Both Motorola & Verzion list this phone as having 16gbs of internal memory. When I go to the storage settings it only shows 8gbs with now only 2gbs available. Using a third party file app called Astro it also confirms only 8gbs of internal storage space.
View 6 RepliesI just set up MotoCast, and it's pretty awesome (I had no idea, because I have been using doubletwist this whole time). I do have two questions about downloading music to the phone via MotoCast.1.) Is there a way to designate downloads to go to the External SD card instead of internal memory? It seems like it will only go to internal memory until you max it out and it gives you the option to move things to the external card. This seems like a silly step, couldn't it just go directly to the external card?2.) My music displays in playlists when streaming from my computer, but when I select download a playlist and disconnect from the computer (in a no-data environement) the playlist disappears and all of my music is just dumped into the app unoragnized. Is there a way to maintain the playlist after data is dropped and you can't access your computer?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had to move some apps to the SD card to free up memory. Well, I noticed something odd, and I'm trying to figure out what the bleep is going on. When you have an app in phone memory, the storage totals are significantly higher than if its on the SD card.
For example, Google's Sky Map app. On the phone, it takes 2.54Mb of storage for the app alone. But when I move it to the SD card, it's only taking 468Kb. So, um, what happened to the other 2000 or so Kb? Now, I know different storage media will have different requirements, and hence possibly differing memory used, but a 2Mb difference? Its an even bigger difference with other apps. Google Earth is about 15Mb on the SD card and 22Mb on the phone. And before somebody asks, no, its not just google apps, anything I can move does the same thing.
I have a droid 1, running 2.2.2 FRG83G. The phone is working just fine, but this is making me batty.
this summer, I've broken the LCD SCREEN on my phone, MOTOROLA RAZR XT910 . There is a lot, like A LOT of informations and files that I need, I've alrady tried to connect via the HDMI CABLE, but nothing. It's connected to the computer and I can't access the files, because it says to "insert a disk into the driver". Is there any program on the NET so I can get my files back and put them on my computer?

I have the Droid 3 and I want to get rid of it. The deal breaker is the way that motorola has the internal storage partitioned and it seems they arent going to fix it. Does the razr have it partitioned so you can only use 2 gigs of internal space max for apps? If it does then I will pass on the Razr.

I only watched a couple of the pictures while they being taken, but everything seemed to be working fine. Picture showed up after being taken.

This feature is very important to me as a Linux user. This feature was present when I purchased the phone and Android 4.0.4 (ICS). View 13 Replies View RelatedI know we are at the point that some of us are giving our reviews of ICS while the rest are waiting for their update to happen at all... but here are a few things missing that i have noticed..first, Task Manager. is it not needed at this point or did the assume we would just download one? i used mine instead of using a task killer ( i know i know that debate is an old one) but i miss having it on there.omeone else mentioned the "in pocket detection" was also gone. I used mine with and without it and never really saw it a difference. mine is in the otterbox holder most of the time, and in my pocket only off work. but its still gone.
the other is the3g only, which has already been discussed and told how to change it anyway. I downloaded the app which is an HTC thunderbolt app that was recomended on the droid news n guide app, but i cant tell you if it works lol.. im hardly ever in a 4g area.while there are a lot of good things in ICS and the fact that it looks so different does give you the "new phone feeling" i wonder why these were taken off.
Is it possible to restore missing stock applications? namely filemanager and browser yes I know I can get similiar functioning apps on market but I want the stock ones back if possible

(no paperclip symbol). I receive all other attachments fine when the email is not digitally signed.Using Verizon Wireless as carrier.if the signed email was sent to my Gmail account all attachments appear as normal.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have an Atrix 4g (stock)running gingerbread 2.3.6 i noticed a file listed as LOST.DIR. on my internal memory when i open it the names of the files are listed as numbers ranging from 92 to 1315. 126 files in total. when i try to open them it keeps saying "unable to open this type of file". when i long click it for file options and click info it shows me file properties with the following info "? 98 TYPE:FILE, FOLDER:/MNT/SDCARD/LOST.DIR, SIZE: 4KB, MODIFIED ON: DEC 31, 1979 7:00PM". every file size is 4kb and they all say modified on Dec 31, 1979 @ 7:00pm. can any one out there please tell me what this is and if they are safe to delete or how to restore the files. i am very confused about the modified date, i was 2yrs old in 1979
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen having the camera save photos to the internal memory, or the SD card, then connecting the phone in MTP USB mode to get the files , the timestamps on the photos are incorrect. I'll take a picture at 5:00PM or something and the file is modified at 3AM etc.
I just took a photo saved to the SD card at 8:49AM and the timestamp is 3:49PM.
Is it possible to move an app to the 32gb internal memory from main memory. I know that the external sd card is read only but why can't you move an app from main memory to internal memory like you can with a phone? The move to sd card is always grayed.

Today, it can no longer connect to the internet. I connected the phone to the computer to try to troubleshoot it and that doesn't work. I really want to throw it out the window! To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.
