The owner's guide says to tap the widget until vibration, then drag corner to new size. All that happens for me is that the calendar wants to move to a new position. On one attempt, the widget went into the trash. When I re-installed the widget, it came back in half its previous size (now 2x2 where it was 4x2). I cannot resize this widget either.
View 14 RepliesI tried to resize the widget into a 2x2 with a larger area for the picture so I could see my girlfriend's smiling face. But when I did that, it actually makes it into a 1x2 with HUGE buttons and a really wide, but short, picture. Is there a way to make the picture larger, and the buttons smaller?

Could see the different clocks in 2.1 and then select. But not in 2.2.2. You just select digital and see if it appears on the screen after stepping out of this settingsBut despite selecting digital, after revisiting the settings box, it still shows analogue - it should show digital since I selected digitalOn the screen the digital time & date widget shows up with time (top part: time side is ok) but with date (bottom part), this part shows the entire calendar with the highlight on present date. Funny aspect is that earlier at the first ever initial time I selected this widget, it showed up with the date i.e., with bigger matching font size to time (top: time , bottom: date) but later it stuck to the entire month-calendar format as mentioned above. After this the widget screen size also remained unchangeable. This widget can't be resized. It could be resized in 2.1 with your format in mind.
Its stuck on this:I just want to see the date and time (3:44pm 15 Nov Mon) and not the entire month-calendar ... ideally this should go away once the widget is resized.Its quite surprising to see 2.2 behave so .. for a lack of better word .. buggish. I did the bit where you switch off the phone, remove the battery and fit it back and restart, but this didn't do much.Update:Got this widget to resize by fluke when I tried to insert another application on the home screen and so I have managed to at least get the widget to become smaller, albeit in the 'vertical stack' form. The camera on the Droid X is pretty good..high res...maybe not as good as the SAMSUNG I just gave up to by the Droid but good. With my SAMSUNG and the phone I had before, if I sent a picture to an e-mail address it was just one button click to resize it for e-mail (would take the 3MP and resize to 100-180K which is much easier to download and views just fine on phone or laptop...with the Droid X it does not automatically give you the sizing option and if you go to the edit function it only lets you go down to 1MP...that is almost 10 times the size it should be for sending e-mail...really making people mad that I send pics too...is there a way to resize for e-mail (100-180K)
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I noticed that my calendar widget was falling a day behind. I deleted it from my homescreen and then tried to add it back. It brings up the configuration screen, but it refuses to add it to my homescreen, even if I try it on an entirely blank homescreen. I use launcherpro, but it hasn't had a recent update, and I have never had an issue before. I have tried restarting to no avail.

It used to sync w/ google calendar and show the current date and upcoming scheduled events. Is it just me or is this a general issue which get addressed in a future update?

The gmail one is working fine. Also the calender widget does not change dates until reboot. If all else fails Reset I guess but I am trying to avoid that. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently traveled overseas and had the weather widget on my homescreen. It updated sucessfully via wifi while I was there. When I've returned to the states, however, my widget still says the foreign city, the dates for the weather are the dates of my travel and it won't update.
In addition, if I try to add any city, it says "Can't add new city now. Try again later." This happens over both the data connection and wifi. I've done everything but a factory reset, including rebooting and removing & re-adding the widget.
When did Moto update the native blur weather widget? Last time I looked at it, it kind of had the same theming as the toggle widgets. It looks pretty nice now. how often the widget updates? There is no option to change the update interval so I'm wondering how often it actually does this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe stock Motorola Widgets/Weather widget has taken a nosedive since the OTA Gingerbread update hit my Droid X. The stock widget uses Accuweather.com data and it always previously behaved correctly with Froyo.
The problem I'm facing is that even though the Current Location/Show current location on widget green box is checked, the "current location" doesn't automatically update as I travel from town to town, as it used to do with Froyo.
I have the Settings/Location & security/Google location services green box checked. I have the Settings/Location & security/Standalone GPS services and VZW location services grey boxes unchecked.
Anyone else using the social networking widget notice that after viewing a bunch of items (typically tweets or facebook updates) they frequently show up again the next time I look for new entries? Most of the time it works as expected - items show up until I view them once, then no longer. Too often though I have to scroll through a bunch of updates multiple times

There doesn't seem to be a setting to set a refresh rate, and no matter if they are on the homescreen or not I notice that they are loading themselves into RAM anyway. For instance, social networking, weather, news, bookmarks widgets, etc are auto-loading into the RAM.So the question is, will it make any difference if I add the blur widgets to the homescreens or not? Would there be a performance/battery/ram difference if they were not on the homscreens? View 1 Replies View RelatedMy question is about the circles widget. It is beyond frustration to me that it takes what seems like hours to update the weather. Even after touching the weather circle and it displaying the weather app, it still will typically not update. Maybe it's just me, but I see zero use in having a widget that tells me the weather from 2 hours ago. It is also incredibly annoying to be driving to work, the sun has been out shining bright for an hour and a half, it's 50-60F degrees outside, and I unlock the phone to see an image of the night sky and the moon, and a temp of 30F.
I would have more forgiveness if this was some random widget I downloaded from the Play store, but this came installed with the phone, created by Motorola, designed for my device. For the time being, I have actually removed it from the main screen because it has just become frustrating and I am tired of constantly tapping on the weather and hoping it will update. There doesn't even seem to be a refresh option once the weather opens. What I would really like, and what I have not found, is a way to change the frequency in which the weather is updated. Setting the location statically versus automatic doesn't seem to have an effect either. I am in an area with great signal, 4-5 bars, and always with LTE, otherwise I have WiFi, so it's not a network connection issue. It's not like I want it to update all the time while the phone is off either (and risk draining the battery), but when I unlock the phone, that seems like a good time for the widget to check and see if it's been more than X minutes since it last updated (X being the number I can configure).
I can't find the app/widget to open my files. There is one for downloads, but not one just for my files.
