with ICS whatever the last one is that I set up automatically becomes the :default sound" and all the apps use that sound...it overrides the sound that I set in each individual app. How can I get what I want done?
View 3 Replies View RelatedTech at Verizon did not know how to turn off email notification. Would like to do so.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am stumped by this one. When I listen to music in the standard music player that comes with the phone (My Music), it creates a notification with the song that I am listening too (thumbs up). However, I am unable to clear this notification even when I stop listening to music and exit out of the program (thumbs down).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid Razr Nov 10th; had problems so Nov 11 evening I reformated device, factory reset.
As of this morning on Nov 19th I noticed my LED notification light flashing, so I turned on screen to see what I missed. Nothing. Okay so I unlocked phone and waited a minute to see if some third party application will tell me I have a notification. Nothing.
I turned display off, waited a min and it started flashing again. This time I had to go to work so I turned off device 100% and went to work; 6hrs later I turned on device and I got the LED notification light again. Still cant figure it out. After texting a friend, his 2nd text finally made it go away.
I attended a wedding ceremony as a guest and put my cell phone on Airplane mode so no distractions during wedding and thankfully no lights. 1hr later I re enabled all Data (turned off Airplane mode) and still no LED notification.
I thought I was saved.
But I was wrong. After 2hrs I'm getitng the LED notification light again. Tech thought it had something to do with battery, well at at any rate I'm getting a new device, will be here Wednesday but apparently its still blinking at me.
Heck I even have that thing plugged into the AC charging battery and its still going off. The weird thing is, is that when I turn a blank black screen to power up for me so I can use device the LED light goes away, but when I turn off the display (not powering device off) it comes back.
Verizon tried to get me to Motorola Tech Support but guess what, during the transition of being transferred it was 5:59 then 6:00 and the phone cut me off so their website shows them being closed. i just missed the transfer to talk to someone at motorola by 1 minute. So now i have to wait til after 3pm PST tomorrow before i call Motorola back about this issue. Til then I'm hoping someone else knows something
I leave my phone in the dock by my bed and have a timeframe smart action set to turn off all ringers but I can't seem to find a way to turn off the notification light. It gets kind of annoying to wake up to get a drink and see that light flashing because of a new email like a new photon or an email. If I could set a smart action to turn the light off at night that would be excellent.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Droid2 to a Droid3. My Droid3, when connected, via USB cable to my laptop (running Ubuntu) will charge (lightning bolt on the battery, etc), but no notification sound/icon allowing selection of USB mode. I have a cable I bought from the Verizon store. The same cable works with the droid2 still. I can swap from the droid3 to the droid2 and it would connect and my laptop would mount the sdcard (in usb mass storage mode). I have also tried at different computers at work. I had Verizon send me another refurbished droid3. It wouldn't connect either. Motorola Tier 2 tech walked me through the basic checks again, and had me do many combinations of turning on and off, and unplugging the battery, and factory resets to no avail. I asked the tech support to try it on one of their models and she said it worked there, coming up with a notification.
Next I went into a Verizon store, tested with a new cable and multiple computers there, and had an employee try with their droid3. Still no notification message with either of our phones! They said I should wait for update. I have 90days of warranty on this phone, should I wait for an update or maybe even ICS? or return it with hopes I just have seen three droid3's in a row with this problem, and they are not all like this? Or even possibly a different phone? (i like the droid 3 otherwise).
I just received my D3 today and this afternoon an icon showed up the in the notification bar.It is located between the clock and the battery icon, it looks like a box with a check mark in it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm noticing that my battery life isn't what it seems to be after the upgrade.asically, I rarely check my battery status other than looking at the icon in the notification bar. Today, it clearly showed about 75%. I thought that was pretty good considering the phone was off the charger for about 20 hours (extended battery).I took a look at the battery status details and I see my battery is actually at 50%. The icon obviously is a limited indicator but I don't recall it being so far off prior to the upgrade. Has this changed or is it just that I'm remembering it "differently"?By the way, 73% was used by Android System and 50% (extended battery) after 20 hours of standby is still not good and not even close to specifications. Clearly this needs more work.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that while listening to any music (motocast or local) the player will show in the notification bar that it is scrobbing to Last.fm, which I configured and have a vaild login to.hen I go to the Last.fm website and look at last played tracks, none of the music that was "scrobbed" shows up. Has anyone else seen the problem ?
View 5 Replies View Relatedwith the JB update, using either the lockscreen or power-buttion sound on/off toggle, could have sworn that it would turn off the Ringer AND Notificatiuon sounds to quickly put the phone into vibrate mode for the two sounds. Thought that ICS had both go to vibrate.
Is this by design or glitch?. I'm forced to go to sounds and put the Notification all the way down to achieve my quieting the phone when I need to.
I have a new RAZR M and the notification light doesn't seem to work. It doesn't light when new email is received or when I plug it in to charge.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen the screen is locked and off and I receive a text message, the screen briefly lights up before going dark, playing the notification sound and lighting up the LED. I believe this is only happening since the JB upgrade, but I only had the phone a little over a week before the upgrade so I may not have noticed it.
