Apr 7, 2012The music won't play on my Droid X, running Android version 2.3.4, and I will recieve an errror message saying, "sorry the player does not support this type of audio file." Custom ringtone stop working, music & video won't play, custom alarms do not ring, etc., until after a reboot. Sometimes it will happen a few times a day and sometimes it won't happen for a few days.

Mar 13, 2012After the Market was replaced with "Play" I had replaced the home screen icon with the new one, and it had been working fine for days. But this morning the icon on the desktop was no longer connected to the new Play Store.Or anything else.
I couldn't get it to fire up from the app drawer either, so I took a look at the application manager in Settings. One of the uptions was "uninstall updates" so I figured if I did that it would go back to the original Market and then I could let everything update from there.
That appears to have been a mistake. I got an error that said it was unable to uninstall the updates, but now the app manager shows the Play Store has a 0KB size, and it still doesn't launch.

A friend of mine owns a tablet and his tablet plays the videos on that site his tablet opens the video player to play the video but my DROID RAZR maxx doesnt do anything do I need flash player to play the videos or my phone just can't play the videos on that site.

Well today I put my music on my Turbo but now Google Play won't even recognize any music that's not mp3. Why did it play fine on the old phone? Aug 26, 2011i can not view/play videos on facebook; neither from the browser or the app. i can play Internet videos and vimeo videos on facebook. it seems to be only ones labeled hd. when i called verizon about it, they sent me another phone. the problem did not go away. i assume it is a setting somewhere that i can not find. it does not give me an error message. it simply says: "error file cannot be displayed or played." i believe they are all in .mp4 i tried downloading another video app to see if it could play them. it can not do it either.

May 24, 2012Twice now since I have gotten this phone the bluetooth has stopped working until I reboot. I do not know how to reproduce this error on demand, yet. What I have noticed/tried: This is with a setreo headset. Bluetooth was working. After not using it for a couple of hours I get a call. I notice that the bluetooth indicator is still blue, but the bluetooth button on the phone dialer screen is disabled and audio comes through regular phone earpiece. After call I try some music but I hear nothing. I turn off the headset and the indicator on the phone turns grey. I turn the headset back on and the indicator turns blue and I get both the phone and stereo audible connect indicators in my headset. Still no sound when playing music. After a reboot bluetooth works as expected. I have a log from the time while I was performing the tests if any admin people would like it.

May 25, 2012I have a problem with the "My Music" app and music homescreen widget.
I can find and play music tracks but as soon as I hit the "home" key the music pauses. Basically, any time I exit the player, the music stops.. So I can listen to music OR do anything else.. annoying? yes!
If I press the "home" key or exit any other way - The widget on the home screen reverts to "Go to music dashboard" and if I press to un-pause the music, I am taken back to the "My Music" homescreen and have to re-select a song.
fix / workaround / another music player (one with Motocast capability?). Can i re-install "my music" or reset something?
- I am running motocast, but this problem occurs on Motocast and downloaded music. - i have tried turnignoff motocast computers. - This does not happen with podcasts or any other media - just music in my library.

Someone suggested a factory reset so I done that and it made my phone worse (froze all the time and took ages to start up) then someone suggested to wipe the cache partition? So I done that and it worked for less than 20 mins and went back to the same issue. Sometimes the start up sound works but barely ever. Can't even hear sound on phone calls.

I tried it on several videos one of which I uploaded from my phone and my wife could play it fine with her Thunderbolt and was quick to say it was because her phone was better than mine.

May 28, 2012I am running into issues when trying to play Facebook game Gardens of Time on my 10.1 XYBoard. Before purchasing, I live chatted with a Dell rep who ASSURED me I would be able to do this since Droid is Flash enabled. I am connected to my Wi-Fi when attempting and I get part of the way through to the actual game, but once I get to the part where you begin searching for the hidden objects, I simply get a small gray box with a white arrow (like a video to play or something). Upon accessing that arrow, nothing happens.

Jul 21, 2011I've had a problem with applications starting GPS. First Maps/Navigation, and confirmed with GPS Status. All location servers are enabled in Settings (Google Location services, Standalone GPS services, VZW location services). I'm outdoors when I'm performing these test with a clear view of the sky.
I'll start Maps, find a location, and choose to get 'Driving Directions.' It stops at "searching for GPS." The GPS icon in the notification bar never turns on. I've downloaded GPS Status, and it also doesn't show the GPS icon in the notification bar and therefore doesn't attempts to lock on. I haven't seen other forum posts about GPS problems where the icon doesn't show.
This is sporadic and doesn't happen all of the time when I use the app. But it has occured, between the two apps, about 6 times in the week I've owned the phone.
A work-around that has worked 2 out of 2 times so far is for me is to go into settings, toggle both "Standalone GPS services" and "VZW location services." Then go back into the app and the GPS starts and the icon shows in the bar and everything works. Simply toggling "Standalone GPS services" does not fix the problem, I also must toggle "VZW location services." I haven't tried toggling only "VZW" yet. Everything works fine for a while and then the app breaks again later.
Motorola Droid X :: Lag With Many Installed Apps?
May 6, 2011I have had the Droid X since Launch Day and I have loved the phone except for one glaring issue that constantly bugs me: LAG/general stuttering.I just tried it and noticed an immediate increase in snappiness and responsiveness. My problem is that I have many apps installed on my phone. I may not use them all the time but I do like to have them on there. Unfortunately I have noticed that these apps will often run in the background and probably just slow my phone down even though I would not normally use them. Is there any solution to keeping my phone running fast with a lot of apps? Or maybe a selective safe mode where you can choose what is allowed to run?
