The wife and I both have Razrs. For some reason, I got the notification to update to ICS, she never did. So, when you go to system updates, you can download ICS, but when you procede to update, it gives the attached message.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAndroid OS keeps using 35 to 45% of the battery. My droid, DroidX, and Thunderbolt never used that much. This is the culprit for such a horrible battery life. I have the wifi off now and gps off when im not using it and it still has issues holding the charge for awhile. I wish I could delete the motocast account to see if that is the issue but I cant. Could it be smart actions that is causing the thing to continually search for triggers and wear battery? Or is it motocast? I don't use motocast or the stock music app ever and my mac is off too. So I want to know why the android OS is eating this battery up. Is there some fix on the way? I deleted every app and it still will show that android OS as the main battery hog by a lot. I only have gmail I don't have facebook updating anything so I really don't know what's going on.. I do know that when i used cpu spy the 300 megahertz was used for longer than the phone was in deep sleep. So something is using the CPU in that range non stop it seems.

However, my Macbook Pro (currently running Lion) does not register the phone as a USB device, and AFT asks me to connect my phone with a USB cable to get started.

Even with a strong 4g signial it will just say loading for up to a minute before it completes loading. Before the update the app would always load very fast. I have cleared data on the app and uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does the same thing.

Accepted an OTA update this morning (verizon, not sure what code it was, I didn't look closely enough). Update failed and phone now only boots to bootloader. I have tried the power up while holding X key, and that gets me to triangle and droid guy, but from the search key does nothing, I cannot get the menu up to reset the phone.

After doing the hard reset, it's now in an infinite loop of the android update logo (green android with the spinning blue thing), then the motorola logo, then a black screen.

The issue: on a Motorola Droid pro, running 2.3.2, CompanionLink's Outlook sync ran reasonably well, although it required some odd steps which they claim are driven by the OS. After the Android 2.3.3 update, CompanionLink (AKA DejaOffice) fails consistently and without useful error output. The software on the PC side does not recognize that sync has started on the device side -- which is how it's supposed to work on a Droid -- and never runs to completion.
The PCs in question are running either Windows 7 Pro 64 or Windows XP. Both exhibit similar symptoms. CompanionLink tech support has been useless -- by definition, since they haven't solved my problem. They appear to be being slammed with a large number of cases reported and have no plan they're willing to discuss to address the problem. So: (The two most common, turning off bluetooth and turning off USB debugging, don't work for me, by the way. Already tried 'em.) Well, I didn't know what that was so my phone was totally locked. I got home & looked it up & it wanted me to put in my Motocast password. I did that & then it told me that it looked like my carrier was Verizon & that it did not support Motoblur. What the heck. So I had to do a full system reset.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStarting immediately after the ICS upgrade, I began having problems with the stock browser. Basically, after a few pages of activity, the browser will freeze and completely stop working. The only way to get back to browsing is to go to Manage Apps and Force Close or restart the phone. Some sites seem to cause the problem faster than others but it seems it will eventually happen on any site. I have tried warm reboot which seems to maybe give longer use before freezing again, but that may not actually be correct. I have been trying to avoid a factory reset.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter two failed updates I've factory reset my phone, reformmated both the internal and external SD cards, yet every time I download the ICS update (6.16.212) it still fails during the unpacking of the download. OTA download completes 100%, but when the phone reboots to unpack and install the update it fails on the unpacking job. What is worse is that that OTA update must be downloaded again, everytime after it fails. I've downloaded it 7 times since this morning, factory reset, download, card re-formates, download... This whole experiance with Verizon and Motorola, waiting, waiting, and waiting some more, only to have the update finally here and have it fail on unpacking every single time?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where i receive the standard unlock screen even though I have a password configured. If I use the slide menu I am never prompted for my password. There are also times when the normal unlock screen will flash up and then go straight to my password.
Current configuration: PIN, lock screen after 5 sec, lock immediatly on power press.
This only happens when I allow the screen to go to sleep on it's own. If i press the power button I am not seeing the issue.
I got my Razr Maxx on 6/21 and everything worked great on GB. I took the ICS update Saturday night and thus far, have only found one issue that I can't seem to resolve. Since the update, I no longer have camera shutter sounds. While this may not be a real major issue, I do like to have the feature available especially when taking pictures outdoors in the sunlight when the screen is harder to see. Shutter sound is enabled in the stock camera app.
All phone volumes are set to maximum and as far as I know, all other audio actions are working as they should (ringtones, alarms, media, voice and all system sounds). I've tried the typical power cycle, soft reboot, cache partition wipe, cleared data and cache in the stock camera app. I've tried other 3rd party camera apps and also don't have any shutter sounds in those apps either with shutter sound feature enabled. I've uninstalled any other apps that I can think of that might have contradictory volume settings and started up in Safe Mode and still no camera shutter sounds.
My question is about the circles widget. It is beyond frustration to me that it takes what seems like hours to update the weather. Even after touching the weather circle and it displaying the weather app, it still will typically not update. Maybe it's just me, but I see zero use in having a widget that tells me the weather from 2 hours ago. It is also incredibly annoying to be driving to work, the sun has been out shining bright for an hour and a half, it's 50-60F degrees outside, and I unlock the phone to see an image of the night sky and the moon, and a temp of 30F.
I would have more forgiveness if this was some random widget I downloaded from the Play store, but this came installed with the phone, created by Motorola, designed for my device. For the time being, I have actually removed it from the main screen because it has just become frustrating and I am tired of constantly tapping on the weather and hoping it will update. There doesn't even seem to be a refresh option once the weather opens. What I would really like, and what I have not found, is a way to change the frequency in which the weather is updated. Setting the location statically versus automatic doesn't seem to have an effect either. I am in an area with great signal, 4-5 bars, and always with LTE, otherwise I have WiFi, so it's not a network connection issue. It's not like I want it to update all the time while the phone is off either (and risk draining the battery), but when I unlock the phone, that seems like a good time for the widget to check and see if it's been more than X minutes since it last updated (X being the number I can configure).
I updated my Razr Maxx on Monday. Tried doing it sooner, but was getting the bug where it wouldn't validate the update. Ever since my signal strenght has been much worse than before. I no longer get signal in some places that I go for work that I had no issues with before. In those I still get signal I have issues connecting to data where I never did before. Even at home my signal is much worse.I realize that ICS displays the strength differently, but the way it displays should have nothing to do with actual usability. Can hardly use my phone at all anymore while working whereas I had no issues before update.

View 15 Replies View RelatedYesterday I allowed the Motorola update on my Razr Maxx & now I wish I could undo it. When I go into "Phone", "Voicemail", "Text", etc. the background is black with white font (or in the case of Text, the background is dark blue with grey lettering). I am unable to read light colored font against a dark background so am having a terrible time with this update. Is there a way to change the color of the background and make the font black? I've tried changing the Display, Wallpaper, etc but that has no effect on the default background colors of the apps.
