Recently com.motorola.service.main has been draining my battery rapidly. The phone itself seems to be running hotter. My usage patterns have not changes, but my data usage has increased. I've used 1.6G in 6 days when last month I was hard pressed to use 2G total.

After reading this forum, I have done all the necessary "tricks" to try and limit the battery draining, including:
-Resetting all settings.
-Rebooting the phone.
-Putting the screen brightness down to half.
-Stopping my emails pushing (now only fetch every hour).
-Turning off Background App Refresh.
-Only making iCloud back up Contacts, Calendars and Photos. Â
I have fully charged my phone and have nothing in the background, yet after 5 minutes my usage had upped by 2 minutes and my standby upped by 5 minutes.
I didn't do anything with the phone but 1 text message came through.Â
Sometimes my phone will go all the way down quite quickly to something like 30% but when I plug it in to charge, it shoots straight back up to what it was at.
Early I was flicking through Facebook, only reading status and watching a couple of short videos and my percentage shot down by like 40% in 5 odd minutes.
Facebook really drains the battery I think, along with watching short videos on Facebook.Â
My phone is less than 2 years old so its abit of a joke if I need a new battery already... I've been looking at the iPhone 6 when it comes out but this has put me right off.Â

Please try again.I've tried again and I still get an error. I've tried rebooting and I still get an error. Yahoo and Gmail are fine.I also get this error when I try to amend the settings in Accounts:"The application Email authenticator (process com.motorola.provider.authenticator) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."There are loads of posts of this topic for all Motorola Android phones (this is the first discussion for Motorola Razr) - none of them have a decent solution!

My problem is that I carry my phone in my front pocket and sometimes when the alarm notice goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket and the window to turn off the alarm is no longer there. Taking the phone out of my pocket somehow removed the alarm window. I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm except to turn completely turn the whole phone off then turn it back on again (which takes a long time because it has to go through the whole boot process.
Does anyone know how to turn of a scheduled alarm when the alarm window is no longer on the screen?

It was working fine until about 1:00 today. I have also noticed that double tapping the home key brings up voice commands. Is there any way to turn this off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to GB and ever since my battery has been getting completely drained very quickly. When I look at the Battery Usage stats, I have the following:
Android OS: 85%
Display: 10%
Launcher Pro: 3%
Phone Idle: 2%
Cell Standby: 2%
Besides the fact that the percentages don't add up to 100%, I have never seen the Android OS be so high in battery usage. When I click on Android OS for further detail, it says CPU Total = 1h 15m 35s. My phone was fully charged and I have only been on battery 1h 42m 0s. If these stats are correct, that means the Android system has been using my CPU for almost the whole time my phone has been on. What would cause this? Its very frustrating that I am down to 50% battery after only having my phone on for less than 2 hours. In the time my phone has been on, I haven't done any processor intensive task like web browsing and have not run any apps at all other than Gmail.
I updated the software on my Droid 3 about a week ago. Ever since the battery life on my phone has been awful.Lucky to last 4-5 hours.I have noted that when I turn on to flight mode (but still use the GPS) the battery life remains reasonable. If I have any sort of network coverage the battery just drains. I get the feeling that the new software now polls all the time and the constant network traffic it is generating is draining the battery.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had the Droid Turbo for a few months now, and the battery life has been great. It was the biggest reason I bought this phone in the first place. Over the past two days, however, the battery life has DRAMATICALLY downgraded. At 11 p.m. last night, I had 58% battery life with no apps running. The phone was in sleep mode. That much battery should have been able to get me through last night and ALL of TODAY. This morning, I check my phone, and I'm at 22% with the phone not in use for 8 hours.
All of the bells and whistles on this device are turned off. I don't have the reach out display thing turned on where it recognizes your movement. The screen is only taking up 30% of the battery draw. I have the bare minimum notifications turned on - the rest are off. My system did NOT update within the last two days. The battery simply seems to be freaking out.
So recently (in the last few days), ive noticed that my 9700's battery life has been terrible, not being able to last through the day. My usage has not changed at all to warrant this behaviour. Also, i dont have stuff running in the background so i know its nothing like a rogue app killing resources
After getting pissed about it, i decided to investigate. Looking at the log (ALT-LGLG) ive noticed that its doing Geolocation calls every few minutes...what gives...has anyone experienced this? Also, how can i find out what is making the API call to the Geolocation service so i can troubleshoot this problem..
I thought ICS was suppose to extend battery life? My MAXX wont last very long lately since the ICS, And its suppose to have a very long battery life, what happened?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new installation of Windows 7 on a new computer and am having a difficult time connecting to my phone by either USB or by Bluetooth FTP Service. It appears that I can connect correctly to the Bluetooth Audio Services, but as I cannot get any music onto my phone I am having a hard time testing it.On Bluetooth installation I had two devices that were not installed correctly. Through trial and error I discovered that these two devices are related to the Generic Access Service and the Generic Attributes Service, both of which I have disabled on my Win7 Bluetooth phone properties.
I HAVE installed Motorola Device Manager with no success resolving. In fact, I cannot see where MDM is even accessible on my system: no system tray icon, no start menu link, etc.I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure if my image upload will work correctly, but in essence the phone Operation Panel in Win7 shows the FTP Service as active but clicking the Browse button does nothing. I do get a prompt on my phone initially asking for permision for my computer to access the phone, but then nothing.
I've had no data connection all day, only voice and text, but 3G only phones work fine. Called Verizon and they only gave me a refund for no data today, but wouldn't say why or how long. I guess its on there end since they didn't even try to see if my phone was the problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep getting Backup Assistant popping up when I want to save a contact or other things, and I want it disabled or removed and I've found no way to do that. I don't need to backup anything with Verizon or Motorola... I already do that with Google. How do I disable or remove this stuff so it's not constantly popping up or running in the background or starting up and taking up memory?
Also the Sync Service seems to be constantly there and I'm not sure what it does. It's red arrows circling a black lock and looks like another Motorola or Verizon app that I don't need that will get in the way.
Last week or two my phone battery has been draining much faster. Also the phone gets very hot, bot not where the battery is but below the battery. Also last few weeks many apps have grown more and more sluggish. This phone is so problemattic. I have done two previous factory resets in last 12 months

My question is, is this information about what WAS running or information on what IS running. or both.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I was on a road trip today and when I plugged in the phone in the car dock I had full battery. Then I turned on navigation and slacker radio. About an hour travel the battery started to charge according to the battery icon. My question is, why did the battery discharge while on external power? Does the factory charger not have enough capacity to charge the phone while being used? If so something is wrong with the whole designe of the charging system.

It has did this twice in the last week. I have not run it til it shuts off so I don't know how long it would last from 20% to being out of juice.

I did not transfer any files between the PC and the phone and when I do, I still do it by copying and pasting. I did however find some Amazon downloads that were in the phone's internal memory and transfered them to the SD card. When I used "My Files" to move those files, I first used the "move" command which did not seem to do anything. Did this activate Motocast? I eventually moved them by using copy and then paste on the phone. Here's what I got in the battery manager right now. I'm at 90%
